I was just wondering how many of you remember back in the Coop era when the Michigan fan base was saying that Ohio State wasn't even a rival anymore?? Their biggest rivals, as they said were Notre Dame and Michigan State. If that was the case then why are they whining now about the beatings???

I remember that. It ticked me off something fierce. Having lived in NW Ohio during this era, I heard it all the time.

That is why it was said - to tick us off something fierce - and it worked. That drove me nuts too BTW.
Growing up in Toledo, my friends are split. I definitely remember this. My OSU friends and I started telling our M*ch friends that Penn St and Wisconsin are our new rivals during the RichRod regime.
When Urban hangs 100 on them, then I'll get over it.
Yeah....I also remember Coop saying scUM was "just another game".
How that guy lasted nearly twice as long as Earle is beyond me.
Anyhoo.....let 'em bitch, may as well get used to it.

E. Gordon Gee, that's why; I remember a rumor that alumni were pushing recruits elsewhere because they wanted to see him fired; Zwick was a prime example.
"Don't put syrup on shit, and tell me it's pancakes"
No matter how sh*tty the tour is, it's always tough to leave.
I absolutely remember that. But in the 90s, what few games we won against them, they were largely insignificant. By that I mean we did not win the years that we were bidding for the NC or the year Michigan won it all.
