Why don't the 49ers use Ginn on kickoffs and in the game more, they don't use his speed like they should. To me it doesn't make sense not to use your best playmakers, wish he was on a team that would use him more.

I know he is in on punt returns and has been on kickoffs during the reg season...
Maybe the browns could trade for ginn and alex smith.
There you go with Ginn on punt return. Nice return!
Nice return
After James' fumble, I thought they might give Ginn a kick off return opportunity. Love to see him touch the ball more. Glad he made a key contribution.
I just love seeing his "runner's lean" when he kicks it into gear. Dude is a freak of nature.
Flashes the "O"!
I loved that!
I saw that too. I wonder if someone in the crowd gave him a Buckeye shout out.
A thing of beauty.
Game changer return!
You have to hate losing more than you love winning! GO BUCKS!!
H brother Ginn! Big H to you! And an Io!
If only that defender didn't make a great play, Ginn would've had a TD catch.
Class of 2010.
Deeper pass might have worked too, Ginn turned on the jets when he cut up field.
Would like to see Whitner make a big play.
I've been thinking this too. Ginn has never really been used the way he should be. Somebody so fast, just watch that 7 minute highlight film on YouTube. I can't see why somebody who can make plays so effortlessly isn't utilized more. Cordarelle Patterson out of Tennessee reminds me of Ginn allot.. I hope the Browns could get Ginn, Chudzinski needs speed for the vertical passing game. Miami fans wanted Brady Quinn so I sorta feel Ginn never had too much of a chance down there with Chad Henne.
It's 5 o'clock somewhere, & Michigan still sucks
Game winning punt return TD?
Wouldn't it be nuts if Ginn gets a run back here.
i doubt they even kick it to him. hope they do
lame
Gah
kinda jacked few no calls there
"Don't put syrup on shit, and tell me it's pancakes"
No matter how sh*tty the tour is, it's always tough to leave.
he had some daylight
If Jim Harbaugh wanted a fair catch, he would have told Ginn before that play. It's more likely to score on the hail mary than take a kick back for a TD. I hope people in SF don't blame Ginn for the game.

They won't blame Ginn. They'll be talking about the no call. Trust me - I've already talked to some SF people tonight. They're irate about the no call.
The world is full of kings & queens who'll blind your eyes & steal your dreams - it's heaven & hell - Ronnie James Dio.
Are any of them Miami fans? Because you should point out the irony if they are.
No - I have no association with Miami fans...but I wish they were as you make a great point...

Sorry for the downvote. On iphone and fat fingers. Id give this pic multiple upvotes if i could. Someone give this guys some upvotes!! Thanks! Go Bucks!

+1 No worries, I'm just glad you like it.
As much as I HATE to say it...Ginn is SOFT!!! Ginn is one of if not my favorite Buckeye ever. I'm a Dolphins fan and was the happiest guy in the world when the Dolphins drafted him. However, having watched Ginn every Sunday it became very clearhe doesn't like contact. He dislikes it so much that he looks to get out of bounds instead of cutting it back or putting a shoulder down for that extra yard. As a WR he dropped so many passes because his head was on a swivel always looking for the guy about to hit him instead of catching the ball. Ginn has elite speed; however, lots of guys in the NFL have elite speed. He couldn't just run right past guys anymore.
However at the end of the day I still love Teddy Ginn and still wear my OSU and Dolphins Ginn jerseys.

As a punt/kickoff return guy, he's definitely ok with some contact...

It's called longevity my friend... The guy tops out at about 25-26 mph, and weighs about 200lbs if that? Go running into a crowd on kickoff or punt at 25 mph at any weight and you're not going to be around the league long!
Remember that in the end you will be judged not by what you believed, planned or dreamed; but, by what you did.
I totally understand that, which is why there is discusion of eliminating kickoffs; however, as a WR you're going to get hit. It is a CONTACT sport. No excuses...Joey Galloway wasn't a big guy BUT he still got it done...

He just couldn't catch the ball at the nfl level, as much as it kills me to say it his nfl career has been kind of similar to Desmond Howard.
I always wonder what might have been had we left him at CB where his hands would be above average and he wouldn't have to block. I think Frank Clark's nickname should be Ginn after watching his highlights.
Yea, but then he'd have to fight off blocks & tackle which would actually lead to more contact., imo.

Deion.
There is no comparison to Neon Deion. Ginn has phenomenal top end speed, however, he does not have the quick burst or change of direction speed that Deion did to complement his top end speed.
I didn't mention Deion to say Ginn could be a Hall of Famer. I mentioned Deion to point out that someone could be a Hall of Famer without being able to get off of blocks and being averse to contact.
Oh yeah totally. I should have clarified a little more. His speed helped him avoid those blocks and force people to hit the sideline or cut back in to where his teammates could help. But when he did engage somebody, he wasn't going anywhere.
Yea, but Deion was an ELITE cover guy, (some say the first true shutdown corner). Not to mention Prime also returned kicks, punts, & played some slot WR.
We'd have to speculate about TGJ's cover skills, especially pointing out that he may not have the best agility to change direction with some of these WRs.
