This might go down as the biggest absolute slam dunk of any selections. For some reason, #22 is not especially popular. No #22 on the Buckeyes current roster, it seems.
Battles are sometimes won by generals; wars are nearly always won by sergeants and privates. Football is no different, the guys down in the trenches win the games, not the coach.
Lydell Ross's block on the 2002 Holy Buckeye play is the only reason Krenzel got the ball off in time. If you liked the 2002 National Championship, you should have some respect for Lydell Ross.
No block on that play, no pass, no catch, no win and we never go to the 2002 Championship game.
oook if you say so, it wasn't a difficult block IMO, slow blitzing mlb picked up by the guard funneled right to lydell ross' face, gave him a little push, krenzel steps up and launches, the only way that wasnt going to be a td is if osu is in an empty formation with no backs blocking lol
Maurice Hall, Maurice Clarett, OR Brandon Joe could have made that block
I remember being a 12 year old kid sporting an AJ Hawk walking out of Ohio Stadium and an old man came up to me and said "Nice Chic Harley jersey!" I was embarrassed to have no idea who he was talking about (at the time)
I remember #81 Louis Irizarry. Man he could have been a good one. We should start a list of Jersey numbers in need of a star player. 81 needs some love. Paging Marcus Baugh!
Dustin Fox was our leading tackler as a corner.... because his guy always caught the ball.
Btw, I was thinking that this thread wasn't necessarily a "best ever to wear the number" thing.
Rather, I kinda like that it's included a mix of current, recent, vintage players; great players and lovably-not-so-great players; triumphant champions but also a few tragic stories.
Terrelle Pryor #2
gotta throw mike doss in here too
the kids are playing their tail off, and the coaches are screwing it up! - JLS

4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off
+1 For Krenzel, but figured one of these would have been picked for the pic:
Oh, this'll be popular.
I think he gets an undeserved bad break from many Bucks fans...
#17 Todd Boeckman
#18 Najee Murray (but will this still be his number when he's a star?):
#19 Ahmed Plummer:
#20 CB Neal Colzie (1972-1974)
Stay golden, Ponyboy.
Our newest (recently changed) #21, and my favorite linebacker: Boom Perkins. He was fast and a linebacker before Mike Mitchell made it cool.

I would agree, but this is not by skill. <3 Boom
How do we not put Leon Sandcastle here!?
I like to believe that my best hits border on felonious assault.

also his father......
Antonio Pittman #25 Perhaps the most undervalued back at OSU. Loved his game.
I work with two TSUN fans, and this pic has been my Windows desktop for years.
Also wasn't Carlos Snow # 25 as well?
Battles are sometimes won by generals; wars are nearly always won by sergeants and privates. Football is no different, the guys down in the trenches win the games, not the coach.
I believe you are correct.
My first tOSU jersey ever was a Pittman jersey! He was one of my favorite players when i was younger!
#26 - Robert Smith
I know Robert Smith is probably the most famous 26, but this guy was pretty good, too.
Edit: Dammit, someone beat me to it.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.

Dustin Fox was our leading tackler as a corner.... because his guy always caught the ball.
Too good to pass up. Lydel, Crydel, Side Step, Donna Ross.
4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off
Lydell was a stud, and one of my favorites.
Also #30, Greg Bellisari, M.D.:
Baby-Wes Fesler is crying.....
is this a joke? lydell ross sucked
Still Greg Bellisari was a better 30 than Lydell...lets be honest
oook if you say so, it wasn't a difficult block IMO, slow blitzing mlb picked up by the guard funneled right to lydell ross' face, gave him a little push, krenzel steps up and launches, the only way that wasnt going to be a td is if osu is in an empty formation with no backs blocking lol
