This is a great read on Mike Mitchell and his family. Great background information on Mickey, too.

I can't wait until he signs on the dotted line tomorrow! What a defense we're going to have. And what an offense. Such a good time to be a Buckeye!!!

"Mitchell took just one official visit, and committed to Ohio State at this year’s U.S. Army All-American game. The opportunity to play for an undefeated Buckeyes team and Urban Meyer in specific (remember, Mitchell grew up in Florida during Meyer’s heyday in Gainesville) proved to be the only selling points Mitchell needed to hear.

“I met Coach Meyer and he was awesome” Mitchell said. “I got a tour of the campus. All the people were really nice.”

Mitchell will head up to Columbus on his spring break and try and learn as much of the playbook before he enrolls for good in the summer."

I'm even more pumped about this guy after reading this article and learning about his family.

Great read. Mike sounds like a freak. Cant wait to see him get on the field.

Really makes you think Matta's got a foot in the door for Mickey already, mainly because of the family first mentality.

Nothing like dancing on the field in 02...

He's going to be a freak athlete....I can't wait to see how fast he is. Considering he won the SPARQ award at the Opening for a laser timed 4.39 forty (despite what some "expert bloggers" on 11W think about it). He's going to be special...so will a lot of the 2012 and 2013 commits will be too. I'm pumped!

This also means that Ohio State gets the best Sophomore basketball player in the country this year. Little borther Mickey, a 6-8 220 point guard. Who looked like a bigger faster version of Tim Tebow on the football field his Sophomore year. Mike says they want to go to the same collegel to make it easier for their parents. I believe a factor in Mike choosing Ohio State. Ohio State is one of a very small group of colleges that have Top Ten basketball AND football programs.

I thought that OSU was involved with Mitchell BEFORE the SPARQ testing? It makes it sound like OSU only got found out about Mike because of that camp.
