This is a true story written by Matt Frantz, a Buckeye kicker from 1985-1987. I actually heard the story from a client I met in Boston, who lived in Cincinnati and frequented the steakhouse where Matt now works and became friends with him. When he found out I was a Buckeye, this book arrived at my doorstep with a nice note from Matt. After reading it, I was a bit embarrassed, as a Buckeye, that I was not familiar with the story. But what an inspirational read. And not just for Buckeye fans either. Anyone who wants to hear a story about someone who refused to give up, this is your kind of book.

Hope you didn't think I was dissing your post. Just the legend of "Rudy" and wake up the echoes....blah, blah, blah.
I use to work with Matt years ago, he told me about his idea for the book and things that went on at tOSU according to him. I haven't read the book but he did tell me some disturbing things about teammates and goings on at tOSU. he was always looking for that make it rich idea. i know he was working on a movie he said would star Leah Remini, I never heard another word about the movie. he was also working on a idea with a new kickoff tee. The weird thing about Matt was, once we were talking and he said to me atleast I beat Michigan in 1986. If you go back to 1986 he shanked the kick and we lost. He did however beat them in 1987. you would think that a lifelong OSU fan would know what year he beat Michigan.
That's a questionable LinkedIn photo for someone who wants to be taken seriously. He looks like he's trying to position himself as some goofy 'food guy' expert that is already worn out by now. I would hope former Buckeyes would have a little more of a professional public image. Then again, I was at a sports bar in Cincinnati watching an OSU game in the fall and Ryan Hamby was 2 tables away getting absolutely blasted on jagerbombs at 3pm while being dressed in his Walnut Hills coaching gear, so maybe I give these former players too much credit.
Maybe Hamby was trying to forget the Texas game.
