Am i the only one that feels we are going to take a lot more then projected for the 2014 class? I think the projected number is somewhere around 18, but with the way we have started I feel we could take 25+. I feel like after this season there will be a lot of attrition in terms of depth chart guys because Urban finally has a decent amount of playmakers so he will be able to see who fits and who doesn't, and for those who don't well they will probably be the odd man out. I just feel that we are in on so much talent this year that we can't only be going after possibly 13 more guys since we already have 5.. Anyone else feel this way?? Just a thought....

Yes. Attrtion is natural in any given year. It will be accelerated the next few years as Meyer implements his system, brings in his guys, with still a few years' worth of the guys that he didn't recruit may get weeded out.

No. I think it fills up quick, but I don't see 25+. We probably just don't have the late push we had this year (Bell, Clark, Wilson, Smith, etc.) because there won't be roster spots open. I don't know why mass attrition is just assumed. There's always 78-85 scholarship players on the roster, you don't see this massive attrition every year, right?

Well no but I just think that we are in on so many talented kids that have strong interest in OSU and you think Urban is going to turn away a highly touted recruit if he wants in??

Yes. He said as much last Wednesday at his presser that he had to turn away a few kids. He obviously will not go over 82 and I don't see him "encouraging" 4-6 current guys to leave.

I definitely see the running back herd thinning out a bit as well as a wideout or 2... on D, I think an older lineman or 2 may look to play their last year or 2 elsewhere.

I don't think Urban and crew will encourage it at all but they are some positions where they know they don't need to fight to keep a kid around if he's thinking of transferring.

I hate speculating. We have no idea what's going on with their personal lives (see: O'Connor). We all would want to be in a starting role, but perhaps that's not the biggest priority and guys are ok being a backup. There's what, like 14 D-Lineman on the roster? I've lost count at this point with 9-10 the last 2 classes plus Hale, Moore, Miller, Bennett, etc. already on the roster.

The DLinemen depth is different though as those guys are constantly rotating so they will get good amounts of playing time.. Maybe we won't go over 25 for the class but I'm thinking that 22-25 is a logical number!!

It's going to be so nice when we get back to 85!!!!!
