I don't know if anybody else watched his team play back in the Fall, on ESPNU. I expected a guy being recruited by OSU, Oregon, SCUM, Arkansas, UCLA, Oregon, etc. to dominate...but I thought he looked just above average. Maybe he just didn't have one of his best games that night, but I was thinking to myself - no loss if we don't land this kid. Good luck to him in the future though.
I would imagine that he told Meyer that he wanted to stay on the West Coast or the track thing wasn't ideal for him. I don't think this was a Meyer decision because his stock has only risen and I would have loved to have him in the class.
Did really well at the Simper Fi bowl and I wouldn't be surprised to see him excell in Oregon's offense. Would have rather the guy landed at UCLA (I like seeing programs rise and fall), but still excited to see him play in college.
The prevailing notion was that he had track speed, but maybe not football speed (i.e. burst). That the trail went cold even as Gibson's situation was getting weirder and other WRs were tweeting and visiting, but not committing, seems like the staff just didn't see him in S&G. Best of luck to him. I see him as a Jordan Shipley type.
I can't rememebr, why did we not pursue him harder?
Yeah, he was talked about quite a bit early on, but I cant remember what happened to his recruitment.
If I remember correctly the thought was Allen and Gibson were very similar players, so the lean was towards Gibson.

I see this as Oregon's backup plan because they believe they have lost out on Wilson.
