I think Meyer will be able to take 4 more and I want:
1. Vonn Bell
2. Corn Elder
3. Shelton Gibson
4. Cameron Hunt
If only 3 ships are open I would take Elder off and keep Hunt on because offensive line would be a nice addition and we already have good depth in the backfield. If somehow Gibson doesn't qualify (he swears he will) and we have 4 ships then take Timmons, if only 3 then Elder fills in. I know Worley is likely in, but I'm not a huge fan of him compared to the other recruits still on the board for us.
Who do you guys want to see us finish with?

If Brian Kelly leaves:
1. Bell
2. Gibson
3. Redfield
4. Smith
If Brian Kelly stays:
1. Bell
2. Gibson
3. Worley
4. Timmons
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Seems like Worley and Gibson (assuming grades are in order) are in. Bell gets a spot no matter what so if he says yes it'll be him and the first OL to commit. If bell goes to bama then it's an OL and elder in my opinion
Vonn Bell
Chris Worley
Shleton Gibson
An O linemen
I don't think we're getting Bell or Hunt.
I will take
1. Gibson
2. Worley
3. Elder
And, yes, if Kelly leaves (which I don't think he will), I want Jaylon Smith most of all.
bell, gibson, hunt, timmons.
I would like Von Bell, Shelton Gibson, Chris Worley, Dan Skipper ( Interested in seeing a 6'10" offensive lineman)
this makes me laugh.
Bell,Gibson,Timmons,and Skipper
SCOTTC.
I thought about making a post like this. I know a lot of people think we are going to get Bell, but let's pretend we don't. Then who do you think will be in this class? I don't think we get Bell, but I hope I'm wrong.
I also dont see Bell happening. He will take his official visits and pick the Tide. I wish it were different, just a feeling I get.
Im thinking Urban and the staff grab Skipper, Worley, Gibson, and Timmons, but whatever the case, and whatever we get, I love and support it!
That makes you a loyal supporter, but I would be very unhappy if that's how we finished this class
I think we take 4 more...
Bell
Gibson
Worley
o-lineman
I'd like to see Corey Smith flipped tho. Would be nice to have another WR.
Gibson
Worley
Skipper
TIMMONS.
For whatever reason, TRB just don't see Vonn Bell coming here.
Help is on the way.
Bell
Gibson
Worely
Wilson
Bell, Montelus, Gibson, & Jaylon Smith. Yes. In that order. Out of need...
Need safety help in upcoming years. Bell and Worley (star). Anything else is icing on icing in this great class.
Timmons
Gibson
Hunt
Elder
I'm not going to read the responses before posting, so here I go...
1. Shelton Gibson - I just think he's a pure WR with good speed, and it seems we need that.
2. Cameron Hunt - What can I say, I just think we need more O Linemen.
3. Vonn Bell - Seems this kid is raved about for a reason. We need to land this kind of talent to compete with the likes of Bama.
4. Elder/Timmons/Wilson - We can always use more electric playmakers.
If Kelly leaves:
Bell, Smith, Bivin, Worley
If Kelly Stays, What I want:
Bell, Wilson, Gibson, Worley
If Kelly stays, what I think:
Wilson, Gibson, Worley, OL
#Buckeyes
Oh I thought the thread was who I thought not who I want..
I want
Bell
Gibson
Smith
LaRue
and HUNT
In order of importance....
Bell
Elder
Gibson
Skipper or Hunt...both are good Olinemen (and we need another one IMHO)
With the mystery flip/recruit...whomever that is....Damn you Alex...I hate not knowing who that is ;-)

Everyone is going to get mad at me just like they did when i said James Quick wasn't coming to OSU, but I really don't understand this idea people have that Brian Kelly is leaving Notre Dame? It is a way to get a bigger contract. Brian Kelly has no reason to leave Notre Dame.
If Kelly leaves:
1) Smith
2) Bell
3) Worley
4) Gibson
---------------------
If Kelly stays:
1) Bell
2) Worley
3) Gibson
4) OL/None (Call it a class and save for 2014)
“Not everybody’s the perfect person in the world, I mean everyone kills people, murders people, steals from you, steals from me, whatever. I think that people need a second chance, and I’ve always looked up to Mike Vick."
For me I do not get all of the Gibson communication/miscommunication. On one hand he says he is all Ohio State 100%. Then rumors about his elgibility, but on tape he says he is fully elgible academically and it has been his choice not to sign? Very conflicting to the 100% early on. I then read an article where he said WV is losing all of there WR's and its 50/50 which means he wants less comp for playing time. I believe that is the root of Gibson if in fact he has been elgible grade and ACT wise. So for me I put Timmons above Gibson because they are so close to begin with I have to go with desire.
Bell
Timmons
Elder
Worley
I think the staff will clear the air on him this weekend... I just hope they don't spend so much attention on Bell that they can't gain ground with Gibson. I think he either leaves a Buckeye (silent or public) or he doesn't end up in this class. The staff will want to know what to do with Elder/Timmons/Corey Smith.
Disagree Gibson and Timmons are that close. Timmons would be better in a hybrid position, but Gibson is light years ahead as a pure WR. We already have Marshall and possibly Zeke for the hybrid position, but have a need for pure WR.
Bell Gibson Worley Elder/Timmons
Also, just throwing this out there... I don't think the staff gives up on Quick until he literally signs his name for Louisville... IMO he is still in play
“Not everybody’s the perfect person in the world, I mean everyone kills people, murders people, steals from you, steals from me, whatever. I think that people need a second chance, and I’ve always looked up to Mike Vick."
Well I like a couple of those ND guys... Jaylon Smith please!
But I am not going to assume anything...
I think we end with Gibson, Worley, Elder, and an OLine man. However, I really hope Urban can win the battle for Bell!
I hate to say it guys, but if Corey Smith flips this weekend there will be no Timmons or Elder. I'm not sure where all 3 rank of the staff's board, but Smith is a true WR and would fill the void when we missed on Quick. We already have at least 2 slot guys in Marshall and Jacobs. Elliott could be used in that role too. We are pretty sure Worley is in and looking to get Bell. That would finish out the defense for 2013. We would only be waiting for Gibson and the o-lineman.
I'd like:
1.Bell
2.Gibson
3. Elder
4. Hunt
Something about Gibson makes me think he maybe a problem guy, has nothing todo with grades rumor. Just the way he acts. He pushed down the DB on coverage at an attempy his way during Army game. DB was called for Interference, but Gibsons reaction either way was suspect. IDk just a hunch.
Edit:
Who I want:
1) Bell
2) Hunt
3) Smith
4) Gibson
Who I think:
1) Gibson
2) Worley
That's it. I think Skipper stays TN, Hunt goes up north, Bell goes Bama, Smith stays Ole Miss, and Timmons/Elder don;t get the offer/aren't allowed to commit.
This class is fantastic and the staff will just bank any extra schollies that pop up for '14
Cause I couldn't go for three
I don't think the staff is going to bank schollies... I think they will use them. I'm not sure about Bell. I believe they'll take another WR whether it be Timmons or Elder. I think Corey Smith comes home. After seeing Northwestern handle Miss St. I believe he finds a better opportunity at OSU. Worley is in for sure... He is the only person I'm 100% on.
I think they might. Hear me out here.
1) Worley and Gibson are in... just depends on when.
2) Smith could very well commit... but if it doesn't happen this weekend it's not happening.
3) Bell to Bama, Skipper stays at Tenn, and Hunt to UM (I don't know why I think this, I just do... we'll see where we are at when he makes the visit or if he makes the visit)
If those three things happen, we technically have no spots left. One more should open up before signing day (maybe two). In that case the staff needs to decide what to do with Elder/Timmons. Those are the only two uncommited with offers. We already have three WRs including two slot/hybrid guys. '14 is STACKED, absolutely stacked. I think the staff will call it a day with Gibson and Worley and go on to next year.
Cause I couldn't go for three
Alex addressed some of this below... Timmons doesn't have an offer yet either.
I know.... what part of my post indicated that Timmons did?
Pretty much all of Alex said I addressed. I don't think we get Bell or the two linemen we are after. He just thinks that Timmons/Elder would take up a third spot while I think the staff would be happy with the WRs they have (with Gibson) and move on.
Cause I couldn't go for three
"In that case the staff needs to decide what to do with Elder/Timmons. Those are the only two uncommited with offers."
this part maybe?
ah... my bad. I know Timmons has no offer. Should read "only two being seriously considered"
Cause I couldn't go for three
But tOSU coaches are the ones who asked him to come up. I do not see how Timmons is part of their plans either with so few opportunities and so many others with an offer. Is this just a pipe dream for Timmons or is there still signicant interest by the Buckeye staff?
Too few weeks left I believe for him to be wasting one and pissing off others that want you badly. I at this point I would wish that Timmons commit to UK stay home and be a hero as UK coaches are telling him.
OSU finishes up with Elder and possibly Smith with Jacobs. Im sorry guys but we can be very thankful Marshall is in this class. Elder will be more effective than Jacobs but neither of those two will contribute next year. Marshall is the only freshman RB/WR that might. That is not an insult to the others thats just an obvious fact about freshmen.
Timmons on the other hand if he goes to UK should get immediate playing time with this new beginning for UK. He has a chance to shine like Randall Cobb
Ok, we all get it, you like Timmons. But you flat out need to get over the fact he hasn't been offered. This is literally the only site that has the majority of the users even talking about Timmons. He is Plan C right now and the staff won't offer unless it is obvious that Gibson and Smith are going elsewhere and they have no chance with Wilson. Even then Elder is higher on their list.
All props to Timmons for being pateint with the staff, but the reality is that he is not their plan A. He might go to UK and light it up, but freshman RARELY do it, and when they do, they are typically highly rated studs (see Stephon Diggs).
Honestly, I won't lose a wink of sleep if Timmons is not in this class. I think Marshall is worlds better against MUCH better competition, I think Jacobs is quicker and more elusive, and I think Smith/Gibson are much better wideouts in general. Timmons is a good player, but the staff have bigger fish right now.
Cause I couldn't go for three
Congratulations Ripster I shall give you an upvote as you managed to agree with most of what I said and you managed to do so in such a polite way. Thank You.
Drew Barker is visiting UK pretty soon too. If Stoops could land those 2 guys he would off to building a solid foundation for his offense. Throw in a few o-linemen and he could be on his way.
I don't see Elder in this class either. I see Gibson giving a silent verbal this weekend and Corey Smith flipping. That would finish up our WR's for the year.
Jacobs won't see the field much unless Coach Mick can put 20 lbs on him. I tink the same for Elder if he ends up in this class. He is too small for D1 football right now and being on the basketball court will make it harder to maintain weight and size.
Your prediction is solid!!
Not surprising that you got a downvote --- but lame anyway
Your predicted class are the 2 guys that (as far as we know) have commitable offers that are (reportedly) OSU leans, which makes it a very realistic estimate.
Folks don't like to hear this, but OFTEN, having 3 guys who list your school as 1 of 3 finalists, you get 0 or 1 of them.
Post above was giving props to ^Rampage's prediction^
I wonder if making J Hall give back Rod his number would sway Jaylon Smith to flip. His recruitment gave me serious heartache. If we could flip Jaylon, it would erase the memories of Anzalone and Henderson and all the other clusters
Does rod even care about his number? I believe this is the 2nd time he has changed numbers at OSU. My guess is he got something in return for changing the number. But, to your question, no, it would not have any factor in getting his brother to flip.
I do not/hope not think they would be wasting time or money on these guys coming in if they were only taking 2 more. I think its closer to 5 than 2
Any local news about Timmons Waycraken? I assume he's excited and nervous all at the same time going into this trip... He wants an offer so bad, but not sure if he will get it.
Something seems to be keeping his interest, but honestly its beyond me but I have to give him credit with his patience. He is getting a lot of interest and his maturity through this whole process is certainly a positive. Funny thing people get very little info from him as far as which schools are contacting him. Its normally his coaches that spill the beans.
I don't disagree with your thinking, but this is war (sort of).
The staff is definitely mindful not to deliberately screw akid or make their coach mad, but they also want to manage this closing process, and it puts us in a better condition to have options.
I still think they are taking four and in order I think they will recruit from, as of now, in no order:
1. Vonn Bell
2. Chris Worley
3. Shelton Gibson
4. Corey Smith
5. Corn Elder
6. Ryan Timmons
7. Cameron Hunt
8. Dan Skipper
I think Worley is in and they 100% find room for Bell if he wants in. That leaves two spots. I think they take one of Gibson or Smith and the other spot either goes to Gibson/Smith or an OL.
The only way I see Elder or Timmons getting the green light to commit is if 2 of Bell/Gibson/Smith don't end up as Buckeyes OR if there is more than 4 spots open.
I could be completely wrong, but that's what I'll go with off what I am hearing. (Worley, Bell, 1-2 WRs, 0-1 OL)
I think you're right, and hope you're wrong just a little.
What about OT Hunter Bivin if Kelly leaves? Wasn't he high on OSU at some point? Or am I thinking of someone else?
not factoring in Kelly leaving....or Dontre Wilson possibly visiting for that matter.....but if Kelly leaves expect OSU to go after the ND OL recruits, TE Mike Heuerman, LB Jaylon Smith, and maybe a few others
Do we really want Cory Smith or is he a backup plan for Gibson???
Cate Blanchett
Katharine McPhee
Anne Hathaway
Cameron Diaz
Mmmm... Anne Hathaway....
Cameron Diaz has a butter face.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Erroneous!! Erroneous on all accounts!
The truth is erroneous? :o
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
I could make a lot of these 4 person lists but the one constant on all of them would be Cate Blanchett.
1. Smith (Rod might be able to recover that fumble of a bro he has)
2. Williams (who wants to play for a snack food over a pope)
3. All the 5 star prospects who for some F'in reason have Ole Miss in their top 3. We would need like 5 spots for them if they all decided to change their minds.
4. Vernon Hargreves III

Now back to Reality!
1. Bell
2. Hunt
3. Elder
4. Timmons
If Gibson is having trouble meeting the standards in the classroom, then IMO he isn't the type of talent worth taking. I'll take the kid that plays crappy competition but puts up numbers in Timmons. If Gibson was like a 5 star WR say...Julio Jones style then I would say who cares, but not with a top 15 type guy.
"...they're midgits!"-Coach Kerry Coombs
Sorry but I hate that comment if he was a top 15 talent then who cares. I know this happens in recruiting but if you arnt cut for it in the classroom you shouldn't be accepted no matter how good you are. This is coming from a kid who prides himself inside the classroom.
*I am tallking about the risk to the program as a whole, and not the risk that the player won't succeed or be eligible. I don't know if that was clear in my comment.
However, it isn't clear to me is what you hate about the comment???
I am saying it's a risk/reward balance that a coach has to judge. An undisputed 5 Star type guy might be worth the risk because it may be outweighed by the potential on the field, but if you're talking about a kid where the balance doesn't tip that way, and the risk is greater than the likely reward...logic would tell me that it's not worth it. If you don't recruit this way then you're not going to get the type of on field product that you probably love from OSU.
It's the reality of the big business that big time college FB has become.
"...they're midgits!"-Coach Kerry Coombs
No matter how good a kid is athletically, a player with poor academics should not be accepted to a big time university. I thought I made that clear in my first response.
Why?
Why should athletes have to go to college at all? Your sentiments would put the SEC out of business.
And by the way, I share your sentiments as concerns THE Ohio State University.
It wasn't clear to me at all whether you were simply about Gibson or my feelings on Julio Jones. I understand your feelings though and agree with them, which is why the Julio Jones comment was more meant as a poke at the reality of big time sports rather than anything dealing with Gibson.
"...they're midgits!"-Coach Kerry Coombs
I was talking about the Julio part school is for academics first.
No wonder Corn Elder is considering Vanderbilt as well. He could definately come off the bench and contribute on that BB team. Playing on their FB team he should always be able to join the BB team early and not have to wait too long through bowl season.
Want:
1.Bell
2. J. Smith
3. Timmons and close the class
Reality:
1. Worley
2. Gibson
3. Bell and if not an o-line
My WAG on how it actually ends up...
WR: Smith
DB/WR: Elder
OL: Hunt or Skipper or ?
1. V-Smooth
2. Timmons
3. Gibson
4. Worley
I also think we need O linemen, but don't think we should just be adding whoever we can find that is still available.
I can't wait until we actually have all of our schollies back! The staff will be able to do so much more.
The thought that this kind of class can be improved upon is positively scintillating.
Thats a pretty big word for a footbaw forum.
I don't want a 6'10 OT, to me that is just too tall. Its going to be hard for him to get low in the run game.
Well, is it safe to say Timmons is on the outside looking in?
Do we take Corey Smith AND Gibson? Does that close out Elder and anyone else at WR/RB?
I'd say Smith, Bell, Gibson, and an Olineman if there's space for 4 more.
Bell
Smith/Gibson
Hunt
Corn Elder
Bell
close the class
Vonn Bell
Corey Smith
James Clark
Cameron Hunt or Dan Skipper
