Urban says it all....

UFM talked a great deal about Alabama and the SEC today. Face it, as much as we and everyone else hates their dominance, it is deserved and it is where I want the Buckeyes to get. We dont have time to wait for the rest of the B1G to catch up. You guys can either catch up and keep up or get the hell out of the way. We will need to steamroll everyone until they do and continue to win some big bowl games to stay in the national conversation. I like our future schedules and I feel like it is geared specifically for that path. A few more recruiting classes with the depth he wants......that is when it will start to get fun.

The fact that he points out Alabama and the SEC in reference to being/beating the best is what I love about his pressers.

I grew up despising everything about ttun.  Never wanting to be caught dead wearing their God-aweful color combinations in public, nor ever capitalizing the first letter in their urine-reaking state.  However while the Cooper era helped to focus my hatred, the virtual tidal wave of fandom that Tressel ushered in has brought a since of complacency to this once revered rival and The Game in my mind.

While I still have to respect the AACC program, It no longer stikes the fear-in-your-heart that it once did to all of Buckeye Nation.

Alabama is Top-Dawg right now.  And I love that Urban is attempting to shift our focus towards bigger and better things.  He doesn't want a team that is just good enough to win a mediocre B1G.  Rather he wants a Great team that can and will  win it all.

“Right now, Michigan is not at the pinnacle of college football, and that’s all Urban Meyer cares about...He’s been there and knows what it takes to get there.”

There was an era where beating Michigan meant Rosebowl, which was the most important objective for any Big 10 team.  Now the Rosebowl is a consellation prize and I won't comment as to whether that is a good or bad thing, it's just reality.  The BCS title game or the Final Four playoff are what we are aiming for now.

Michigan will always be an important game and rivalry, but to be the best program in America you have to knock of an SEC champ now.  Urban will do what he does in rivalry games against Michigan.  I felt 2012 was Michigan's best chance at beating Urban Meyer led Buckeyes, but also didn't see it happening with it being de-facto bowl game and Urban's first GAME.  He knew how important it was to put up a W and he wasn't going to lose that game. I just see him now treating Michigan like he treated Georgia and Tennessee every year.  I really think he'll match Tressel's success in the game.

He's going to be judged by how he goes up against Saban or Chip Kelly.  Brady Hoke is just going to be icing on the cake. (somewhere Hoke just awoke from a fried chicken and gravy induced coma and said, "did someone say ICING??????")

Incorrect. This is Michigan's modus operandi, which the rest of the B1G follows, save one team: Ohio State.

Since 1951, Ohio State has been engineered to win national titles.

There wasn't a special national championship bowl game.  So beating Michigan and then winning a rose bowl if you are the number 1 team meant a national championship.

The guy sees the big picture. The B1G is just a stepping stone and Michigan is just another speed bump to trample on to something bigger and better. Don't get me wrong, you have to beat the teams in front of you but there is nothing wrong with trampling the weak on the way towards Tuscaloosa. Bama is the king. Meyer wants OSU to be the king. Only one way this thing ends fellas.

4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off

You know what's amazing about him?  He absolutely sees big picture.  He knows you have to push the buttons of the crowd base.  Mention success against Michigan and how special Ohio State is and keep talking about how you are going to build to be like Bama.  He knows every string to pull to fire up the fan base, recruits, the media, the players, and his staff.  He's an amazing coach.

Whoa, let's not get ahead of ourselves, buckaroos. First we beat TSUN, then we go for total world domination, move aside Alabama/SEC. If we don't beat TSUN, then chances are we won't get the opportunity for total world domination. Plus, it's so much more fun to say rude things about those Wolverines.

While it's probably true for next season, in the not so distant future when we will have to play several tough non conference schools, a loss in The Game to Michigan may not eliminate Ohio State from the top 4, especially when they could potentially avenge that loss the following week in the B1G title game.

OP: Yep, and the good thing to keep in mind is that 2012-2014 we're basically playing with one hand tied behind our backs when you consider we can only have 82 on scholarship which as Urban has said in the past, is huge. It'll be great when we can get back up to 85.
