Going after Johnny football. The best part is they posted another article, that apologizes because his mother was with him which allows him to drink. Anything for publicity right?

I get that his parents are rich, and I don't really care about underage drinking. But man, every picture I see of this kid all I can think is "he really couldn't look more like a d-bag if he was actively trying".

Kid is living it up, and I dont blame him one bit
Trainwreck anyone??
An angry fan...rooting for an angry team...led by angry coaches
i like him but this is the third or fourth episode of him going a little overboard. i agree it may come back to bite him...
I thought this post was going to be about ESPN. They seem to be the TMZ of the sports world these days.
They really are. Headlines get ratings, ratings means money.
Not trying to be a hater, but how does it make it okay for him to drink just because his mom is present.
I like to believe that my best hits border on felonious assault.

Edit:
In my mind it does make it okay. The kid is old enough to be drafted and go off to fight in a war that he may or may not even care about. Let him have a beer or two.
I'm just tired of all the PC police out there that says we should legislate morality.
“Right now, Michigan is not at the pinnacle of college football, and that’s all Urban Meyer cares about...He’s been there and knows what it takes to get there.”
You can legally drink in Texas if you're underage and have a parent present, I believe this also applies in Ohio.
Ohio is one of the states that has the "arms reach" law that allows minors to drink under parental supervision.
It also applies to your spouse as well, provided that one of you is of legal-drinking age...
Yet another reason for us to rush into marriage..LMAO

yeah, im sure his mom was there...night club, partying with 19-20some year olds...
I couldn't imagine a more perfect image of a party girl standing to Manziel's right.
Btw. Can we stop calling the guy Johnny Football? Hate it.
You know it really annoys me too, I actually don't even know why I used it. I'm going to go home and watch Roseanne as punishment.
Johnny Niteclub, anyone?
Dig it.
He'll be the media darling until he comes crashing back to earth when some good defensive coordinator learns how to shut him down. Then people will wonder if the partying and blatant disregard for couth are what brought him down (Yes).

So far he is the Anti-Tebow and I think I kind of like it. He will probably have the same NFL career too. Not good enough but everyone likes him so he will stay in the spotlight despite him not playing a single down. but the fact that he is soaking it in and taking advantage of all the perks that come with what happened this year, I have no issues at all. If I were him, I would be popping Dom, hooking up with the cheap blonde next to him, going to courtside games. I would do it all and I don't blame him one bit for doing the same.
I personally think its great that he is living it up. I mean imagine being 20 years old again and everyone knows who you are. You get special treatment everywhere you go. The only thing I see that could be a problem is he is getting so much special treatment, he might accidentally slip up and take a little something on the side and screw up his whole career. Perfect example the club he was in was 21 and older only, yet he got in. Yes he was with mommy, but doesn't meet the age requirement to be in said establishment, not a huge deal but he is pushing the envelope.
Really glad cell phone cameras/videos were not around when i was in college.
Did this become a law or something?
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
As detailed in some above posts, a few states have laws that allow this (Ohio included). What makes this a problem though is that the club where this took place is a 21 and over club. I know from my travels to TX that I can not take my underage son into those establishments. However, maybe I could if he played football for A&M and won the Heisman. No preferential treatment there!!!!
JM can do as he pleases, but it sure doesn't sit well with many HS coaches. Many of us have spent our coaching careers trying to teach responsibility to our athletes. Most HS's have athletic contracts that prohibit drinking and inappropriate behavior. I know there are a hell of a lot of coaches out there who just don't give a flip (look at the Steubenville debacle), but there are many more who try to get their players to respect the sport and themselves. JM's antics are a slap in the face to all of us who try to work with student athletes to keep them on the straight and narrow.
Those getting a "kick" out of his antics only add to our frustration. How in the world are we supposed to convey any behavior standards to our HS athletes if you have the Heisman Trophy winner behaving like this?
I also find it amusing that some people who were, and still are, highly critical of TP's antics at OSU think that JM's behavior is somehow acceptable. How many on here were saying "where there is smoke there is fire" in regards to TP?
End rant!!!! (sorry, it was the coach coming out in me!)
Sir, if I could give you an up vote... I would. I agree that it does give young adults a bad image of how they should act when they "grow up." I personally feel that since he is 20 years old this probably wasn't thought out. I understand the frustration, I don't want to jump into the TP issue. I have nothing against manziel, I just hope he keeps his nose clean and doesn't give young people a bad role model to try and mold themselves into.
I get the fact that he's 20 yrs old and yes 20 yr olds are prone to doing more stupid stuff than the average bear, however I think more along the lines of A&M'S AD when he said "those who are given alot , alot is expected from" I think instead of being the bad boy he needs to man up some and accept the fact that he is now a role model of sorts because of the prestiege of the Heisman Trophy. When you are in the spotlight people watch....Thats just the way of the world
Battles are sometimes won by generals; wars are nearly always won by sergeants and privates. Football is no different, the guys down in the trenches win the games, not the coach.
