Tebow hypothetical

This is merely a speculation but if Tebow were to jump into coaching one day and was given given a choice between Urban and OSU or UF which oppurtunity does he take? I think his NFL days are numbered and he would make an excellent coach and you know both Urban and UF would be offering him the second he shows interest.

Literally I think he stays in the league for a long time... Urban may not even be here.

The Jets misused and underused him. He was brought there as a publicity stunt and it backfired. I think he actually could have some level of success in the NFL and play for several more years, but it would have to be the right system.

I don't know if the guy has coaching aspirations or not. People are always assuming players want to go into coaching. Here in Tennessee everyone talks like the exact second that Peyton Manning retires he will automatically become the offensive coordinator and/or head coach @ the University of Tennessee, which is silly.

If Tebow is interested in coaching I'm sure he'll take the opportunity that he feels is best for him. Think about this though, he doesn't have ties to OSU (other than helping destroy us in the NCG), but has a strong father-son relationship with Urban. He does obviously have ties to UF having played there, but he does not necessarily have a strong relationship with Muschamp or the current coaching staff.

I actually joke around that Rex Ryan and Tony sporano brought Tebow in to ruin him. Ryan must have known his team would suck and he would be out and Sporano already was fired last year. Maybe they did what they did to Tebow because he beat them last year and pretty much ruined them both. They exacted their Tebow Revenge even if it cost them their jobs!

just a joke but really, is the truth even more realistic?

Tebow is ratings so bet on the NFL trying to keep him in the league in some capacity. I wouldnt be surprised to see him as a head coach one day or a team president/GM, either.

I actually like Tebow and never really understood the hate that alot had for him. I think he will get another chance in Jacksonvile but I don't see alot of interest from other teams.  I think it needs to be seen if he can be an NFL QB, he was given minimal opportunities and he did take Denver to playoff win. If he ever wants to coach I'd welcome at OSU any day.

To answer the original question posed... he comes to OSU.  I heard (forget where) that he speaks with Urban weekly.  Hard to imagine him not going to OSU as long as Urban is here an there is an offer.

Was probably from Urban. He has said in multiple interviews that he speaks with Tebow weekly.

I don't think he'll ever be a great player in the NFL, but teams will keep him around as long as he's popular.  Teams sell a ton of his jerseys and he puts butts in seats.  As long has he still has that following, he'll be in the NFL.

I honestly believe Tebow would be a great addition to any coaching staff, especially considering the passionate and motivational speeches he could deliver in the locker room.

However I do not belive this is where his heart is.

Did he really have a foundation when he was in college.  I hated him when he was in college and the minute people started bashing his pro credentials I started rooting for him.

little known fact - in the past 5 seasons, since 2007 - Peyton Manning has exactly only 1 more playoff win (2 to 1) than Tim Tebow does. Of course, that will change in a few weeks.

While I like where your headed with this thought... I don't think Tebow will end up at OSU.  I think Urban has 10 years max and I see Tebow in the league at least 5 more years.  I know that leaves 5 years, but I don't see him coming to college to coach.  I think he would probably do missions/preach/foundation.

My thought is...  Chip Kelly leaves for NFL...  Chad Morris gets Oregon job.  Tom Herman will prob get a head job next if/when we win a BCS bowl/title and we get Oregon's o-coordinator.  I love their offense and would like to see us put up points like that with Urban's defense.  Would be nasty!

I suppose if Chad Henne can keep getting jobs, then Tebow can as well.
