Wonder if he gets passed up and Elder and/or Timmons commit and he misses the boat. Thoughts? I still hope he decides to be a Buckeye.

That would be something considering he's been as much as a lock as we thought we had. Would be a shame if he really wanted to come here and loses his spot but it'll be his own fault. Here's to hoping he just commits and gets it over with

Signing Day is Wednesday Feb. 6, but I doubt the staff would allow Timmons to commit before Gibson unless they have room for both of them or they know for certain that Gibson will be attending school elsewhere.

yeah, I believe it has been pretty much speculated that both Gibson and Timmons won't commit till NSD. of course Timmons just says that in general. Sounds like he would commit to OSU as soon as offered.

I think Gibson's has said this for awhile now, I wouldn't be suprised to see him committ this weekend though if he is allowed.

Dont knock gibson for waiting till NSD. Urban might have told him to do that, remember just like the All-American games, these announcements generate interest and excitement for the program. We just havent been used to this tactic because Tressel already had his recruits locked up much earlier. That being said, Gibson is ours and we take one more of timmons or corn elder.

IMO I think the staff will tell him this weekend that waiting until NSD isn't a good idea unless he gives them a silent verbal. The staff will want to know what their options are regarding Timmons and Elder.

He very well may not announce until signing day, as it seems he wants his moment in the spotlight...Dodson waited until NSD last year too, so at least we may get to watch the Cleveland Heights Press Conference again (MEGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG)

Wasn't Dodson a flip last year tho? Gibson isn't committed to anyone. I would think the staff wants to know where they need to go with Timmons and Elder after this weekend.

Do you expect any public commitments this weekend? I'd be very surprised if Elder, Timmons, and Gibson all walk away without the Buckeyes picking up a verbal.

Anderson was slow played by OSU and eventually committed elsewhere. It was a few years ago.

kind of. if i recall correctly, anderson was the higher rated prospect and there was a time when a lot of buckeye fans wanted him more

Honestly, given the patience the staff has shown with him and his grade situation, he really shouldn't be messing around, his roster spot could end up pulled out from under him.

Just a life long Buckeye fan wanting to talk to other lifelong Buckeye fans. Our honor defend, we will fight to the end for OOO HIIII OOOOOO!

If Elder/Timmons commit, then it's very unlikely that Gibson comes here. If they don't (or in Timmons case, doesn't get an offer) then Gibson's a Buckeye.

There's no way the staff takes Timmons/Elder over Gibson. I'd say the staff will know by this weekend what to do with Timmons/Elder.

That's my point. If for some reason the staff can't or won't take Gibson (grades or whatever) then we'll see an offer go out to Timmons or we'll see Elder commit. If that happens then we know Gibson isn't coming here.

On one hand, I understand what Gibson is doing. OSU slow played him and he is threatening a slow play back. On the other hand, I think it is a foolish move. I said before, if Quick chooses Louisville, no way Gibson isn't a Buckeye. I think when he visits, he will drop that front and at least silent verbal. I hope we can still find room for either Elder or Timmons. Maybe both if a transfer is announced in the meantime.

I don't think OSU slow played him at all. I think they said if he gets his grades to where he can get in, he is in. I don't think this had anything to do with Quick, just more about his eligibility.

Well, I am basing my opinion on the fact that the scholly numbers are tight and clearly OSU wanted Quick. I think the grades issue has been a convenient way to slow play him. 20 ACT is pretty good, if I remember right. Only coach and his staff know if Gibson was plan B, but that's what I think. Regardless, he'll be a Buckeye now. He is too enamored with OSU.

Hey, after Marshall, Jacobs, EZ, Baugh and possibly Conley and Lee, I think there are some really nice play makers in this recruiting class. So if Gibson wants to waiver, so be it.

I see Gibson and Timmons. I actually think Timmons gets his offer this weekend and commits. Gibson waits but commits on NSD. Elder will be left out.

For some reason I knew it would come down to these guys. Didn't think Dontre Wilson was coming or Stevens. Quick I hoped for but didn't quite expect him to come. It just made sense that the guy who wants to come to OSU the most will be the one who ends up here.
