Welcome to the big time! I am mostly happy for JT Barret. I think his knee will be fine with the OSU staff treating it... I know he is a redshirt, but learning Meyer's offense will be easier to digest with time. How awesome would Braxton have been by now if he had redshirted under this coaching staff?

I wish Marshall was on that list. The sooner he learns the offense the better.

"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.

Him and Jacobs both... If Jacobs could go through the fall weight program he might actually see the field a little more as a freshman.

Hey guys, what's the difference between a "preferred walk on" and just a regular ole walk on?

A preferred walk-on is someone who will probably earn a scholarship in their second year; at least that's how it is with my cross country friend.

According to Wikipedia:

In some instances, a college coach/recruiter may designate an athlete as a "preferred walk-on" during the scouting process. In this situation, the athlete is assured a spot on the team, but the coach is unable or unwilling to offer a scholarship.

Could be wrong, but I think at preferred walk on essentially means that if a scholarship opens up, due to attrition or something else, that they would be next in line to earn the scholarship.

Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!

It all has to do with getting on the team.  Walk-ons try out and compete for spots on the roster. The preferred walk ons are normally granted spots on the roster without trying out.
