IF Kansas State is able to beat Oregon, or Oklahoma is able to knock off A&M, i think its safe to say that the Big 12 is the best conference this season, even better than the SEC. I also think any more losses by the SEC will help dispel the myth about ESS SEE SEE superiority. It still will take Notre Dame winning the Orange bowl, but if the SEC comes out with a losing bowl season, I think the media will jump on board. While everyone loves a winner, people love to see the big guys get knocked down (see Ohio State - 2011 season).
So who are you rooting for tonight? Any reason why i shouldn't root for the Big 12 conference to help put the SEC back in its place?

I would love to see both SEC teams lose. I think the SEC is the better conference but they are not as superior as the media likes to think. Not sure I can pull for Notre Dame though
Seeing how a have a burning hate for Alabama I will be rooting for Notre Dame. But at the same time recruiting will be maybe a slight tougher seeing how Notre Same is our neighbor. And last I say go Johnny football.
Buckeye_For_Life
I think it all depends on the National Championship game. If Alabama wins, it doesn't matter what the rest of the conference did - all anyone will see is that the SEC dynasty continues because they remain in control of the MNC.
That said, I will of course be rooting for Oklahoma to knock off A&M, and...*sigh* Notre Dame...

I really like Bill Snyder so I'll be cheering for Kansas State. And I guess I'd prefer Oklahoma over Texas A&M for an SEC loss, but in reality I don't care too much.
I absolutely despise Notre Dame though. I'd take another year of SEC SEC SEC over them winning a national championship in a heartbeat.
Notre Dame" haha though Notre Same was funny
Buckeye_For_Life
I root for no team other than the Buckeyes.
I'll pick Oregon in a blowout = Kelly gone (regardless of outcome but if he wins big it'll be a nice parting gift before the NCAA sends the Ducks quacking back to the stone age) = Wilson comes to OSU?
Champions Bleed Scarlet & Gray
^^ Oregon, for the same reasons. You beat me to it.
Oregon, because I picked them in the bowl challenge. I also will be rooting for Oklahoma.
I will be pulling for Nn ooTrrrrre D aaamME. It will be even harder to do it than it was to type it!!!
An angry fan...rooting for an angry team...led by angry coaches
My rooting interest is very easily reconciled:
1) Bucks
2) ND / Rest of the Big 10
3) Anyone playing the SEC
4) The smaller conferences - MAC / Big East / MWC
5) ACC
6) Big 12
7) Pac 12
You root for ND? Why? :/
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
I can relate to ND. Catholic, Midwest, trying to do things the right way etc.
I'm rooting for Good Entertaining Football Games tonight, tomorrow and on Monday.
I would rather have the BUCKEYES knock off a two time defending NC Alabama next year in thier 26th win in a row......as I hate ND nearly as much as tSUN.
Being a K-state alum, I am definitely rooting for the wildcats but I am a little nervous about the defense being able to contain the ducks. I really hope Bill Snyder and Collin Klein are winners tonight. (fingers crossed)
Who I want to win:
Oregon
Oklahoma
Alabama
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
My rooting priorities outside of Ohio State (of course):
1) B1G teams
2) Anyone playing an SEC school
3) Anyone playing Notre Dame.
4) The little guy in David v Goliath matchups.
Of course, all of these are fungible in certain situations.
so i have to ask who are you pulling for during the BCS championship game?
i find myself extremely conflicted during that game. On the one hand i really hate the SEC. On the other i live and indiana, and the doomer fans coming out of the wood work has annoyed the hell out of me. plus coupled with the IU resurgance has made living in this state sport wise is pissing me. mainly because all iu basketball fans are doomer football fans
I am pulling for ND. I am more anti-SEC than anti-ND. I will still hate them throughout the process, I just hate them less than I hate Alabama.
+1 for using the word "fungible" in a sentence
My OSU education at work...
Go Ducks, Sooners, and Irish
well, I love Kansas State's coach - Bill Snyder. Nobody does more with less. Seriously - he built that program up to a #1 ranking in a few years with 2 star & JUCO recruits. Unreal. He kinda reminds me of my grandpa when he was alive, too. I also like how he's not flashy at all, i.e.: he wears an old team/bowl-issued turtle neck from a Cotton Bowl, with the Cotton Bowl logo on it...kinda cracks me up for some reason. Just seems down to earth.
I just have never been a Chip Kelly fan. Something smug & arrogant about him, maybe it's just me.
But, tonight - I'll easily be rooting for K-State to knock off Oregon. Tough task, though.
Re: Flashy - I agree but their unis were bad back in the day and they still are. The best change we ever made to the unis was scrapping the aluminum foil pants.
I don't get why the people think SEC is always over rated by the media but Oregon isn't. Who has Oregon every actually beat? To me K-State is a better version of Stanford, who once again beat a favored Oregon squad. Every time a good team gets actually gets time to prepare for Oregon's attack, said team wins. Snyder is a good enough coach, and K-State is a good enough team that I believe they can beat Oregon. I could very well be wrong, but until Oregon actually gets it done and wins a big game against a really good team, I'll believe it when I see it with them.
I don't think the SEC is over rated I think they are the best which is exactly why I want to see them GO DOWN!
My argument about Oregon is that they never beat teams that have equal or more talent than they do. Case in point:
OSU
Auburn
LSU
My comment wasn't in response to you, I was just making a point I feel is valid. A lot of people seem to think Oregon is just going to wax K-State, and I just don't see it that way. Every year I hear, "This year Oregon is legit" then they beat down by the only decent team on their schedule, or they lose to a team like Stanford who plays tough D.
I've never understood why every year people are so willing to believe Oregon is legit, but the same people think the SEC is overrated. The SEC teams, typically win the big games(at least 2 against Oregon) Oregon never seems to be able to win the big games, like the games above you mention.
I agree.
I think Oregon is as overrated as they are every year, and I think the SEC is overrated THIS year.
I hope Oregon gets destroyed. Something about Chip Kelly labeled him as a douche-nozzle in my mind the first time I saw him on the sidelines (against Boise State), and nothing he has done has changed that. Strange thing is, I used to like Oregon...
I think the SEC is relatively down this year but if they win against ND it's hard to say they are over rated.
I see your point, but I think you could still say they are overrated as one team does not a conference make. The SEC hasn't performed as well OOC as in previous years. The line pushed by CBS and ESPN is that the SEC is to be placed on a pedestal with all the other conferences at their feet. Maybe in the past, as much as it sucked to admit it, that was the case. I don't think that is true this year.
EDIT: But what do I know? I'm just observing from my couch...
I don't really care or think about what the media is feeding. I think the same could be said for most people who spend their free time going to an OSU (football) message board.
While I agree with most of your points, you can't make a claim for any other conference being better this year. I have more SEC fatigue than anyone but somebody (ND?) needs to knock them from their perch.
Yep... which is exactly why I am sucking it up and rooting for the evil leprechauns...
SEC always win the games that count the *most*, like Nat. Ch. games (Ok. St. would not have won last year if given the chance). Until that changes, they are not overrated or "down" (though CC I do see your modifier "relatively", and I kind of agree... a few dents in the armor).
Oregon has largely disappointed in BCS games lately, going 1-2.
Loss to us, loss in NC game, and they beat Wisky last year.
Would like to see KSU, OU, and ND win.
