I saw on 247 comp rankings that we moved to the #2 spot for the class of 2013. We moved up from 3 when USC had a decommit. If we get mitchell and johnson, like predicted, and can get one of bell or quick, or both, we should be the top class this year. we'll most likely get gibson amd worley later on as well, which would be 5 more 4-star players, bringing us to 20 total 4-star some a few 5-star players which is crazy considering we'll only have 24 commits. With the level of talent we've got, and if we get these other top players, we'd have to be the #1 class in the country and maybe one of the best classes top to bottom we've ever had.

While this could be true, I have to think Alabama and maybe others will close strong as well. It will be tough to jump them, but I am more than happy with a top 2 or 3 class.
We also jumped USC in the ESPN rankings now and currently sitting with the 4th best class, while TSUN stays at 6th.
i think others close well for sure but with the amount of overall talent from top to bottom in this class we should be the best around. we'll potentially have a total of 13-15 commits in both army and under armor games, which would be the most of any team. not to mention, we've got more guys playing in the other 2 AA games as well so around 15-17 of our commits will be in some form of an AA game pretty good.
Ohio State WILL have the best average star rating per player when all is said and NLOI are signed. Mark my words.
That seems quite far fetched, since we are currently at 91.46 and USC is at 96.17. USC may be losing a recruit or two, but literally everyone they had in their small class were studs, so as long as they don't reach for anyone late, they will destroy everyone by average star rating.
yeah...usc kills the star average. they have a small class, and it seems like almost half of them are 5* (ok not quite, but its a ton). not a single 3* recruit on their board
Won't happen, Alabama will have higher rated class in both quality and overall ranking.
Also, don't most recruiting sites "redo" their ratings once more after signing day? What I'm getting at is some guys could be rated lower or higher in some cases.
I envision Shane Morris dropping a bit for UM... And perhaps some of our guys, who seem to be looking pretty good at the All-American game practices, could get rated higher?
the quality of players we're getting is ridiculous. i keep hearing good things about all of our commits from the practices. bosa, marshall, elliot, baugh, burrows, lisle and woodard almost all of our guys have been performing really well from what ive read. id think having strong performances alot of our guys move up the final rankings. i dont remember a year we had so many excellent players in one class.
Cant forget Sprinkle, even though hes not at any all america games
upvote. Im a big sprinkle fan his tape n numbers in ne ohio div 1 are nasty. If he would've camped more i think hed be a lot more highly rated.

I think Norte dame will finish number 1 but I could definitely seeing us finishing 2
dont care where the class is 'ranked'... think the players we have in it already and the guys who possibly come on board are all going to be some outstanding players for us
to me its all about momentum with recruiting and rankings play into that momentum. Its just like geting exposure with gys annuncing at the all american games. recruits see rankings and where teams are ranked and theyre ranked. It may not be the biggest factor but it definitely plays a part but in the end regardless of rankings its how guys eventually play on the field.
As amazing as this class will be when it"s all said and done the 2014 Georgia bred class will also be dominant! Man this is a great time to be a buckeye fan! The offense will be a lot like the bowl game on now too!
Someone did a quick calc in another thread, we won't be #1. Alabamas class is just too good in ratings.
The caliber of player's that UM is recruiting is amazing as compared to the type of player's JT recruited. Hopefully these highly ranked classes will reach their full potential and help TOSU win a few Nat'l Championships. I'm not convinced highly ranked classes mean much though, just ask Univ of Texas!!!
That's got to do alot with coaching at Texas too
UFM has proven he can take the talent and develop it. Mack Brown is a joke and is wasting highly ranked class after highly ranked class.
It really doesn't matter.
If we land bell quick gibson mitchell johnson we could stay at 2 or even maybe possibly jump to 1

I know that we are #8 right now on Rivals, but if we get both Johnson and Mitchell this weekend then we will vault all the way to #3 (if other teams don't get any commits of their own, which may be unlikely).
Rivals only calculates your points for your best 20 recruits, and since we only have 19 right now, getting that 20th and a 21st to take the place of our punter Townsend will send us shooting up the team rankings. Additions after that will help if they replace a lower ranked recruit, but they won't make as big a difference as the next two.
im so pumped about this regime... excellent coaches and excellent recruits= big time results on the field
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
I think texas a&m will sign 47 recruits and finish 1st.............and 2nd. :)-
