I think we demolish Oregon....at the end of the seaon though, definitly not the beginning. Now that I've watched all the teams in their respective bowl games, the only team that would beat us at least 7 out of 10 is Bama. I agree with Urban's sentiment at the end of the season. Our Buckeyes could run with just about anyone at the end of the seaon. Can't wait to see a Braxton with polished passing abilities and defense reading skills in our ever evolving offense.

No way we "demolish" Oregon. We tend to get cocky because of our 12-0 record in the B1G and think we can beat anybody with ease. Oregon is a very very dangerous team. Dont overlook them....
We didn't "demolish" very many teams this past season, so I very much doubt we could do it to Oregon.
But finishing behind the Ducks in the final poll, something I didn't even see as a possibility, proves once again that an awful lot of people who should know better are swayed by high point totals. A team that wins all its games 56-35 will always be ranked ahead of a team that wins all its games 17-3. That's the reason why the Buckeyes were solid underdogs to Oregon prior to the 2010 Rose Bowl, and why they will be underdogs to them again the next time they play in the Rose Bowl.
I doubt we demolish them, but we would "shock" people and beat them. It's a simple rule that has yet to prove wrong with Oregon: Any team with a good deep D-line beats Oregon.
I've made a fortune betting on Stanford a few times, USC, LSU, Auburn, Boise State, and our Buckeyes. Only miss was Oregon State this year. People get blinded by the flash and dash.
The thing is with the stupid-ass ban we haven't played any big games since the 2010 Sugar Bowl that never happened. We need to somehow pick up some big game experience.
@ JHESSE17- no conference championship and no BCS bowl, you'll have idiots ranking us anywhere from 3-20 probably. Not saying it's fair,it just is what it is.More fuel for the fire next year!!
It is BS, but it's in the structure of the polls. Same way that SCar is ahead of Florida even though they smoked them and Bama is ahead of TAMU even though they beat Bama at home...Oregon > Stanford, etc.
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!

This is ridiculous...how can an undefeated team be second to Oregon who didn't play in their conference championship either...??? What's wrong with these voters...???? 12-1 is better than 12-0???? WOW!

I doubt we demolish Oregon, they are on the same level as Bama from an athleticism perspective. I do think that we earned the #2 spot though.

I knew it.
"They didn't win their conference championship" is probably the argument. Neither did Oregon.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
It's also a good thing Florida and LSU lost. So there is no argument for a sec champ game next year.
Wherever you are, there you be!
If Bama loses close to A&M, but wins the rest of their games, i'm sure they'll argue another "All SEC" title game.
"BUT SABAN IS TEH AWESOME, YOU CAN'T LEAVE OUT BAMAAA!!!!!"

I'm glad we're number three and not two. Just more fuel for the fire next year.
Our honor Defend!
Anyone who puts an undefeated team 10th must be crazy.

SCOTTC.
Third is fair. In my opinion, Alabama and Oregon look far better than anyone else and either would have given us trouble.
Class of 2008
For finishing 3rd, Urban gets a $150,000 bonus.... If we had finished #2 he would have gotten $250,000.
Poor guy. How will he support himself? ;-)
How does UF end up 9 and Louisville 13 when they are both 11-2 and Louisville smoked UF?
That's BS in my opinion.

Should've been #2. Oregon probably jumped us on the strength of the 1 point safety. Or, maybe that entire Fiesta Bowl.
Class of 2010.
