As a person who was annoyed with all the hype they were receiving this season, I was especially pleased to see them get thrashed in the Cotton Bowl tonight. I'm no Herbie hater by any means (on the contrary, I usually have a lot of respect for what he says) but I thought the abuse he heaped on Northern Illinois after their selection to the Orange Bowl was uncalled for. Plus the fact that in the same breath he used the NIU selection to bemoan the fact that Oklahoma didn't get a BCS bowl berth. Does anybody really think Oklahoma deserved a BCS bid now? Admittedly, A&M is damn good and NIU didn't exactly justify their selection in the Orange Bowl but if we look at Oklahoma's body of work, their signature wins consist of a down Texas team and Oklahoma St. Not exactly a compelling argument in my opinion. Maybe I'm just being overly tough on Oklahoma and some of you guys can inform me about where I'm wrong but, all in all, I'm pleased that the Oklahoma hype machine got dealt a serious blow tonight (ditto for Florida with their loss to Louisville).

I wanted Oklahoma to win because a Texas A&M win just leads to more "SEC is too good" talk. I swear at the end of the game I could faintly hear from some A&M fans chanting S-E-C! S-E-C! Amazing how joining the SEC automaticaly makes a lot of your fan base as arrogant as every SEC team fanbase. People should be respectful of the other team and their conference. Just my opinion.
I get that for sure but for me, personally, I don't even consider A&M really part of the SEC yet. This was only their first year and I think the fact that they came into the SEC their first year and dominated kind of actually took away some of the SEC's mystique a bit so I appreciated them for that!
A&M didn't need to join the SEC to get that way.
The story tonight is the A&M offense and Manziel--but if the Buckeyes had lost this exact same way, the story would be all Ohio State. The sports media amnesia about Oklahoma's multiple January failures is puzzling.
The most "loud mouth, disrespect" poster on 11W.
3-5 in BCS games, 1-3 in MNC games. #BIGGAMEBOB
So true, man!
tOSU vs A&M 2014 NC. Shut them up Braxton,
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Johnny Football vs. Brax? Man, that would be such an epic game!! Especially if the Bucks came out on top ;)
big game bob needs a new nickname because lately all he's done is choke
Oklahoma hasn't deserved hype in a very long time. Unless you count beating a very, very bad 8-4 UConn team in the Fiesta Bowl a couple of years ago, they haven't showed up on the big stage in a long time. As Dr. House said, the "Big Name Bob" nickname needs to go. With the recruits he is getting in, there is no reason he should have been getting housed like he did twice this year.
Big 12 = overrated. No defemse the past few years.
You could give more justification of Oklahoma deserving a shot at a BCS game than NIU IMO. UF deserved to be in a bowl game just out of body of work alone. I thought when the rankings came out in week 7 they got shafted. I thought they should have been #1 when the rankings first came out. Now they def. did not play like one of the best teams in CFB against Louisville and alot of their bad habits ended up biting them in the butt in that game which I loved seeing.
