Ohio State targets on ND and Alabama

Does anybody know what players on ND and Alabama had offers from Ohio State or had the Buckeyes as a finalist before choosing one of the other schools? Depriest on Alabama obviously comes to mind but can anyone else mention some others? I'm sure there are plenty. It'll give me a chance tonight to watch the game and think what might have been

Good call, totally forgot about that guy. I just looked up his season stats: 1 catch for negative 5 yards, 1 carry for 7 yards... 2 touches for a net 2 yards

I beleive he returns kicks as well. I think he has been somewhat successful in doing so.

I think he only averages about two yards on punt returns.

Trey Depriest, from Springfield, OH, was down to OSU and Bama. Still disappointed he went south.

Yeah, Depriest is the big one that came to mind but I've gotta believe there's more, especially with all the overlap with our recruiting and Notre Dame's

Pretty sure Golson (sp?) was offered by Tressel, but I thought we backed off him when Braxton committed. Could be wrong though.

At first glance from the recruiting "targets" for the years 2009-2012, according to 247 Sports, here is a quick list of players strongly considering Ohio State, but who chose ND instead:

Ben Koyack - TE from PA
Ishaq Williams - DE/OLB from NY
Jarrett Grace - ILB from Cincinnati
Jarron Jones - OT from NY
Davonte' Neal - ATH from AZ

Here is the list of Alabama players:

Trey DePriest - ILB from Springfield
Jeoffrey Pagan - DE from NC
Amari Cooper - WR from Miami (not sure how seriously he was considering OSU)

I don't watch enough ND to know if those guys contribute but obviously Depriest and Amari Cooper are big time players

Koyack is the 3rd TE now, Williams 2nd team OLB who plays a lot on passing downs, Grace is behind Te'o and plays special teams, will start next year, Jones isn't playing this year but will be in the defensive line rotation next year and Neal is the punt returner. Hasn't done much in the return game because ND is in punt safe 98% of the time.

Yeah I watched a few Bama games this year and wasn't too impressed with Depriest. I know he's still young, but wouldn't call him a big time player just yet.
