Can I ask, why the hell are we listed as a potential school? No visit, no offer... Yet we are 1/3 against USC and ND? The recruit is the one who picks the "potential" hats, right? If so, why is OSU even listed... Very confused.

He was probably still hoping for the offer. I truly don't know what happened, but all signs say the kid was really interested in us, and an offer would have shot us up his board.
That being said, it sounds like the kid is all Notre Dame. I'm sure the staff knows his situation, and if he was as enamored with South Bend as it sounded like he might be, it may have been a matter of allocating time on more likely commits.
Yeah. I mean Oregon yanked hteir recruittin bc they felt he was "playing" them or whatever. Just kind of confused as to where it came from, beause with all the coverage I follow, I haven't even seen him as like even a potential OSU person. So weird to see it listed w/o offer and no buzz at all from what I saw. TY.
Who knows? Maybe we offered him late and it wasn't made public? Maybe he wants to be a preferred walk-on? It would be quite the coup, that I can tell you.
It was theorized in another thread that Brian Kelly may be the one that encouraged him to do it, to make it look like ND 'beat out' OSU and USC for a recruit. I guess this has happened before with other ND recruits. Wouldn't surprise me in the least.
I mean...wouldn't that hold more water if we'd actually offered the kid?

Hahaha. Wish I could upvote that pic
I'm pretty sure Kelly has more important things on his mind than making it seem like ND beat out OSU for a recruit, especially when he has already done so. I don't know where ESPN was getting it was a ND/SC/OSU recruitment, but that was never the case.
