Everybody knows that Meyer has hit it big in Georgia recently. Getting a commitment from former Auburn commit, Trey Johnson, an Under Armour All American was HUGE. Especially at a position of need. But it also opens the door for possibly more Georgia kids to eventually come to Columbus.
Meyer has been offering Georgia kids left and right and is hitting it hard when it comes to these 2014 prospects.
Meyer has OSU sitting at the top of Raekwon McMillan's list and thats a big deal. For Meyer to have the #1 ILB, #1 Georgia prospect and he's a 5 star at a position of need, then that is a BIG Deal.
Ive noticed Meyer has offered Raekwon McMillan (ILB), Elisha Shaw (DT), Kevin Mouhon (ILB), Kalvarez Bessent (CB), Lorenzo Carter (DE), Demarre Kitt (WR), Deshaun Watson (QB), Myles Autry (ATH), Nick Glass (S), Andrew Williams (DE), Dante Sawyer (DE), Nick Chubb (HB), & Orlando Brown (T).
Not only are they offered, but about 90% of them have OSU towards the top of there list if not in there top 3. OSU has a great chance to make a HUGE splash in Georgia for 2014, bringing in some "SEC style players" lol.
But I love McMillan most out of all these prospects, but I also really like the other ILB Offer, Kevin Mouhon from Norcross, GA. Myles Autry has OSU #1 and will most likely be apart of this class, but Mouhon attends the same high school and has OSU in his top 3 per 247 sports. (Lorenzo Carter, DE offer also attends same HS)
Here is his 247 profile and Hudl video I found.

Hope he is in this LB class for 2014, as this class will be huge!
DO ANY OF THE STAFF MEMBERS ON HERE KNOW OUR CHANCES WITH THIS KID AND IF MEYER IS REALLY GOING AFTER THIS KID/HAS COMMITABLE OFFER?
Go Buckeyes!!

No clue on Mouhon, to be honest.
okay thanks. atleast the interest seems mutual, which is never a bad thing

I think everyone believes the top 4 LB targets are McMillan, Dante Booker, Clifton Garrett and Kyle Berger. Mouhon is most likely a fall back guy if the staff doesn't get any of the LBs mentioned and if they want to take 4 LBs in the 2014 class.
After McMillan, is there a consensus on the order of wanted LB targets? Garrett and Booker have always been mentioned at the top of the list, but with Berger supposedly ready to blow up in the recruiting circles, has he surpassed either of these two?
"What we do in life echoes in eternity"
Based on what I know the recruting pecking order for 2014 LBs is this:
1A) McMillan
1B) Garrett
1C) Booker Jr.
1D) Berger
I just don't know if we can or will take 4 LBs in 2014. But as of right now I think all of them have very legitimate interest in being Buckeyes. 1C and 1D are more likely to end their recruitment(s) earlier than 1A and 1B but I hope that doesn't mean a 1A or a 1B would be left out for waiting longer.

Meyers concern for LB depth and the way they have pursued 2014 linebackers I think they take 4 lb's
Favorite Buckeye: Obviously BJ Mullens
If option 1C and 1D commit early and option 1A and 1B want to commit, TOSU takes 4 LBer's in '14!
In my opinion, all 4 of those guys are recruits you cant say no to!
*If* we get all 4, we might have to consider running a 3-4 defense. Lots of talent if we can snag these guys along with Mitchell and Johnson this year. Loaded at LB if so.
Champions Bleed Scarlet & Gray
so how do we fit in all the Dline recruits into the 3 positions? So far, the Dline has much bigger recruits on it and we are going to not play one of them to fit another of these linebackers?
I don't think so! Also, this defense doesn't fit a 4-3 or 3-4 alignment. It runs hybrid positions like Leo, Viper and Star. so really, no reason to switch to any base defense when the whole defense itself is whatever it wants to be.
Anybody have the scoop on Lorenzo Carter? Looks like a beast.
Here is my question, doesn't osu run a nickel package a majority of the time having the star linebacker in so we really only run 2 linebackers most of the time. We took 4 LBs last year and 3 this year with Worley do we really need 4 lbs in this class. I thought 3 would be plenty especially if we get 3 of the top lbs in the country. And also we still will have reduced schollies for this class with other needs like Wrs OL and more defensive linemen
I see where ir coming from about the reduced schollies and stuff. I honestly feel like with the way Meyer has recruited the DL, 2014 is the year he could take only 1 or 2 DL and not miss a beat. Especially since we do have limited schollies, this will be a smaller class (even though i think Meyer will stretch this to bout 20) and we have needs at WR, OL and the possibility of wanting 2 QBs since Jones could be leaving/ need new starter after Miller leaves.
I just feel like this class will reach bout 20 some commits and Meyer will take more LBs than what ppl think. I like how Meyer recruits the trenches, but i really think this is the year he needs to take a small DL class and fill the class with other positions. When all is said and done, i wouldnt be shocked if Meyer got this class at 24 or 25 again as he does every year. Also i dont see us taking a full 25 this year as our options r going away with very little amount of players available that r worth a schollie. I think the staff will flirt with others, but will a schollie or a few into 2014.
I would love to have a class of
QB: DeShaun Watson
HB: Jalen Hurd, Johnathan Haden
TE: Jeb Blazevich
WR: Thaddeus Snodgrass, Lonnie Johnson
OL: KC McDermott, Roderick Johnson, 2 of Nick Richardson, Kyle Trout & Damian Prince
DL: Lorenzo Carter, Marcelys Jones, Dante Booker Jr
LB: Raekwon McMillan, Clifton Garrett, Kyle Berger, Kevin Mouhon
DB: Jabrill Peppers, Jalen Tabor, DeAndre Payne, Damon Webb, Laurence Jones
ATH: Marshon Lattimore, Mules Autry
would easily be the #1 class IMO. Everyome seems to be a legit option. Except for maybe Tabor and Payne both at CB. But OSU is on the shortlist for both & with some visits, OSU could sky rocket to the top.
#Buckeyes
Here's mine:
1 QB: Deshaun Watson
2 RB: Jalen Hurd, Myles Autry
4 WR: Marshon Lattimore, Lonnie Johnson, Demarre Kitt, Drake Harris
1 TE: Bryce Dixon
4 OL: KC McDermott, Marcelys Jones, Quenton Nelson, then an Ohio kid like Richardson or Trout
2 DL: Dante Sawyer, Malik McDowell (Kind of a stretch, but I think Carter goes to UGA)
4 LB: Raekwon McMillan, Clifton Garrett, Kyle Berger, Dante Booker
3 DB: Damon Webb, Nick Glass, Jabrill Peppers
1 Kicker: Someone we haven't heard of but who runs a 4.3 40 and can bench press a Toyota Prius.
Total: 22
I definitely think that Jonathan Haden can/probably will end up in this class, but I don't see how we could take him over Autry, and I don't think we can say no to any of those receivers. Although I think I heard somewhere that we could maybe move Haden to defensive back, but I'm also not sure that ends up happening. I also would love to see LJ Scott in this class, but I don't think it'll happen. Also, it's entirely possible that our class is much smaller than this, but I think we'll have some guys go pro next year.
Also, my wish list comes true, we'll end up with 5 Ohio kids, 3 kids from up north, and 6 kids from Georgia. That would be insane.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
Marcelys Jones is an OL and Dante Booker jr is a linebacker. Way too small to fit at DL.
don't you want D'Shawn Hand on the Dline? Don't you want Marshon Lattimore at WR?
Booker isnt to small to play DE. Ive seen him play in person several times. He's between 6'3 or 6'4. And he is still going to grow. I also read on here from one of the staff members if they wouldnt be surpised to see Booker grow into a DE.
Marshon Lattimore is listed as an ATH on my list. Becuz he will most likely play Corner at OSU/in college. I love him at receiver, but Meyer told him he could play wherever if he commits to OSU and Marshon prefers Corner.
I want Hand in this class, but I really dont think we will land him. I said my predictions are realistic not a wish list. Its my wish list of the guys that we have a legitimate shot at landing. Like us in there top group type of guys.
Also Marcelys Jones is an OL, your correct, but many ppl/staff members think Jones could/will play DT at OSU. He has been compared to Jonathan Hankins.
so, i seem to be correct also and stand behind my opinion.

I like Mouhon's tape. I've gotten used to seeing a MLB be mostly a pass rusher in HS, whereas he looks like he has a nose for coverage as well. If nothing else, I'm impressed by that. Then again, he looks great rushing and on kick coverage too. Thanks for the heads up.
I thought the same thing and I think the staff is after him for a top LB target. I would love for Meyer and Co. to land McMillan and Mouhon both from Georgia. That would piss off some ppl in the south! Lol
#Buckeyes
It wouldn't surpise me one bit if Urban takes 4 lb in 2014. Obviously its a position of need (still) and especially when your fullback has to switch to Linebacker because of injuries and how often does that actually work out? I think we've learned you can never have enough linebackers
Battles are sometimes won by generals; wars are nearly always won by sergeants and privates. Football is no different, the guys down in the trenches win the games, not the coach.
I think in the end, a lot of this will come down to how well the freshman/sophomore LB classes play this season. If you've got Mitchell/Johnson/Perry/Perkins/Marcus/etc. all performing at a high level, I doubt the staff will want to spend 4 more scholarships on the position. More like 2 or possibly 3, IMO.
By the same token, recruits will see whether or not these young LB's are producing, and whether or not there is a good chance they'll see the field right away. If there are already talented young players on the roster, as well as 2 more top LB recruits already committed (let's say McMillan and Booker, for example) then there is a good chance OSU may not look as enticing to a Garrett, Mouhon, Berger, and so on.
Either way, everyone associated with OSU will feel much, much better if they could see some production and real signs of growth out of the LB's currently on the roster.
