Mike Farrell of Rivals is tweeting some interesting stuff... I haven't exactly learned how to post them on here yet so I'll type it:
1.) "Could be some huge news brewing for #Gators fans if what I'm hearing is the and accurate."
2.) "Good news potentially for #Gators, not so good for #NotreDame."
If anyone has another recruit that UF and ND battled hard for that he might be talking about, please post it... But I remember there were rumors a few months back that Anzalone was flirting with UF after committing to ND.
Is he really about to flip again?

Is this kid really going to do it again?
"if irony were made of strawberries, we' d all be drinking a lot of smoothies right now."
Wouldn't be surprised, correct me if I'm wrong but, Ohio State was Alex's #1 choice with ND #2. His father's choice was Florida. He got him to decommit from Ohio State so I wouldn't be surprised if he got him to decommit from ND too.
NAILED IT
This is what I was thnking. Dr. Anzalone wanted him at UF. Alex wanted to stay in the Midwest. The seasons they listed are coincidental (this one worse than before). The Dr got his way, but I don't think UF is at all the best fit and Alex may be looking to transfer in a few years.
Cause I couldn't go for three
I feel like Anzalone's dad is Cecil Newton 2.0
@NDatRivals is reporting he has de-committed from ND and plans to enroll early at UF... Wow! We obviously didn't need this kid. Way too much drama. I'll take Mitchell and Johnson any day.

I was just going to post this! I hope with everything he has put fans through that he is a bust. Even greater of a chance of that now that he is in the SEC

Wow this is ridiculous! I laughed when I saw it, any possible excuse to break a commitment. Good luck dealing with it Florida, kid was forced to go there by his father. Seems a little shaky to me
"Alex Anzalone . . . is decommitted from [Ohio State/Notre Dame] due to the [Brian Kelly interview/cyberstalker] . . ." Anyone remember those children's books, Choose Your Own Adventure? This sounds like Sal Anzalone . . . . errrr, I mean Alex Anzalone likes to play a new game called Chose Your Own Pretext. Too bad we won't get to see another chapter because Sal, errrrr . . . I mean, Alex is probably genuinely committed this time to Florida.
This could be a great Mad Libs as well!
"I can accept failure, but I can't accept not trying." -Woody Hayes
Wow, sounds like that Brian Kelly possibility could really happen. I mean, since FL was up there on his list anyway, maybe he was just avoiding the possiblity of Kelly leaving, or maybe he knows more than we do how likely it will happen.
Can't wait to see how this plays out. It's not like Kelly to suddenly leave a team - I mean he was so professional with Cinci...oh wait....
I don't think Anzalone knows more than anyone else. I think he was just using it as a convenient excuse. We'll see how Kelly likes it when someone up and leaves on him. Assuming he stays, of course--I think Kelly leaving the country was a way to let the big game letdown subside so he can make a decision.
I guess his father convinced him that "Something's just not right at [Notre Dame] . It's not for him"
The power of Dr. Anzalone.
Well... He went from getting cussed at by Brian Kelly to getting cussed at by Will Muschamp...
Does this mean Brian Kelly could actually make the jump to the NFL? Or was Anzalone just looking for a reason to de-commit and go to UF?
It sounds like they're using coincidental events as a reasoning behind the decommitments. You don't decommit and then plan to enroll early just because a coach interviewed with an NFL team. If there was any doubt as to what he was doing or what what going on, you'd think that even with a commitment to Florida would be met with a little cool down period. With the sudden jump and enrollment, it just stinks to high heaven of a kid who was ready to jump ship awhile back and was given an outlet to do so.
And next year he will seek a transfer...
Anzalone and his father are going to be a headache wherever the kid ends up.
Dad got his way at the expense of his son's integrity. Good job pops.
dad living through his son.
He'll pry end up transferring in a couple years.
I wouldn't be surprised if he came back to OSU and was told there was no longer a scholarship available for him. Just a feeling. why would you pick Florida? If the stuff about his Dad is all true I feel bad for the kid.
Florida isn't exactly a bad destination. Despite losing to Lousivlle, it's still a top program with a great defense that puts players in the NFL. A lot of defensive players left early from FL this year to go the NFL (not sure if they were LBs) but it may have made the depth chart look favorable. That or he just watched the NCG and figured that only SEC teams have a shot at winning the title (although Meyer is bringing in the same players he did at FL and is a better coach than Muschump so it's probably the Dad's influence that put FL over the top).
Wow. This (if true) definitely makes him one of the top 10 primadonnas since I've been following recruiting (since 2002). Never would have seen him flipping from Notre Dame.
this just reminds me to no end of the Gunner Kiel situation that played out in indiana.
Wow, doesn't Florida have like 6 LB commits already, too?
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!
~Bo Schembechler
Good call, Hail. I actually meant to bring that up in my post above and forgot...this just made me remember it. It's one thing to load up on OL talent in a class, but since most teams are playing 2 LB's and a hybrid viper/star position or something of that nature, how do 6 LB's ever see the field?
Even they stick with the 4-3 defense, half of them will never see the field. There's one thing to be said about bringing in enough players for competition too, but usually you'll see that over a few years; not in one class. Just mind boggling.
Anzalone makes 5, according to Rivals, with no ATH commits. Still...hard to imagine all of them seeing the field - or signing with the Gators.
I believe Florida was recruiting him on offense which is why he didn't want to go there in the first place (also since they were full at LB as you point out).
"Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives."................
I don't believe for one second that this is about Brian Kelly.. Just a convenient excuse.
Charles Waugh must be a Notre Dame fan now
Out of respect for any fellow Buckeye fans that might be Catholic, I will resist the urge to follow up with a joke...
I usually don't talk bad about these kids, but this kid is one of those softies that just can't stand being at fault for anything. If you want to decommit from OSU, its ok, but just own it. Don't say its because of some cyberstalker and throw a school under the bus. Same with this, you want to play at Florida. That is a valid reason to go there. Why the need to cover your butt with the "because Kelly interviewed at Philly".
Own your decisions, son.

THE Ohio State University
I actually feel bad for him, since it seems to be his dad who is telling him/ coercing him where to go. Who knows what type of relationship they have. Without any outside pressure from pops, I bet he would still be at OSU.
What a joke..
Bullet - Dodged
It would be hilarious, though, if this was a valid reason and Brian Kelly does infact jump ship.
I think the issue is not that he is open to his recuritment again, but that he is now enrolling tomorrow at Florida.
What ever school he goes to, I feel sorry for it!!
The family has issues.
Unless of course he flips back to OSU. I would be happy with him or Foster, headcases or not.
i was going to post a witty picture and/or gif to describe my feelings on this. but then, i realized this kid doesnt deserve a witty picture or gif. he's a loser.
ok, i couldnt resist...sparkle text and everything.
It's been about an hour now since the news came out. Has he decommitted from Florida yet?
LOL and 1 upvote
At least he has a half-way decent reason this time. Last time it was just.... uuhhh because? (maybe the stalker dude, but that was never confirmed)
I was disappointed last week because he looked pretty good in the UA game, but after reading this, I am happy he didn't come to tOSU. It sounds like he is going to be a high maintenance player that could cause problems. The next thing we will read about is that Dr. Anzalone is calling Muschamp and complaining because his son is not getting enough playing time. Hahaha
Mitchell > Anzalone
True story...and probably why Anzalone was sending those tweets at the opening about Mike MItchell...even he knows it.
What tweets?
They were the height of insecurity. Basically calling Mike a combine player instead of a football player, or something along those lines.
Edit: found the tweet
@AlexAnzalone_24
There's a difference between combine kings and good football players #RealTalk
Thanks for doing the dirty work, Partisan. The insecurity is basically my point. It's a sign that you know someone is better than you so you take a jab at them to make yourself feel better.
Haha nice, thanks for finding that. I think Anzalone looked pretty good in the UA game but Mitchell is a big guy that moves very fast. I think after he goes through the Mariotti S&C program and gets some coaching he will be a beast at LB. He could play MLB and move from sideline to sideline with the speed he has. What is everyone's thoughts on how he stacks up? I did not get chance to see the Army game, how did Mitchell look? Personally, I trust UFM, and snyone he signs off on when it comes to recruiting, I trust to be a good prospect that he believes will succeed.
I'd take both Trey and Mike over Anzalone...not just saying that because he decommited from here. I caught a little bit of that high school all star skills chanllenge thingy that Anzalone competed in on ESPiN. The kid was an absolute turd/goober. Not being rough on him, just my $0.02.
You throw this recent chain of events in the mix and I could not be more psyched to have Trey and Mike.
Wow talk about a crazy situation. I for one was pissed when he decommitted from tOSU, but in the end we avoided some serious drama and i truly feel our LB situation is much, much better with Mitchell, Trey and Ty-Lew than when we had Anzalone and Neal.
ND fans are flipping out. Has not been a good 4 days for them.

Of course Notre Dame would have a board called "Irish Envy."

It's pretty funny how much they hate tOSU on that site.

Brian Kelly interviewing with NFL -Alex Anzalone decomits? Maybe Kelly is leaving too?
Talk about going sky-high and then crashing back down to earth in a heartbeat. ND has been irrelevant for quite a few years now and all of the sudden out of nowhere they are playing for a Natty. Fast-forward three days and they got blown out, lost a top recruit and have to endure rumors of thier coach leaving. Things can change so fast...
The next Seantrel Henderson hopefully!
I'm all for letting kids decide and cutting them some slack, but this kid has found the boundary to which I start to judge his decision making process...
Duron Carter thinks Anzalone is unstable.
Here's a clip of the Alex & his dad, it explains alot.
Bahahahahaaaaa! + 1000
Greatest gif ever.

It's too bad his helicopter Dad is micromanaging everything. I understand that recruits need to do what is best for them, and the stakes are huge for an intial commitment, but at some point you have to stand by your word. It seems like Dr. Anzalone approached this like a merchant hawking his latest wares, which in this case was his son. Yes, he's going to go to school to play football, but it is also where he is going to live for 4+ years, experience ages 18-22, and hopefully get an education. Your pledge to a school shouldn't change the day before you are set to enroll because the head coach had a job interview. It's mindboggling that someone would do that.
From what I've read and watched and listened over the past few months of this train wreck of a recruitment, I just hope that his Dad stays out of the way and let's him grow into his own person. He's clearly not been taught much about honor, loyalty, and honesty throughout this process.
I wouldn't mind to see Redfield decom. for a second time with the Kelly to Eagles thing as well as the fact that he committed when he though ND was actually good enough to compete with an SEC school.

This just in........Early enrollee Analzone, after one day on the UF campus has decided to transfer due to the tator tots in the cafeteria being cold. When reached for comment a man identified as Sal said "we will not put up with sub-standard tots!"
"Because I couldn't go for 3"
Neither will this guy...
They have a lot in common...
Or this guy.
More drama than a teenage slumber party
Not sure why everyone is taking shots at Anzalone. A lady's allowed to change her mind.
The funny thing to me is that he didnt want to have to compete for a starting spot on a team so now he lands in a school that is loaded at the position with kids who are just as good if not better than him!
Enjoy your basketcase gators!
Thank goodness he's not a Buckeye...he has skills as many like Alex have pointed out. However....he's an obvious problem along with his overly concerned father...but who wasn't concerned enough. Or he would have visited along with his son to ensure nothing happens out of the ordinary (then blames OSU coaches....all to retract his comments the next day). It's not like his family is from TX like Mike Mitchell's....they're from PA for crying out loud. Enjoy the baggage FL!

I just cant help but think of how his team thinks of him. He made himself look foolish with all the ND tweets all the way up to the game and his going away poster he tweeted only to have it all go to a screeching halt and up and changes to UF. I know we are talking about 17-18 year old kids here but damn you would have to think his teammates cant think of this guy as loyal not one bit.
I kinda feel bad for Alex. Florida has some of the ugliest girls I've ever seen.
As our Trillionaire once said, "his/her hair looks like a wad of pubes".

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Poor kid. His daddy is wayyyyy too involved in his decision. I hope his daddy is prepared to take responsibility if his son ends up unhappy with his 3rd choice after enrolling.
Can you say helicopter dad!! Jeez, that family has some issues. Kelly interview its an excuse.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning! GO BUCKS!!
i would never expect someone as unstable as sal anzalone to be a dr. i bet he gets a new staff every month
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
Best salty ND tweet towards Anzalone was: I'd hate to be behind you at a drive through cuz you'd be the guy who would change your order 3 times
Is he flying to florida to enroll? Or driving. Because there's a lot of colleges between PA and Gainesvile. Who's to say one of them won't catch his eye?
LOL! No doubt...
In all honesty ...
Enough about this f*cking primadonna. We have Mike Mitchell.

Now that Alex is enrolled @ Florida, I think the Eagles need to join the game & interview Muschamp for shits n giggles lol
hahaha, that'd be awesome, i'd upvote this comment, but i can't anymore
There are some great comments in this thread. Well done, everyone.
