Buckeye fans grudgingly unferstand: Ohio State football is big business. Business is good. Inevitably, ticket prices are going to increase.
But, isn't it time for Ohio State to demand a bigger - fairer - share of B1G revenue?

I thought ticket prices were going up because we aren't going to have an 8th home game for at least 4-5 years
Wherever you are, there you be!
I vote increase ticket price!
*This picture excludes Nebraska but they should be there.
I don't think its in the best interest of OSU to take money away from other schools and asking for a larger share of the pie. You are in a conference with 11 other schools, for now, and equal money for Purdue athletics should be give to them as much as us (apply to other schools). I know it sucks increasing ticket prices but it shouldn't come at the risk of causing an uproar in the conference you are in! No need to project our problems in Columbus on to to fans, alumni, students in Iowa City. Look internally and fix the problem within!
Ohio State's band SLAUGHTERED Michigan's band. If this were a football game, it would have been Florida State vs. Savannah State. - SB Nation following OSU vs. UM 2012
I would vote for having a requirement for other programs invest more of their B1G slice into their programs to build better facilities and hire better coaches. And as a result have more interesting games to watch.

If it ups 10 bucks it adds a million a game. The big ten knows how much viewership/ratings etc for the different teams and I'd venture to bet osu is at the top of that list. They should get a little bigger piece of the pie. Maybe a couple of percent more but that would offset not having the extra home game. Find other ways rather than taking it out on the ppl who come to the games. I have had season tickets for 12 years now and with the donations etc you have to give to even have a shot at season tickets it is getting out of hand. They are going for the easy option rather than exhausting other options first.
One school getting a bigger piece of the pie (conference revenues) is a certain recipe for an unstable conference. It won't work. I am a diehard OSU fan, but I can see the value of having a strong conference. Just take a moment to look at what Texas has done to the Big 12. As long as they play their "we are worth more" games the Big 12 will have problems retaining or attracting other schools. They have lost Colorado, Nebraska, Missouri, and Texas A&M within the last 3 years. They are struggling to survive. The 3 (or 4) Musketeer policy is the best - All For One and One For All!
Exactly - the Texas sweetheart deal in the Big 12 is simultaneously the reason they're not a serious target for B1G expansion (unless we pick off Kansas first and create some more instability), and the reason why we were able to pick up UNL and A&M bolted to the SEC.
Right now schools in the bottom tier of the conference don't have the same incentive to spend more competitively on football because they're guaranteed the TV revenue. But the conference can't force them to do more without jeopardizing the conference at large, and with the school presidents pulling the strings, that isn't going to happen.
