With the new playoff picture starting in 2014 playing a tougher schedule will help. I thought I would see what home and homes everyone would like to see that are not currently on the slate. Just pick 5.
Mine are:
Ole miss-the grove enough said
texas a&m -heard good things about it
virginia- charlottesville is amazing and a great town
georgia - Athens is a great college town
tulane -away game in NOLA is always fun
Others?

you can cross off all the SEC teams. they're too good for home and homes
I don't mean to play devil's advocate here but we did back out on Georgia.
"Attack the Strong, Trample the Weak, Hurdle the Dead!"
-Former OSU S&C Coach Lichter
We did back out with Georgia because of the now-defunct agreement with the Pac 12, which was also before the playoffs were even talked about. Reports came out once the agreement with the Pac 12 went down the toilet that said we were going to start talking to Georgia again and try and do the home and home. I have yet to see anything come up, but most of these teams we have been adding, there has been little to no forwarning that it's coming so something may be in the works at least.
UCLA. That way we can play in the Rose bowl twice in the same season. Bookends
Had bad luck last time we home-and-homed UCLA
1-1-1. They knocked us from the National Championship and got Woody booed for the tie at home.
Didn't we play them in 1999 & again in 2001. Tressel's first year?
“Right now, Michigan is not at the pinnacle of college football, and that’s all Urban Meyer cares about...He’s been there and knows what it takes to get there.”
Not sure. Just remember my Dad's icy stare at us when my brother and I booed when we settled for the tie. It was like 10-10 or 13-13.
I was at that tie (10-10). I remember Woody getting booed and he shook his fist at the crowd as he left the field.
OSU had a home and home in '75 and 76
OSU stomped them in '75 at Los Angeles and then had to play them in the Rose Bowl, which didnt end well and cost OSU the NC. The '76 regular season game was the aforementioned tie.
Hard to believe those Archie, Greene, Pete Johnson teams didnt win a NC (Should have had two of them)
Another home and home in '79-80. OSU won the '79 game and got shut out at home in '80, which ended any NC hopes.
Last home and home, as mentioned elsewhere, was '99 and 2001. Another win at Los Angeles by a big margin followed by a loss at home.
Interesting that all three series had wins by the vistors.
OSU also split the series in '61 and '62, with the home team winning (but that was before my time)
The first game in Los Angeles (was UCLA in the Rose Bowl then, or sharing the Coliseum??) we jumped on them and then recovered an onside kick.
Then in the Rose Bowl, Wendell Tyler ran wild against one of our best defenses ever. Great coaching by UCLA, and another long silence as darkness fell on (South) Pasadena
Very sad day indeed. I think it was the catalyst for Dick Vermeil getting the Eagles HC position? I think I remember the QB, John Sciara ripping off a long run as well?
I remember that Cal had a shot for the Rose Bowl - i still beleive that had Cal gone to the Rose Bowl, the BUcks would have blown them out and had the title.
I only saw highlights (we were at the Michigan-Oklahoma Orange Bowl on a lark) but I do remember Sciarra tearing us up.
And was not following Cal yet (too young!!!!) but believe you are correct that Chuck Muncie and Co. tied for Pac8 title.
Also agree (based on the last 30 miserable years) that Cal would have gotten killed. The Cusicks and Cope just filled in for DeCree and Hasenorl, and Johnson for Henson, and Fox for Colzie, and the team did not miss a beat.
We did and we lost that game.
I was a that game in Pasadena in '01. Abysmal. We didn't score a touchdown and it was hotter than hell.
this reminds me of some the away teams I'd edit my schedule to for OSU in NCAA Football
I always schedule the 4 top ranked teams in the country
My List

Ohio State's band SLAUGHTERED Michigan's band. If this were a football game, it would have been Florida State vs. Savannah State. - SB Nation following OSU vs. UM 2012
It's not completely pertinent to the thread but they need to rename a show on ESPiN just for Mark.

A joke at Fat Urkel's expense is always pertinent.
1. Notre Dame (LET'S BEAT THEIR ASSES!!)
2. Florida/Florida State (Can't see us playing both)
3. Texas (Lovely town with some lovely women)
4. Nebraska (Mostly cause I hate the fact we may not play them for 4 years)
5. Alabama* (Would be #1 by default, if not for the extreme likelyhood we will play them multiple times over the next few seasons)
“Right now, Michigan is not at the pinnacle of college football, and that’s all Urban Meyer cares about...He’s been there and knows what it takes to get there.”
Oklahoma...Id love to beat Big Game Bob
Arizona State .great parties
Florida State
Notre Dame...cause I hate them
West Virginia
Battles are sometimes won by generals; wars are nearly always won by sergeants and privates. Football is no different, the guys down in the trenches win the games, not the coach.
Only 3 1/2 years until the Bucks travel to Norman.

oops -- didnt see this post before I posted that info below. I should have read through the whole thread!
well, OSU owes:
Florida State
Florida
South Carolina
LSU
Texas
asswhippins for Bowl Game losses they have suffered, the past 2 decades.
They owe:
Southern Cal
Notre Dame
Miami Fl.
asswhippins, because they are my top 3 least favorite NCAA football teams, besides Meatchicken.
Hate the Gamecocks! With every fiber in my being! Was at the Outback Bowl 2002, almost got in a fight with a gamecock in the parking lot after the game ( I am a female and my Buckeye fandom was called into question). One of our best friends was called up for duty the night before and actually left the game at half time to make it back to Ohio to report for duty. Talk about a Happy New Year.
I wouldn't consider the Texas game an a**whippin.
That Florida loss will always leave a bad taste in my mouth.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
1. Pitt (because we all hate Mark May)
2. West Virginia (if you live along the Ohio River, you know they need reminded of their place)
3-5. Any SEC team (because I want one of them to play a meaningful game up North)
1. Florida (for obvious reasons)
2. Oklahoma (Gameday would be filled with crap about the ties between the Stoops and Youngstown, etc. but it would be fun)
3. South Carolina (because I hate Spurrier and I'd love for OSU to just stomp his team into the ground)
4. Tennessee (easy drive and nice town)
Went down to Knoxville for a Auburn v Tennessee game about 3 years ago and purely for the sake of the gorgeous women that are everywhere I'd take just about any southern school.
FYI - we are playing a home and home with Oklahoma starting in 2016 at Norman.
Your wish has been granted!
That's right. I totally forgot about that. I just want to play these southern schools though. There's no one out West that I find intriguing anymore...with maybe the exception of Stanford but are they the flavor of the week because of a recent solid run or are they a flash in the pan? As long as Shaw is there, I think they're relavent but if he leaves for the NFL at any point, they could drop off. I'd rather go with a region that has been notoriously good for several years and I'd like to prove points against the conference behind most of those teams...
Florida (payback for last year's Gator Bowl and to shut my cousin's wife up).
USC (hopefully with Kiffin still there. We'd put a stomping on them like the 68 Rose Bowl and maybe Coach Meyer will go for two when up by 40 points)
Arkansas (reunited with an old fat friend)
WVU (just so I can talk smack to my WVU family members)
"Sherman ran an option play right through the south" - Greatest.Civil.War.Analogy.Ever
Boise State
Notre Dame
any SEC team
Any BCS conference team
No more FCS teams
No more than one MAC team per year
Hope Gene Smith is reading your post!!
Georgia, West Virginia, Florida, Notre Dame

THE Ohio State University
West Va, Georgia, FSU, Clemson, Texas A&M. Tennessee
1.) UNLV... Vegas trip
2.) Hawaii... Hawaii trip
3.) Miami... South Beach trip
4.) Vanderbilt... Nashville trip even tho I live 30 minutes from Nashville...
5.) UGA... ATL trip... In the Ga Dome
See what I did there...Every home and home needs to be for geographic regions where fans can have a great time. I don't want to go to any crap cities.
What about Maine? I heard Orono is great in November.

Did Miami two seasons ago. It didn't turn out so well..... #bausermanned
Luckily there were not that many in the stands to get hit by mis-fired throws.
I was at that game, there were more Buckeye fans there than Cane fans!
"Because I couldn't go for 3"
Arkansas... always great to beat SEC teams and Urban owns fat boy.
ttun... I never get tired of beating our arch rival. The thoughts of possibly beating them 3 times in one year sends thrills up and down my whole body!
Pitt...obvious reasons. May, recruiting, another PA team.
If I would pick any teams to schedule...
1) Alabama (To be the best, you have to beat the best)
2) Florida (We owe them and I hate them whining all the time)
3) ND (Been a couple years since we played them)
4) FSU (Seem to be remerging and a good challenge)
5 a) GA (strong program and good road trip)
b) SC (strong program and good road trip)
6) WVU (due to proximity and supposedly a crazy environment)

I don't want to see us play Boise, it's a no win situatiion for us. If you win you just beat someone you are supposed to beat. I have a Rick Flair philosophy when it comes to the schedule, you wanna be the best, you gotta beat the best. I say lets get some SEC big boys like Alabama, LSU, and Florida on the schedule.
I agree with playing the big boys.
No win situation with Boise? i hear you -- its the argument i make against MAC schools (and certainly FCS schools)
Id argue that Boise has been elevated a bit, but it would at least be a respectable opponent. And my desire to see them on the schedule is probably related to my desire to see them get stomped.
1.LSU-easy drive down to NOLA for those interested and who can argue against 1 gallon drive- through daiquiris.
2.Texas- awesome thought of Urban driving Mack Brown into retirement, ....finally.
3.Pitt- obviuosly to feast on douschewaffle Mays' tears
4.ND- to put them in their place.
5. Florida- wanna see Muschamp's face when Urb hangs 40 on em
All the games of the season are just practices for that glorious saturday in November when we get to jack Shoelace's invisible cereal bowl and drink our fill of delicious skunkweasel tears ...Michigan Still Sucks!!
I want to see tOSU against powerhouse programs. Schools like Maryland and Rutgers.
In all seriousness, just about any SEC team would be enjoyable. I'd like to see us play WVU sometime. Florida State, Stanford, and Notre Dame also come to mind. Also, +1 for anyone who said Pitt, lol.
Tennessee
Washington Huskies
Texas AM
For pure picturesque setting:
Army (Michie Stadium)
BYU
1. Florida State
2. Ole Miss
3. Arizona
4. Clemson
5. Tennessee
* Georgia - good SEC program and Athens is my favorite college town.
* Tennessee - SEC, whopper stadium, decent town.
* Fla State - Good team prestige, cool trip.
* ND- Destroy Rudy and meEt Lennay Kekua
* Texas A&M - new SEC big boy, good tradition.
* Ole Miss - amazing campus, amazing tail gate scene.
It's a little soon to be calling A&M a "big boy".
