The 247 staff has updated the final player ratings for the 2013 recruiting period. Major changes are as follows:
- Shane Morris loses his 5th star
- Alex Anzalone gains a 5th star. OUCH.
- Gareon Conley bumped from a 92 to a 94.
- Tracy Sprinkle up one point to an 88
- Apple and Burrows gain and lose one point, respectively: Apple now a 96, Burrows a 95.
- Baugh moves from a 94 to a 95
- Lisle bumped from a 94 to a 95
- Bosa dropped from a 96 to a 95
The final rankings leaves us with:
- One 96 rated player
- Six 95 rated players
- Four 94 rated players

Thanks for the update I.8. That is some great news. This class definitely has the possibility of being special, and we still aren't done.
I'm surprised Morris didn't drop 2 stars.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
i think he was given the benefit of the doubt because of his mono and the fact that he has shitty receivers to throw to. he COULD be a 4 star because of his physical tools and potential. however, because of his mental toughness (or lack thereof), his footwork, and the fact that he seems to have made only minimal progress in not throwing the ball as hard as he can regardless of how far he throws it, i'm surprised he ever got 5 stars in the first place. he's top 20 in his position, but not much higher
im with u. cant see the fuss over this kid. hes a combine freak and thats it. im sure mich hopes he proves that wrong.
I dont know karate but i do know crazy and i'm not afraid to use it.
&
i think he could be a solid starter, but not a difference maker until probably his senior year, if he isn't usurped by a younger talent on the roster. i'm half hoping tsun starts him not next year, but the year after. it'll be a year or two of him looking about as capable as russell bellomy looked during the nebraska game. one can only hope
This class is so much better than last year's class in my opinion, for one major reason: depth. While last year yielded a handful of studs, the class was not as deep. While the average ratings will look about the same, I'd much rather have 20 guys in the 92-96 range than 5 98s and 15 85s. Meyer is putting together some ridiculous classes, and I think they're only going to get better.
/\ /\ /\ Yeah, what he said!!! I was thinking the exact same thing! And just think........we aren't done yet with this class!!
Not to mention...Urban and Co. had an entire year to go after these guys....as opposed to less than three months to work on a class for 2012. That may have had an additional factor too:-) Yes 2014 will be SICK bruh...down right sick 1.8 ;-)

They favored the SEC is much in the final rankings...
Thanks BuckI.8. Good stuff.
Has Rivals updated their rankings yet - does anyone know? In addition to 11W, that's where I usually go for recruiting info, especially for team and individual rankings - for no other reason other than that's where I went before I found 11W, and I'm familiar with it.
Thanks!
(Ultimately, I want to know if Rivals ratings are finalized because I love seeing OSU go up as they gain recruits and as our recruits go up in ratings, and seeing UM go down a la Shane Morris)
Thanks for the info! Think you meant "Bosa dropped from 96 to 95".
The depth in this class is pretty nuts, I'm looking forward to seeing these guys develop
Mike Farell at rivals tweeted this morning that they were starting to have rankings meetings. I would guess the finals rivals list should be out later this week or early next week.
Hey thanks for the update. Definitely not trying to nitpick but "Bosa dropped from a 95 to a 96"
So is that a Bosa drop or a gain?
its a drop from 96 to 95..i went and looked, because i was curious as well.
Oops, sorry about that. It's a drop to a 95, I'll fix it. Thanks for pointing it out
The 247 rankings are a joke this year they under ranked quite a few of our players, which is a shame because I thought they had the best rankings the past few years. Bosa, Apple, Burrows Sprinkle, Johnson, Marshall, and Lee should all be ranked higher based on their season and all star performances. Thank God they have the 247 composite to offset their garbage rankings
We are now in distance of Bama for the 247 Composite title!
Appears as though Vonn Bell will be the deciding factor there. Winner takes the title
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
I wish, but it won't end up this way. Bama will still take more players than us, and with a higher avg., eke it out.
Interesting example of the disparity in ratings: Rivals has Miss State's DE Chris Jones as a 3-star, while 247 has him as five-star and second best recruit in the nation. Pretty wide gap in analysis.
Also, I think Price and Sprinkle were both underrated due to signing early. If they were still available, they'd be hot commodities.
Rivals will be updating their rankings soon, I won't be surprised to see Chris Jones shoot up their list either.
chris jones is a beast jus as good RNK imo just very raw but awesome.

Chris Jones got a lot of attention because of his preformance on the UA practices. I went to a few practices in Orlando and he was consistently blowing by some of the top tackle prospects (Dorian Johnson, Logan Tuley-Tillman, etc.). He size made him stand out on the practice field (6'7 250lbs) but he has a quick step and has a lot of room to fill out once he enrolls in college. Kid will be good, wish he was playing in S&G next year.
I think Zeke got the one of the biggest bumps. He is now rated as the 70th best player and 4th best APB in the nation. Much desereved and is at a better ranking than Derrick Green. Meyer found a gem in this kid.
Also a note on Anzalone.. Watching the kids film he is not five star calibur and was not impressive in any of the games I watched on tv. How 247 has him as a five star ( many actually wonder if you read the blue board) is beyond anyone's thinking.
Also of note, JT Barrett is not rated the best dual threat QB anymore. Ranked 100th
And Burrows not having a fifth star is stupid, staff members on 247 and coaches for the national games were saying he showed out and had some of the best coverage in the practices and game.
Anzalone was impressive in his all star game, his tape is excellent, and he had an awesome senior season. High four, maybe not a five, but not surprised by 247 ranking him that.
Zeke got that bump a while back, after the opening.
I think they rated guys pretty well, with the exception of Darron Lee. Burrows did well in camps, but he didn't perform at the level of a guy like Hargreaves, and that's the difference between a 4 star and a 5 star. a 94-97 four star guy is still really highly regarded, you have to remember that.
Hargreaves is a god dang monster! Ridiculous corner. Lockdown coverage in that under armour game.
id like to know how bosa lost points though... but these guys have been doing it a lot longer than me. hopefully it pisses him off and comes in with something to prove.
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
