Hi guys,
This is the first post i've done, but I was just wondering what players you would have wanted that were once interested in us but ended up committing elsewhere or no longer have interest in us? I think the biggest one that comes to my mind would be jaylon smith, kid looks like he will be a beast in college. I believe we have a very good class so far, and adding mitchell and some others will be a boost as well, but obviously everyone has that "dream class".

Jaylon Smith is a good choice.. To be different, I'll go with Taquan Mizzell. Incredible speed and hands out of the backfield
Another I would have liked to see would have been laquon treadwell, he's really been making a name for himself as of late. Jalin marshall looks like a future playmaker, but you can never have too many talented players on an urban offense.
Jaylon Smith is definitely a great choice here. He has all the looks of a kid that's going to end up something special. There are a few more that come to mind:
Dontre Wilson - That kid could've excelled under Meyer. He and Marshall would have been an extremely formidable tandem.
Ethan Pocic - Thought we had this kid wrapped up, but his LSU visit sealed it. He looks like a serious stud that we could've definitely used.
Dorian Johnson - I understood his decision and situation, but like Pocic, we really could've used him. I think he may end up regretting his decision down the road.
It would be between Pocic and Johnson with a lean towards Pocic.
I never really had a favorite until watching these all-star games this weekend but if I was to pick one after what I've seen so far:
Robert Nkedmiche
However with the rumors starting to swill around him I'm kinda glad we didn't
“Right now, Michigan is not at the pinnacle of college football, and that’s all Urban Meyer cares about...He’s been there and knows what it takes to get there.”
Derrick Green
James Quick if he indeed chooses Louisville
David Dawson
Corey Robinson, we might have gotten some exposure in this game if we got him since that's all they have freaking talked about in the first half. I mean damn we get that his dad is David now get back to the damn game.
NBC and Notre Dame get along really well.
Definitely James quick now.
Vernon Hargreaves. He looked as good as Roby out there and seems like a very well mannered, well spoken, great kid.
Anzalone and Foster. Foster looked pretty good in the allstar game and I think Anzalone is going to be really, really good.
Robert foster... looked great at ua game n jaylon smith. Also dymonte thomas since he's a stark county guy but I actually think thompson is better safety prospect after seeing them both live a couple times. I'm high on thompson though
O'Deez330
stark county football
Jaylon Smith.
But getting TJ, and Mitchell makes up for it.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Ethan Pocic and Jaylon Smith, both looked great in their all-star games.

I agree we missed out on several key recruits. Still think we missed out on several key & top recruits on the offensive line. The game is still played on the offense & devensive lines. Our "D" line appears to be on target. The "O" line needs a lot of help.
2014 needs to be a "Big" year for the OL that's for sure. Decker, Dodson, O'Connor and Lisle are quality players, but with any injuries or attrition the lack of depth could become an issue.

Jaylon Smith looks like an absolute stud. I don't know that we really "missed" on him though. I think he was looking like Notre Dame all along. Robert Foster is definitely one that I really was hopeful for and never really understood what happened there.
Shane Morris.... jk. If we miss out on Vonn Bell then easily him. Also I really want Worley so those are the two who I would be the saddest about missing out on.
F--- Michigan!
I would say Jaylon Smith, but even though we were in his top 3 it seems like he was ND the whole time... James Quick really hurts a bit today, because I'd like to see our offense stretch the field more than they did last year.
Honestly, I have no idea. I want Urbz and company to get the guys they want, but beyond that I don't have any faith in my own scouting abilities.
Even for a top notch coaching staff like Urbz & company, though, talent evaluation is a very inexact "science," more like artform.
I can't be majorly bummed - right now, two years before most of these guys will crack a starting lineup - that Ohio State missed out on a Jaylon Smith or a James Quick. Time will tell. Maybe Mitchell and/or Johnson become monsters, while Jaylon Smith becomes just a so-so player. We'll see.
The only times that I really felt like I knew that Ohio State had missed out on sure things was when JT's brief flirtations with Jadeveon Clowney did not mature and when Lebron chose to go straight to the NBA. On the flip side, I felt relieved when Terrelle Pryor chose The University of Ohio State.
Well, I did not observe any Jadaveon Clowneys or Lebrons-in-cleats in this weekend's all star games, so I will hold off on being disappointed about the Buckeyes "missing out" on certain players until I see what they're doing at the next level.
I regret that I have but one upvote to give you.
I clicked on it... I regretted it immediately...
That Hargreaves kid looks incredible out there. I think that guy is the second best player in this recruiting year.
I was very impressed with Hargreaves in the all star game, looks like he will have a bright future in college.
Hargreaves.
Help is on the way.

According to Rivals we were once in Larry Fitzgerald's final 5, and he even took an OSU visit. If so, I'd say Larry Fitzgerald haha. Or are we just talking this year? If so, gotta be Jaylon Smith.
Try Diggs and quick missed out on us.
