Read the USA Today article from earlier this week (sorry I couldn't link it) and it pissed me off all over again...the victims blood was found in his his limo and he could never find his white suit from that night. He might not have done the killing himself but it's pretty obvious he was involved... And f-off Goodell for praising him and his career this past week as well.

Productive post
D Anthony I would like to believe differently but I agree with you. All witnesses at the time identified the Limo as well. The kid stabbed that night was bullied that night as well over R Lewis GF dancing with the 150 kid. They know the murderer came from R Lewis Limo but no one would testify who it was.
The eery thing about this whole thing is a song Ray Lewis talked about being is favorite song to sit back and listen too I believe could be his way of confessing he knew who did it. The song was called In The Air Tonight by Phil Collins. Listen to those words closely.
I absolutely love that movie...the second one wasn't even close to as good as the first one.
"There's nothing that cleanses your soul like getting the hell kicked out of you."
"I love football. I think it is most wonderful game in world and I despise to lose."
Woody Hayes 1913 - 1987
Yeah, just not the same.
On the contrary, it was exactly the same. No shock factor
Not related, just another movie song that makes me laugh so so much.
~Because we couldn't go for three~
I thoroughly dislike Ray Lewis and the Ravens.
I'm a fan of the way Lewis plays football, but not of him as a person. I don't know if he actually killed anyone, but 2 people died and he was involved. He took a plea deal for a lesser charge so he could avoid jail time in exchange for testifying against his "friends" (who ended up being acquitted of the murders). But let's put it this way, Lewis has since paid out large settlements of money to the families of both of the victims' families. How many innocent people pay out money to people like that? And if Lewis and his friends weren't the guilty parties in the murders, why has no one else ever been arrested or charged in the case?
I liked how OJ played too but...

"If the gloves don't fit, you must acquit".
Kind of hard to put a pair of tight leather gloves on over rubber gloves. Always wondered why that wasn't questioned.
"It's just another case of there you are". ~ Doc (1918-2012)
RBUCK - Thank you for bringing that up. I was screaming at the TV that you can't pull gloves on over rubber gloves! The incompetant prosecutors allowed OJ to walk.

hard to get over that story. a lot on 'suspect' info
Not suprising behavior form a member of the "U", it's amazing that school is alllowed to even play football. How many times have they been under sanctions (more to come)? I am so glad the Buckeyes were the once to end their dynasty in the NC game...they never were quite the same after that.
2012 Beat Michigan Tail gate: UFM: "Let’s beat the sh*t out of Michigan, have a good night."
To be fair, we weren't exactly running a spotless program when we won that game
To be fair, the summer following the NC the NCAA parked it on campus, crawled up the athletic departments ass and performed a full on cavity search and investigation of the athletic department.
We were in fact running a spotless program, according to the NCAA at that time
Do you really believe, even after all the testimony in the past ten years, that the whole Clarrett situation was nothing?
I'll respect it if you do, because testimony is inherently and epistemically flawed, but I choose to be a little suspicious of those years, especially because of the similar cases we observed later in the decade.
I simply stated that following the NC, all of claretts accusations, and a thorough investigation the NCAA found no wrongdoing on the part of ohio state. They event went as far in the following years of calling our compliance department a model for others.
So I choose to take that at what it's worth and not try to hang a dark cloud on the university, athletic department, and most especially, that glorious national championship team.
Spotless program = so dirty that even the NCAA is paid. Which is cool with me. Everyone in NCAAF "cheats" it's just a question of how good they are at it. It's part of the game. Players deserve to get paid. They make the university tons of money and most only have a short window to earn money.
everyone needs to take lessons from North Carolina on that how to then, attendance optional of course...
All the games of the season are just practices for that glorious saturday in November when we get to jack Shoelace's invisible cereal bowl and drink our fill of delicious skunkweasel tears ...Michigan Still Sucks!!
I agree with Buck-I-8 here. Listen, the NCAA may have parked itself on campus that summer, but guess what, they were never going to vacate a national championship. Clarrett probably spoke the truth. I don't believe the NCAA would ever vacate a national championship. We complain about the Cam Newton bagman never being found, but I think the Mo C stuff is kind of the same. I'm sure evidence of wrongdoing was there somewhere.
The NCAA had to investigate after his claims, but even if they found something they wouldn't vacate that title.
So then why do we follow college football if the NCAA is so corrupt?
This talk about how Ray Lewis shouldn't be respected because he might have been involved with this annoys me. He wasn't convicted of anything and nobody actually knows what happened. The fact that people just assume he did do it is unfair to him and the legal process.
I don't know if he did what he is accused of or if he played a role in the crime. What I do know is that he is one of the greatest players ever in the nfl and that he was a total pofessional who showed up to play each and every week. He should be appreciated for his accomplishments instead of being criticized for something that might or might not have happened.
Actually he was convicted. He just plead to the obstruction charge so they could get his testimony. Hardly makes him "innocent". There are two families in Akron that don't particularly care how productive Ray has been on or off the field. Your attitude is exactly what leads to situation like we saw in Steubenville. Allowing someone's athletic accomplishments overshadow being a a decent human being. Ray may be a good leader for his football team, but that doesn't obsolve him from being a decent human. Which he is not.
How do you know what kind of human he is? Have you met the guy? Lots of people are willing to judge this guy for one crime that occurred along time ago. I wasnt there and dont know what actually happened, but I know people make mistakes and do things they regret. It is not my job to judge and condemn them. And my attitude has nothing to do with what happened in Steubenville. If I was present I would have done everything I could to try and stop it and would not have tried to cover it up afterwards, and my respect for a guy who was involved with a terrible incident which he faced through the American legal system had no bearing on what happened.
My god it was the murder of 2 young 150 pound men that occurred out of jealousy.
The two young men were 3 blocks away from the night club walking when the Limo of R Lewis stopped to beat these boys up and then stabbed to death. No admiration of a jock should go so far to excuse this. Lewis may not have wanted the end result to be murder but the Limo didnt have to stop in the first place. He then for several years refused to tell on his "fellow drug thugs" until it became apparent he would be charged himself.
Just as bad as what OJ got away with.
Thanks for putting this in perspective. This is not some legal gray area can't have an oppinion deal. Two dead kids and no one was held accountable.
Yea...OJ wasn't convicted either and I'm sure he's innocent...OJ was a hell of a player too, so that makes it all good...
2012 Beat Michigan Tail gate: UFM: "Let’s beat the sh*t out of Michigan, have a good night."
if u have enough money and fame in america, you can get away with quite a bit more than us common folk.
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
None of you were there. Ray Lewis has not had any problems since that evening. Typically, "bad guys" are repeat offenders. I'm not saying he did or didn't do it, I'm saying I wasn't there and he seems to be a decent person now. I'm a Browns fan so it's amazing that I have any respect for any Ravens.
Go Bucks!
Yeah and OJ hasn't been a murderer since 94. Doesn't change the facts. It still happened.
Not that I'm trying to support ray Lewis but that's not really a good point. O.J ended up doing prison time over a different charge.
Yeah...he went to jail for stealing his own shirts.
OJ was a very safe drive also. He'd go 45 mph for hours at a time on the LA freeways.
Future Hall of Famer. It's a sad commentary on the idols of todays society.
An angry fan...rooting for an angry team...led by angry coaches
He may be a future HOF'er and one of the best LB's ever, but every time I see him, "asshole" goes through my mind.
I always wonder if the players on his team are a little sick of all the overbearing antics he performs. If I was a pro I'd be like "chill Ray Ray, gonna play hard no need to get in my face" then I'd plead for my life....
These antics have always been. I remember back to HS and my college days playing we always had the crazy motivational guy. Just some carry it off better than others. SNL has my all time fav motivational character played by Chris Farley. The absolute worst has to be Drew Brees.
Drew is lame. Maybe he should move into a Van down by the river!
Overbearing antics such as sobbing during the National Anthem? Did they even show the singer during the whole song? I only remember the extended close-up of Ray last night.

nothing more than a thug - I turn the volume down or mute when the heads start their discussion of how wonderful he is
There are 3 athletes I will never support, root for or buy any ticket or product associated with them or a team they are on : OJ Simpson, Ray Lewis, & Michael Vick.
I don't have any other way to register my revulsion, that is the least bit productive, other than that.

@GoldenBear - we can certainly agree on Mike Hart!

He's like the NFL equivalent to Kevin Garnett. HOF talent that you either love or hate. I happen to love KG and despise Ray Lewis.
Really the only difference between the two is that one is a murderer and one isn't.
Don't give up... Don't ever give up.
KG killed someone? Last I checked Ray was not convicted of murder-which of course is the pre requisite to be considered a "Murderer".
I love how people throw the word "Thug" around too. The guy doesn't play like one and take a look at some of his charitable works in Baltimore and Miami and see how thuggish he is.
4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off
so OJ isn't a murderer either, right?...Ray's charity work, just like Lance Armstrong has zero to do with if they are guilty of anything. So you believe his white suit from that night just disappeared and the kids blood was planted in the limo? Again, I don't know if he did it but it's pretty clear he had involvement with a murder.
D. Anthony
Exactly my point though-murderers are guys who kill people and I don't believe Ray was ever accused of being the killer. I know I'm getting hung up on verbiage but there are only a few things worse than calling someone a murderer-especially when they aren't.
His charitable contributions were meant as an affront to the idea that Lewis is a thug-which of course is the most mis used word in sports. Calling Lewis a thug is foolish and has me wondering if whoever says it knows what a thug really is. An NFL football player from a bad background who gives a lot of time and money back to the community is not a thug. I wasn't using it to illustrate guilt or innocence over his alleged crime.
As for OJ-again, a murderer is someone convicted of the crime of murder. A good guy he is not, and a court of law says a murder he is not, either.
4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off
And I'm pretty sure the "acting" OJ did in the Naked Gun movies could be considered charity work.
-The Aristocrats!
Ray Lewis actually WAS indicted for murder and took a plea deal in exchange for his testimony.
but he dances and lays people out on Sundays!
Don't give up... Don't ever give up.
Ahh. I correct my previous statement. He was charged, I apologize.
He still was not convicted and thus, not a murderer as people continue to call him.
4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off
ah, reasonable minds can differ, and we are all entitled to our opinions. Mine just happens to be right
Craig James killed five hookers at SMU and he's allowed to run for public office. In football, murdering only counts if you get caught.
Keep Calm and Ignore the Trolls.
The whole Craig James killing five hookers thing is so irresponsible! Have some respect, they are called sex workers and only 4 of the 5 died.
D. Anthony
And the other one was Mike Leach
so ray lewis and brian kelly both have something in common!
They like football!
I like football
I find it absolutely disturbing the amount of praise Ray Ray gets. He's done a great job reconstructing his image to cover up the crap he pulled all that time ago.

Crying and sobbing and throwing in some "All praise God" in between said crying will help that I guess.
To me, sports fans sitting on their couches judging an athlete or coaches' moral fiber is a bit ridiculous and a big double standard. Most of you don't like Ray Lewis because he's a loud, consistent football player for a team that is generally disliked in the greater Ohio area. You use the scapegoat of the murder trial as a reason to hate him when really, you'd hate him regardless. Same thing with Tressel haters. We still embrace him to this day, as one of the tent-poles of Ohio State football, while rival fans call him a liar and a cheat referencing Tat-gate.
And for those of you using the "once a thug/murderer/criminal, always one" type of argument, I'm sorry, but the fact that there was never an issue before with Ray and that there's never been one after the trial says a lot about him.
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
How do you know what most sports fans think? I happen to think it's obvious he was involved in that murder and could care less, just like the victims family, about what he did before or after he was involved. It's much more likely that those who choose to give him the benefit of the doubt do so because he's a famous, wealthy, athelete. ..studies have shown that wealth, fame etc have a direct correlation with a less likelihood of being convicted. I don't think we need to worry about too many atheletes and coaches being judged too harshly on their moral fiber as you put it...I think it's much more likely that some of them, especially at a young age, have the money and fame/ hero worship get to them and maybe feel a little more invincible and above the law then the normal 20-something kid...
D. Anthony
I never met Charles Manson either and I can tell you what "kind of guy" he is
Battles are sometimes won by generals; wars are nearly always won by sergeants and privates. Football is no different, the guys down in the trenches win the games, not the coach.
I wonder if this thread would exist if the Ravens were still the Browns. Seems unlikely.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
if the Ravens were still the Browns, they wouldn't be going to the Super Bowl.
I still wouln't like him.
"Attack the Strong, Trample the Weak, Hurdle the Dead!"
-Former OSU S&C Coach Lichter
Since Lewis played for Butch Davis (someone we can all agree to hate), I wonder if he took classes that never existed...
/Duff'd It
Me, both when they showed him doing whatever that was during the National Anthem and doing whatever the hell he was doing showing his buttcrack at midfield after the game:
I hate Ray Lewis, but more because of his "GOD'S LINEBACKER" schtick and the fact that he acts like he's crying every time they win a game. His speech last night about sacrificing himself for God as a leader for the Ravens is why they are winning is insufferable and insincere. I hope God smites him and he gets struck by lightning before the super bowl.
