Personally, I thought that first TD pass on the goal line inside slant had some nice zip on it. It had to be to get it in there like he did.
Kid's impressive. He looks like a QB, the way he carries himself, his footwork and his poise. Meyer gets this kid to flip to us we won't have to worry about the QB position until at least 2017-18.

Impressive. It's easy to see why Meyer wants him so bad. I think his passing game is pretty impressive for being a junior in HS. He also seems to know how to break a tackle or four.
His throws on the run and in the pocket were nice. He has excellent touch on his deeps balls both on the outside and on seem routes up the middle. Only saw a few throws with some zip on them, but he also not filled out yet as far as strength and weight goes. He could probably add 15 to 20 good pounds and not lose and acceleration or agility working with Marrioti. Made good reads on zone read plays where he kept the ball. The thing I think really shows something about this kid is this. He was a junior this past year and he has already set the state high school passing record for Georgia high school football. Saying that he still has one more year to play which is just ludicrous lol. Very high ceiling on this kid I hope we can sway him with a little Urban magic.
Now after some have watched this video.....hopefully people will stop all the hype that we "have" to get Barker or Henderson or even Will Ulmer or Crest. There's a reason why Urban and Co. are going after him with all they have....it's his field awareness as well as putting the ball on the money (and runs as a last resort or on designed runs...hate to say this, but he reminds me of TP when he runs). These are things Brax360 is learning to do now as far as passing....this kid has it as a JR in HS. Don't get me wrong...I think Braxton is better right now...but in the long run...Watson will be better IMO. \

I believe we need to offer Barker because we aren't going to get Watson. If we do, I'll make a thread and let the downvoting begin. He is going to be able to start all 4 years at Clemson. He might have to sit for a couple of years at OSU. Only way we get him is if Morris leaves.
He'll get a fifth star next year if his team even sniffs the state championship game again. He may even be a 5* at the start of 2013 season.

The ONLY way I see Ohio State getting him is if Chad Morris leaves Clemson.
If Morris gets a head coaching job which I think he will by next year Watson may not want to go there. Morris is a GREAT OC, and QBs want to play in that offense. Look at what Boyd has done in it.
He has only been an OC in the college ranks since 2010 but Morris is the next big thing IMO.
2010 Tulsa GJ Kline 3650 YDs passing 36TDs 10INTs rushed for 360yds and 7 TDs
I would definitely agree with all this above. Morris leaves that will increase OSU's chances immensely. If he stays, then the flip will be very difficult as you've indicated. Let's hope Tosh has another great passing season and Morris gets a HC job some where else besides at Clemson.

I was thinking the NFL may come for Morris but after I read more about him this guy seems like a college coach for life. He loved coaching highschool and barely left that to go to Tulsa to coach for Todd Graham...then he almost got the Tulsa job then Clemson came calling and offered him a crap ton of money.
Morris would be a GREAT hire for Nebraska if the can Pelini after next year as some of thier fans are calling for already. Then if Fickle goes for a head coaching job after next year, Bo can come back to OSU and be DC for Urban!!!! Bo may not be the worlds best head coach but the man is a good DC.
Deshaun Watson believes he can start as a Freshman at Clemson in 2014. Clemson's only 4 star QB recruit in the last several years was Chad Kelly--solid dual-threat QB. Kelly likely would have had his shot next year to secure the starting spot (though he couldn't beat out Cole Stoudt for the backup spot this year), but Boyd coming back hurts in the sense that Kelly will have to wait another year, and by that time Watson will be in as an early enrollee, ready to fight for an open QB job. Kelly would have had more time in in regards to learning the system, but not a whole lot more game experience than Watson, so I would think Watson feels he has a fair shot to beat Kelly and Stoudt out for the spot as a true Freshman.
At OSU Watson would have no shot at starting as a Freshman assuming Brax comes back for his senior year. He'll also have to fight JT Barrett off for the starting QB spot in his 2nd year; Barrett is just as highly rated by most, and fits Urb's system just as well as Watson. Clemson and OSU look to have similar upside at the moment, he has a better shot at the starting QB spot as a Freshman at Clemson, Clemson is closer to home, so I don't blame him for leaning that way. I agree with others though that Chad Morris leaving could make a difference (so long as he's not completely committed/prepared to go to Clemson at that point). For now I get the sense that he's committed to Clemson, but that he's at least open to other possibilities, as his OSU visit would indicate.
Sign this kid up.
honestly though it doesnt look like he has a lot of zip on the ball. good touch obviously but didnt many where he rifled it into tight spaces.
Got some moves for a bigger buy. I agree with the above that he could use a little more velocity on some of his throws.

Who does Clemson have coming in after Tahj goes pro?
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Deshaun Watson
So he would start right away. That doesn't help Ohio State.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Exactly... He will enroll early and start all 4 years.
I understand why they want this kid.. After our season next year we wil no longer recruit players. We will select them.. Go Bucks!
This kid could start as a true freshman at Clemson. Boyd is leaving as he is coming in. Hopefully Chad Morris leaves also, and we can snag Mr. Watson.
If Morris leaves, Watson will be a Buckeye... I believe Watson tweeted he would be enrolling early too, so we will know something on him by next fall.

Which is a very good possibility within the next two years.

He will be a HARD FLIP for Urban to pull off.

2012 Boyd 3896 yds 36TDs 13 INTs 514yds rsh 10 TDs
His offense it somewhat like Gus Malzahn he learned from him but Morris adds more pro style sets into it too though.
I just do not see Watson not going there unless Morris leaves.

Besides Boyd, the last big time QB recruit Clemson got was Willy Korn... but like many players never lived up to the hype and transferred.
As a junior, he was 305-of-435 for 4,024 yards with 50 touchdowns and had 221 carries for 1,441 yards and 24 touchdowns.
Not bad...
Outside of Kwon, he's probably the prospect I want the most in next years class.
Ye of little faith in the work Raekwon is doing on these kids I see.....just wait :)
