I may be speaking to soon, but the hat game seems to have disappeared. Somehow, the conservative approach seems to have won out.
Maybe they all saw this video.

Brady Hoke treats a buffet line like his personal hat ceremony.
Mr. Hoke treats objects like women...man.
And I don't like you...jerkoff.
While it was just kids being kids, I will not miss the hat game.
With you buckeyenut. They are just kids having fun but it is sure frickin annoying! Will not miss it.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning! GO BUCKS!!
Seems like I might be one of the few people to actually like it. This is supposed to be a fun time and process for them, they're mapping out their college lives! I think it would be boring if they showed up on camera saying "I'm committed to so and so" and then the camera switches over to analysis.
Loved the way Kyle Dodson did his last year, though.

I like how Noah Spence committed. (no hats, no cameras)
The first school selection for the Army AA game was a hat ceremony.

TV might be insisting on it.
As long as they pick up the hat and get on with it, I don't really see a problem. The fake-outs and the kids who show disrespect to the schools they didn't choose are the ones I dislike. There's no way for a top recruit to pick his college without disappointing some other fans, so why rub it in?
