Chip is staying

Why in the name of Nike is Chip Kelly staying at Oregon?  Sanctions are coming Chip, you are going to be miserable quacking on probation. I think he has also burned all his bridges to the NFL now that he has flirted with and left pro teams hanging 2 years in a row.

We really don't know how hard the NCAA will come down on Oregon.

I'm glad he stayed. Having a coach like Chip Kelly is good for CFB.

"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.

As long as Oregon keeps grabbing the occasional talented recruit (ala DeAnthony Thomas) away from USC, I'm good. I see the rise of Ole Miss or Mississippi State recruiting in a similar way--SEC or not, if it means they keep the occasional 5*  recruit like Nkemdiche from going to Bama (not that it's a done deal), can't be a bad thing. A good Oregon keeps 4 and 5*'s from being a sure thing to USC.

I agree and add my pleasure in stanford's rise as well. If arizona and ucla keep stepping up usc will be in the shithole all the sooner. yay!

I wonder how this effects the Wilson commitment. Heard it's been in question befoer the Kelly to NFL talk. Probably doesn't help.

I think he realized that the Browns didn't have the personnel to run his scheme.  As for Philly, who would want to coach there?  The pressure that city puts on coaches is horrible.  Andy Reid was a hell of a coach (past 2 years excluded) and there was still talk of firing him every year.  Would be really hard to win with that o-line next year and facing that brutal division.

i agree to a certain extent. there is a lot of stuff coming out that reid was just plain out coached over the past few years. I think its a good fit for kelly as there is a ton of talent on defense, a mobile quarterback in vick, desean jackson, lesean mccoy, avant, maclin, and other pieces to work with. I would think having a city passionate is a great thing as there is a lot of support, assuming you do your job. The front office is also very obviously willing to get the players they need and will spend the money to do so

My guess is Nike threw some money at him!
