Several years back one of the all-time great college football programs went thru a scandal and a down period. Even though that team, Alabama, had a great history and had previously been coached by an icon/ one of the best coaches ever (Bear Bryant) they had never brought in big name coach with a Championship of his own. Saban came in and signed (over signed) top classes...and it's worked-out pretty well.
It's hard not to see the comparison with where Bama was a few years ago with Saban and where Ohio State is now. We had a lesser scandal, then brought in a big name coach with huge credentials and Chapionships under his belt, someone capable of stacking up to our own coaching icon (Woody Hayes). Meyer is about to finish up his 2nd great recruiting class (without over signing) and is starting to get his own players in place to run his system.
It looks like we're on the verge of a big, big run for the years ahead. No matter that it was 12 degrees this AM, it's obviously springtime in Old Columbus Town. I'm pumped!

Amen brother.
i like it but i dont see it the same . IMO I think he is not even close to having the talent level he did @ florida nor do i see these great classes you speak of ,the 2012 and 2013 classes are very comparable to all of JIM tress's classes when he walked the sidlines @ TOSU . the class he makes a move in will be the 2014 class because he has his feet down and all the BS crap about the way he left florida fades away .. wait and see plus having vrabel with a couple yrs under his belt could only help out .
Like a boss
The comparison isn't with Fla teams or Tress's classes... It's all about us now and where Bama was as they were at this stage as a program with Saban... FYI. Tressel's first 2 recruiting classes weren't as good as what Urban has done these 1st 2 years.

Yea, I see the 2014 class being a freak of a class! I hope anyway.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning! GO BUCKS!!
Oh Yeah the 2014 class is going to be sick! UFM has it rolling and he is setting a heavy pace in recruiting for the rest of the B1G to follow not to mention every other school in America! I am so pumped up about how fast and relentless the defense will be over the next 3-4 years. It doesn't scare me that we have to replace the entire DLine. He is replacing them with HIS players! UFM knows to win NC's you better have a great D and it all starts with the DLine.
Because they wouldn't let me go for 3!

Still a lot of Tressels' recruits playing for Bucs!! The true sign will be when they're all Urbans' guys in their.Curious to see if offense and or defense looks different/better, then. But Urban did say he would have recruited many of these same guys had he been here or coaching so we'll see.Either way, year #2 should look much better than year #1.Still don't believe we've seen the whole playbook on offense yet!!
SCOTTC.
His offense is always evolving. On Mike and Mike he said he was in SF and learned a few things watching their practices. The guy never stops learning. Tress did the same thing, but never seemed to implement any changes. Dave never left the house.
I feel like the two schools will be seeing each other plent in the coming years. I see the SEC is being caught up to by the rest of the country and TOSU is primed for another epic run through the B1G. I do hope there is competition for us within the conference. I just don't know if anyone in the B1G can consistantly compete with TOSU year in and year out.
