Everybody knows we missed out on Diggs and Quick these last two recruiting classes and i was arguing with a friend about the two. My question is which is the bigger miss if we are to have a run at the NC next year? Personally I think Diggs is a bigger miss because I think Smith will turn into a big time deep threat for next year and Diggs would be a perfect 3rd receiver in our offense. Thought I'd ask and see what you guys think.

Diggs numbers speak for themselves. they would have both been huge grabs for us but of the two I would have wanted Diggs more.
Diggs is the bigger miss imo, especially when considering what he did this year at Maryland. Strange how similar their recruitments were, as they both came down to tOSU and the hometown school.
The truth is that this is going to happen a lot more with this coaching staff because they are going to go after more players nationally and will have more misses. This should be seen as a good thing because the staff is not going to settle for a player that is less talented just because they are local or OSU leans.
Diggs without a doubt. More explosive and a game changer. Not to mention you're talking about 2013 which means Diggs would be a sophomore. A year of college experience makes a huge difference
Diggs was a pretty big miss, but let's be honest, as a player he will never be a threat to Ohio State. He didn't go to Michigan, Penn State, Florida State, Florida, Bama, or any of the schools that really make waves in terms of rankings. Same thing with Dorial Green-Beckham. A freak talent, a great player, but he went to a school that barely has a presence in the BCS. I try not to think on "what if" especially since Urban came on so strong last year with recruiting. Jalin Marshall could be even better than Diggs IMO.
Good thread TS, good topic of conversation, I would have to agree, Diggs was a big miss, but his school selection keeps him so far off the Ohio State radar.

That was true right up until maryland joined the B1G. Stefon diggs will cross paths with the good guys at some point. But probably not at a very significant juncture.
As far as who's the bigger miss...its not really a question you can answer as it pertains to quick just yet. He hasn't played a single down of football in college. Diggs is a heckbof an athlete, and was an instant impact guy. Then again, its maryland. The same school that had to convert an lb to qb because of injuries.
The better question would be which was the bigger miss in last years class out of all the targets who went elsewhere. Maybe next yeat we can debate who was the bigger miss between these two guys. But you can't really debate it until you've seen what quick does at l'ville
Diggs. That guy was a human highlight real this year. He did a lot without even having a real QB throwing to him half the time, due to the injuries Maryland suffered. I thought he was impressive, forgot he was a true freshman out there - looked like a veteran.

Would diggs evenbe the third option in our offense? I could see him being the number 1 for 2013
Diggs.
SCOTTC.
Not about who you offer and don't get...about who you take that end up not panning out
Legit Digg may have had 1000yds as our slot and put Philly at the other WR with about 400 yds. Amazing that he has done this with that god awful maryland qb rotation.
alex hit it square. about who u have and what they do when they get here
I dont know karate but i do know crazy and i'm not afraid to use it.

I think Diggs is by a landslide the bigger miss of the two. Quick hasn't even played a single play on the NCAA level while Diggs has made a pretty nice name for himself. Diggs is a threat to score anytime he touches the ball and may be one of the more talented playmakers in the country. Quick hasn't even played a down yet so I'm not sure this is a fair comparrison.
Look up Diggs' stats. Kid is a beast.
Diggs by far.
Losing out on Quick wouldn't be nearly as talked about if Diggs were here.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
I agree with Diggs, I was checking 11 Warriors daily last year for news on him, really wish we could have gotten him.
I don't think this question can be answered yet. Quick has never played a down in college. At this point in time it's really impossible to say. We know that Diggs is very good, that's it.
stefon diggs was a consensus top ten player in the country, Quick...not so much, and by this time last year, Diggs was still undecided
we miss on these guys, and we still go 12-OH
so...one less recriuting feather in urban's cap...but i rather have all the win feathers that are in his cap...if that makes sense
The goal is to go 14-OH...
I would agree diggs is a better player, but with Philly brown in the slot and devin smith our deep threat who would help more for 2013? or is everybody in agreement that diggs in the slot > quick as a deep threat assuming quick pans out.
Diggs is the easy answer because we have a year of College stats to compare to a HS kid. Ask us in a year if Diggs was the worse loss than Quick...
