Many matchups today. Nebreska Michigan and Northwestern. Which of these teams comes out with a W? I predict 2-3 today including the Wisconsin and Purdue game. Northwestern and Nebreska with the W.

Northwestern, Wisconsin and even scUM all have a decent shot so I'm going with 2-2.

The B1G has teams playing in five games today.
Gator Bowl: N'western vs Miss St
Heart of Dallas: Purdue vs Oklahoma State
Capital One: Nebraska vs Georgia
Outback: UM vs South Carolina
Rose: Wisconsin vs Stanford
I think N'western wins and Purdue loses for sure. I think the other games will depend on how focused the teams are and have been. Alvarez is coming back for Wisconsin, Denard is departing from UM and, well, Nebraska is still sort of wondering what the hell happened in the B1G championship. B1G teams, I think, will take 2 of these 3. I'm leaning toward (UM and Nebraska).
So, I'm predicting a 3-2 day for the B1G.
My prediction is 2-3, with Wisky and NW winning. I think scUM and Neb have a shot, and that Purdue will get blown out.
dont care what the other 4 teams do today, i hope the gamecocks curbstomp aacc, would like a score of 77 to zero. would be a thrill to see clowney and cohorts face plant deNERD oops, denard about a dozen times, each time harder than the first. HAPPY NEW YEAR y'all.
It's not fair to call him deNERD since he majors in general studies
"I like to kick Michigan's ass and chew bubble gum, and I'm all out of gum."
I understand your hatred for UM but I think you'd like the B1G to win all bowl games because it makes the Buckeyes look like the real deal? FYI Lewan is having his way with Clowney so far?
I could never root for scUM in any game they ever play, in any sport.
I wouldn't say that you have to root for UM just call it cheering for the B1G. UM or Nebraska beat these top SEC schools and it make OSU look way more credible.
2-3 with Northwestern and Wisconsin getting it done. I think michigan and Purdue both have a decent shot of getting beat by 30
I don't see a single win here. However, if Clemson can beat LSU without Sammy Wakins then anything is possible.
~Because we couldn't go for three~
I'm with you on this; But I would like to see NW win because I always root for them and they never get it done. Wisconsin would be a good win too.
Please Jesus let the BIG 10 go 3-0 against the SEC today thanks.
By the way I was partying in Jacksonville last night and there were Northwestern nerds everywhere. Should be a good showing
I'm going to go with 1-5 with Nerdwestern being the only victor. Please prove me wrong B1G!
Did we witness a crack in the armor last night for the SEC? In my dreams, the LSU loss gives every team out there the confidence it needs to beat the SEC or at least be very competitve. This could open up a further decline in the SEC dominance next year through recruiting. I know it's a wild dream, but isn't this what the New Year is really about?
Desmond picks scUM over South Carolina, I don't see it happening, what a homer!
WIBUCKEYE
He always picks scUM no matter who they play. So you could say he is a scUM picker. Sounds nasty.
+1. I think SC will roll Michigan. In fact I hope to watch it. :)
NW and Wiscy have the best shots but I don't see any B1G team winning. I'm saying 1-4 or 0-5.
Ya, I think NW has the best shot.
NW should be a lock.
Did you just use the words Northwestern and lock in the same sentence?!?
On Gameday today they mentioned that in every game against the SEC except NW vs MissSt, the B1G team is the underdog. And then they stated that in order for the B1G to get respect they need to start winning bowl games.
I'm not trying to make excuses, I realize in a lot of these cases it's 5th place SEC vs 5th place B1G, etc., but I don't understand why people don't see the fact that generally, underdogs don't win the majority of their games lol. It's like the B1G is set up to fail. On any given day with an entire slate of NCAA games, only a couple of underdogs win--yet the B1G is supposed to have 2-3 of 4 or 5 underdogs win on a given day to get any respect? Logically it doesn't make sense to me why people are so hard on the B1G for losing games they were the underdog in to begin with. Would I love for them to win more of these games? Yes. Should they win the games they are predicted to win? Yes. But if they're a significant underdog in the game, I think it's pretty good when the B1G just manages to keep the game close--which more times than not they do.
Good thoughts and I agree. I don't think having almost every bowl game that the B1G plays in, in the opposing teams territory helps us either. Plus the B1G refuses to pay top dollar for the best coaching staff except for 1 university...
I can see Northwestern winning. Wisky doesn't have a great track record out west, scUM gets the hose again, Perdue gets blown out, and Nebraska will lose if they play like they did in the B1G Championship game.
In General or at the Rosebowl? I know they've lost the last two but if Alvarez wins today he ties Woody Hayes with 4 Rosebowl wins.
I think Northwestern wins today, other than that I'm not confident in any of the matchups. Though, if Wisconsin, Michigan, Purdue, and Nebraska find a way to win these games, it makes Ohio State's season look a lot more impressive.
nice start for Northwestern...
Poor Purdue.
No Hope. No Hope at all.

When a player speaks proper english in the SEC, he stands out. In the B1G, he would just be another player.
Ohio State's band SLAUGHTERED Michigan's band. If this were a football game, it would have been Florida State vs. Savannah State. - SB Nation following OSU vs. UM 2012
I love Veneric Mark. Probably my favorite player not in an OSU uniform.
Ahhh. I really enjoyed this. Thanks.
Northwesterns "venerick mark is flashing SEC speed". Love it. B1G-B1G-B1G-B1G
I will be happy with .500 or better. Considering that when we have bowls where we send the 5th place BIG team vs 5th SEC team it actually is the BIG's 7th place team vs SEC's 5th place team. Everyone is playing "up" a bowl due to our ban, and those who finished behind PSU are playing "up" 2 bowl games.
GO NORTHWESTERN!!! Great first quarter, but isn't self destruction inevitable with the Wildcats?

They don't call them cardiac cats for nothing, just wait til the 4th quarter.

Good start for Northwestern, but they'll need to hold at least a 14+ point lead going into the fourth quarter to keep my pulse down. The 'Cats always start fast, then burn out in the final stretch. Let's hope today is different. GO BUCKS!!!!

The 'Cats continue to put points on the board, and the defense is playing "big". Aannndddd Miss St. goes three and out. I like it!!!

This Miss St QB is down right awful. Colter has some accuracy issues, but at least he can run.
Let's hope the Wildcats can really run up the score this half and break the Bulldogs' will before halftime!

Aaaaaaannnnd, there's your same 'ol Nerdwestern play of the game :/
EDIT: And same 'ol Mississippi State too apparently :)

Watching this game, you can tell who wants to be here. Colter is a tough kid.
Dustin Fox was our leading tackler as a corner.... because his guy always caught the ball.
Relocating to official thread now :)

wow, those are some hideous Sun uniforms. Maybe Hoke should have his players change and try that series again.
Dustin Fox was our leading tackler as a corner.... because his guy always caught the ball.
Is that highlighter shade of maize? That's turrible!
Michigan, you're a disgrace so far.
Gruden-"could not have been a worse start for Michigan". And that is puting it lightly, they are awful thus far.
Every pass Gardner throws is off his back foot.
Everyone but Purdue are in the game and Northwestern is doing great.
F--- Michigan!
Well now Nebraska and NOrthwestern are starting to let up some
F--- Michigan!
Help us Northwestern, you're our only hope....
Is it just me, or are these announcers pulling for the SEC like they've got money on the game?
Is it just me, or is the B1G's special teams God-awful?
The only reason I care about the perception of the rest of the B10 is because it may keep us out of a National Championship. If it didn't figure into the equation it wouldn't bother me if every other B10 lost. Now next year I will root for Purdue and I will root for individual players but thats about it.
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
I was surprised to see LSU lose last night, despite my picking Clemson for the Bowl Mania thing on ESPN.
Northwestern has the best chance, obviously. I took Michgian State as well, but have Wisconsin, Michigan and Nebraska all losing.

Big Ten teams are 4-2 against the spread so far.
It's 4:46 and m*ch*g*n still sucks.

Good showing today for the BIG. NW played well enough to win today. I thought going into the game that people were underrating NW and big time Overrating Miss st. Was good to see them break the dry spell.
Despite both teams losing, Nebraska and scUM came to play today. Thought they played pretty well. I think aside from Purdue who rolled over and died today, the entire BIG as a conference gained alot of respect today from everyone.
Whisky winning would be icing on the cake but IMO, MSU and NW wins alone means success for the conference as a whole since not a single team was predicted to win a game.
Wow - The expectations are lower than I previously thought. We were 1-4 with one blowout!
They had to be really. The BIG was predicted by most to win zero bowl games. for them to win 2 is a success IMO especially when most people bagged on the BIG this year. Could you imagine if Ohio st. and Penn st were bowl eligible this year?
