No way, man. Notre Dame isn't good enough to begin with...so it's not like this is a powerhouse they're beating. I think last year's Bama team was actually better than this Bama team.
Your right. Last years Alabama team was much better that this season. They just got an easier title game opponent this season.
IMO there is no way Alabama could beat any NFL team right now. You have to remember even the worst NFL teams would still have a better offensive line than Alabama. NFL defenses would shut down Lacy and force McCarron to throw to beat them, and we all know McCarron couldn't beat any NFL secondary.
Dustin Fox was our leading tackler as a corner.... because his guy always caught the ball.

Lol so Notre Dame goes through the toughest schedule this year undefeated and now theyre awful because they got blew out by Alabama?? So our 06 team was awful since we got spanked by Florida in the NC?? Notre Dame is a solid team Bama was just better....alot better.
To be fair, retrospective analysis argues that ND didn't really have the toughest schedule , compared to some SEC teams. The assumption was that USC and Michigan would be contenders, while MSU and Purdue would at least compete. Basically ND won 2 big games against Oklahoma and Stanford, while playing games like weak Pitt and BC, closer than they should've been played. Notre Dame had a similar season to the 2002 Buckeyes, which drew them plenty of comparisons, the only difference being that 02 team was the real deal
Yep, and while Stanford was quality, I'm of the opinion that Oklahoma was not so good this year. I still think ND had a tough schedule - but I'm thinking now it wasn't QUITE as tough as I thought it was a while ago.

No college team could beat a pro team. The best college teams have 5-7 NFL starters (some of which would be FR and SOs at the time). Your average NFL tem has exactly 22.
