Another fantastic article by Schlabach, this time a 2013 preview
http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/8845770/ten-bold-predicti...
Complete with gems such as
"McCarron will be a Heisman Trophy finalist, and might even win it." - keep throwing those game-winning screen passes, buddy. Granted he looked good against ND, however, not sure who WOULDN'T look good behind that o-line.
"Sadly, Delany and the Big Ten's athletic directors and presidents will pass on the most appropriate division names available: Rose Bowl Loser and Capital One Bowl Loser." - how original and funny
"Oregon will play an SEC team for the national championship." - way to go out on a limb, Mark
He says OSU will go 11-1, which I actually think is reasonable. Sadly, I think for us to lose a game and get to the NCG, all but one of Oregon and the SEC teams will have to lose two games.

The 11-1 predictions are annoying. Not because people have the nerve to say Ohio State will lose. The reason it's annoying is they never have the balls to say who Ohio State will lose to.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
That is my question too. I really want to hear it.
Michigan?? Who else? I'm not seeing Penn St or Wisconsin at home. Northwestern on the road, no way
Didn't read the article. You lost me at Schlabach.
Yeah. I couldn't care less about what that guys says.
4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off
Schlabach = douche = do not read.
This. I saw it on ESPN's page but decided against reading it because anything Schlabach writes is inherently shitty. As Lil Wayne would say "Long hair, don't care."
I believe it is pronounced "long hurrr, don't currr"
so where were the BOLD predictions???
The article was complete eSECpn homerism. He didn't even try to hide his lovefest with the SEC.
Jim Tressel vs. Rich Rod = Urban Meyer vs. Brady Hoke
My favorite piece of literature in here is he claims that of the picks "he got right" Wisconsin was in a BCS bowl game, but claims he picked them for the Fiesta Bowl. I don't know if you can really claim you got that right when Wisconsin finished 8-6. While he was right and they got to a BCS game, he was way off in saying they would be in the top 16 and get an at-large bid.
On the surface, I totally agree that if you take each of our games individually, we should absolutely be favored in and win each one. However, you always have one or two like Purdue and Cal last year, where a team inexplicably plays above their level while we play down to their level. You can't pinpoint where those exact games will fall, but they always seem to happen. The success or failure of a season can hinge on whether you are lucky/resilient enough to win those games (Cincy, Illinois, Purdue, etc. in 2002, Illinois in 2006, Purdue and Cal last year) or end up getting bitten (1998 Michigan St, 2003 Wisconsin, 2007 Illinois, 2009 Purdue, etc.).
So even if we have a 95% chance of winning each individual game (really high odds to begin with), purely from a mathematical standpoint, our chances of going 12-0 are 95%^12 = 54%. Throw it down to on average a 90% chance of winning each game (still high IMO), the chance of undefeated drops significantly to 28%.

I read the article but really wish that I would've stuck to my guns and not read anything posted by Schlabach. He's the epitome of jackass journalism. He does no research for himself. He passes off opinion as fact. When he makes outlandish statements, he can't provide any sort of data or trend to support his claim...his word, according to him, is the Bible. If you don't believe, damn you to hell. It's best not to get in a tizzy about stuff he writes anymore. Most of it's crap and it will continue to be.
