The past couple of days I've read people saying Lee will be playing offense... I thought I read that he was going to be a defensive player... I know he is coming in as an ATH, but thought he was recruited to play D... Can somebody clarify?

Kinda hard to tell at this point, as the kid hasn't even put on a helmet for the Buckeyes yet. Being recruited as an athlete usually means they will wait until they see them in drills to decide. They probably have an idea where they'll put these kids, but until they actually practice in front of the coaches, they don't know.
I felt he would play safety, but we will see
deep breath........................................................... whether he plays defense or offense it probably wont affect a single game this year
Not uncommon for a player to change positions from what he was recruited as
see Ted Ginn
I'm a friend of thunder is it any wonder lightning strikes me
Not worked up. Just asking a question. Getting different info from what I've read. I assume Conley and Lee will be on diff sides of the ball. If we land Bell we might not need Lee at safety with Thompson and Worley coming in. Also, Burrows could grow into a safety. I assume the staff will evaluate after NSD and spring practice. Positions will probably be decided after that going into the fall.
I believe he commited before he played a down of senior ball. If you watch his junior highlights it is mostly defensive snaps with a few qb\wr\hb snaps sprinkled in. His senior highlight reel looks amazing and predominantly offensive (QB). I'm not saying he's our next QB, but I am less worried about JT's injury.

Darron Himself has no idea which side of the ball he will be playing on at this point.
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
Lee is a pretty decent playmaker from his tape. He could easily play WR, just like Jalin Marshall is making the switch now. However, I think the idea is that he will start out at safety, and he could bulk up into a star.
Worley on the other hand is currently more a star build, but he could bulk up and play LB, which I believe he did in HS.
Conley could also also go either, WR/CB.
Burrows has looked good at CB, so they'll probably look there first. If he's not able or his weight goes up too much, he could slide to safety.
I would say that he could beat some linebackers at WR, but he could not "easily play WR". He started 3-4 games his junior year at WR, but never showed any playmaking ability except in inside counters out of the Wing-T.
Having been to every single one of his varsity games, I can tell you he will not play offense at the D1 level. He is too slow to play WR, he was given a shot to start at WR his junior year and that fell through in the latter part of the season. Not a good decision maker or passer at QB. He's a safety, star, or linebacker. The best things he has going for him are size and instincts, which for him means safety. He has a chance to be VERY good at the star with some legitimate coaching (he often clashed with the NAHS high school coach visibly on the sidelines...I blame the terrible defense we ran). He excelled on offense only because he played in the Wing-T. Not a QB or WR by any means in D1.
That's kind of weird, I was watching his highlights the other day and was thinking that exact thing; if he could play O for us if needed, but I like him at safety as well.
He's going to play safety at first...but if there becomes a need on offense he could play there too. I saw him play and it would appear to me, he has great instincts as safety or Nickel/Star position (similar to Worley). Conley's another that could go both ways as far as playing offense or defense. I personally love the versatility that comes with these three above (not to mention T Jacobs...he could play defense but I bet he doesn't;-)
