Well that's depressing on Quick. :(
I'm kind of bummed, too. But Quick was always going to be a tough get. He idolized UofL WR Devante Parker while in HS and really wanted to play with him. Quick was hosted by Teddy B. on his official visit, and had grown really close to Calvin Parker.
Oh well, it's not the end of the world.

Damn... Really wanted Quick to be apart of this class. I'm assuming that either Dontre Wilson or Elder will take his spot. Regardless we are still going to finish the 2013 class in a great way. Mike Mitchell is also an amazing pick up in a posistion of need.

not worried...receivers are some of the more likely players to be busts in college. I was reading an article yesterday about players with bad freshman season (or not playing as excepted) and 2 of the 4 players noted were Dorial Green Beckham and the other top receiver from last years class. Urb's will get guys for his system, one way or another.

Hoping to see a surprise from Quick today.. If not, Corn Elder is one of my favorite guys in the class and would be a great addition. Not to minimize the impact of Quick picking U of L, but the Bucks will find some playmakers regardless and finish out with a great class.
Staff, if Dontre Wilson re-opens his recruitment how does it impact Elder?

I like these predictions. We NEED Mitchell (though he might have been a silent verbal for a while).
We don't NEED Quick. He'd be a very good get but should he pick UL we'll move on with our other options.
This is to be expected with our new staff. We'll land many many top prospects but also strike out on many as well due to the nature of their recruiting and how many guys they go after.
If quick does go to Louisville, it sure makes the coaches tweets yesterday look odd, and well, unprofessional

I saw those tweets as a last ditch effort to convince quick. My first thought was they think quick is going elsewhere.

I think quicks in. Our coaches aren't dumb enough to do those tweeters with out being supremely confident they got him. There were reports him n mitchell committed at the same damn time. Hope r coaches know better than the recruiting guys no offense to my beloved 11w staff

I hope you are right. Those tweets from Herman and Smith would not show them in a good light if they knew Quick was going to UofL. I would hope our coaches would have more self-control than that.
One of the 11W staff members was saying Quick changed his mind last night.
Couldn't be more bummed out about Quick, The kid is a gamechanger and the recruit I wanted most this entire year. Hope everybody's wrong and he ends up in the S&G. A Dontre Wilson decommit from Oregon will make me feel a lot better about it though. Either way it'll be a stellar weekend for recruiting for us with Johnson and Mitchell.
Had the "quick" tweets yesterday been anything but vague and ambiguous they would've been NCAA violations. I don't think any accurate conclusions could or should be drawn from them.
I haven't drawn any conclusions, but I sure hope they were in reference to something the staff knows that we don't. Otherwise, it looks bad from a professional standpoint.

What's the staff's prediction on Vonn Bell? Alex, I remember you said you were hearing good things out of his camp... and I saw he's bringing his whole family for a visit. Do you think we have him in the bag?

Thanks for the info. Tough to pull Quick away from his hometown team, especially when they seem to have some buzz around them (and Strong is a good coach). Sounds like Urban and staff really put the work in and got it pretty close.

Uh no. If the reports are right he was osu until last night which means he still is interested and it seems like he's being more forced to choose. Until he signs his name UFM will be recruiting him

Regardless of what's been out recently, I always thought Quick was headed to Louisville. It would be great to have him, but the other options we're looking at are playmakers too. I think of the two we needed Mitchell more and I can't wait to hear the actual announcement.
FWIW I saw somewhere that Wilson said he was still solid on Oregon. Would love to get him but we need WRs now. It's definitely been an exciting recruiting season for the Buckeyes.
Right now is the first time ever that I am hoping that the staff is misinformed. Please be wrong. But great work guys :)
We went 12-0 without Quick at the receiver position and we can do it again. If true, good luck to the lad and we will keep working on the other available prospects till the end...

Alex. At the local basketball game last night one of Franklin County coaches told me Fla called Timmons yesterday and asked him to hold off his commit until they had a chance to visit him. Do you think they already knew about Quick or is this just SOP.
Where did FL come from? They haven't been in the running for Quick for a while. Did you mean to type OSU? Also, I thought Timmons wasn't committing anywhere until after he visited OSU this month?
Fla called Timmons. Most likely they got word about Timmons from Joker Phillips who is now head recruiter and WR coach. I was implying they may have known about Quick picking UL and thinking Timmons would now get OSU offer. Speculation on my part about the timing.
Apparently Wilson is higher than Timmons, so Timmons might not even get the offer anyway. I'd just like for this class to finish out and let us get started on 2014.
Yeah, if Wilson is in play, he definitely holds off Timmons. Don't think Quick and Timmons are even related as far as offers, they play different positions.
Im sorry but after seeing Quick again I think he is even skinnier than he was 1 month ago. Even with shoulder pads he looks skinny
