I feel as if there is a massive "Spin" machine trying to do damage control. Look, he made statements about "her", that he was in contact with her. This means that everything else we are hearing is a lie and is just covering up the damage. He is damaged goods as far as I'm concerned. I'm ready to move on.....It is what it is...and "Its" not pretty.

Even if you take Teo's word that he wasnt behind it and didnt know until late in the game, his statements dont add up -- He continued to sponge off of the sympathy/false story (even after it was exposed, though he now seems to be seeing he just realized it the other day!).

And ND publicized on its athletc dept website a student-led fund drive in the name of the "dead girlfriend" after the NC loss to Alabama, which was two weeks after ND's investigation and knowledge that it was a hoax.

It's also the newspaper that his father blacklisted a week and a half ago, and now they suddenly have an "exclusive" from an unnamed family source that exonerates Manti. Sounds like someone's getting back in the cash cow's good graces. Which makes you wonder... if we know Manti's father knew about what was going to happen as far as the fake GF story getting out, why not make the local paper feel like they owe you something? Then, when the timing is right, they print the right planted story, and refuse to reveal their sources. Hard to believe Manti is as dumb as they're pretending if his father is a maniacal genius.

I'm totally burned out on all things Te'o now. Until I hear Manti speak and answer very specific questions that aren't like slow pitch softball pitches and/or Ronaiah speak and answer very specific questions, I'm not reading anything more on this. There's not going to be any new evidence or information that will bring any of this to an end until one of those guys answers the abundance of questions that need to be answered, so why bother?

Just announced on ESPN that manti interviewed with Jeremy schapp. It will air after okc game tonight.

So really she is in the FBI witness protection program and she really does exist but her personal file was wiped clean by the FBI. The accident and Stanford "never happened". This is stupid. I don't care anymore. I hope he did the whole thing and it ruins Notre Dame football. So be it!

I think Notre Dame and Te'o are both full of shit. It's all about that sympathy vote! Te'o had a nice year, but he's not a Heisman finalist without the sympathy vote and the propaganda machine that is the media. This story proves at the very least that Notre Dame tried to capitalize off of "Lennay" knowing she never really existed, and I find it hard to believe that Te'o didn't do the same.

I agree with one of the commenters on that article on Deadspin - it's at the point where believing Te'o's story is actually more insulting to him than just calling him a big fat liar!
