I don't know if a lot of you wager for fun --- I do, but as you can see below - not a lot - more just the low risk/high reward action. Anyways, I never bet against my favorite college or NFL team: Ohio State or the Steelers. To be honest, I can't think of an OSU football game in the past decade or so since I've been betting, where I didn't think they were going to win. The Steelers on the other hand, if I think they're gonna lose - I usually just don't touch that game. I'll just pass on it, and not bet on the game. I get a little superstitious sometimes, and think that if I bet against my team - then they'll lose. I know, it's kinda crazy, but whatevs. And, I'm sure many of you are happy that the Steelers lost, especially because the Browns &/or Bengals won. It was a strange feeling for me today rooting for the Bengals and against the Steelers in the same day.
Well, this weekend, I decided to do a large parlay (9-teamer) and, like I said, I would never normally bet against my team. But, Big Ben was out, along with LaMar Woodley and a few offensive linemen...and Charlie Batch was starting! Yes, the same Charlie Batch who will turn 38 years young this Wednesday. All of this, and, it's against the Ravens - in Baltimore. Hell, it was the one game I felt the strongest about...even though the Ravens defense (as proved today) is not what it used to be. Well, as many of you probably witnessed, the Ravens & Joe Flacco found a way to lose that game. I'll credit the Steelers for playing tough...but, wow, going into that game - I really didn't think they'd have a real chance. This coming from a person who watches every Steelers game, and knows it's a big rivalry. I'm still shocked Batch moved the ball that well on the Ravens.
Such is the NFL. As you can see it's not a huge loss, ($10), but it's the what-could-have-been-factor, ($825).
My point is, as I have always thought about my lurking superstition --- and now I've learned the lesson & I'll pass the advice along: if you're gonna bet, don't bet against your team...at least not in a parlay.

Wow, so close. That's how those parlays work. But I gotta say - great picks overall. Definitely worth the shot for 10 bucks. Dang. That you even got 8 out of 9 right is crazy...getting 3 in a parlay is tough enough. I get superstitious myself and I never would have thought that the steelers would go into baltimore without ben and beat the ratbirds.
good advice though
On another note, I like browns win, but was a little disappointed t. pryor didn't get in the game.
man, thats rough. I had a big parlay like that for 750 bucks, and missed it on the last game, haha. Terrible.
What do you use, by the way? you can PM me that info if you would like, if not, no worries.
I hit an 8 team parlay this year and was in the middle of a Sport for Spectator class. Needless to say I was fist pumping during the class. Made a nice $750 or so off of it.
nice, William!
those low risk/high reward ones are kind of fun. Yeah, they're frustrating if you miss out on the last game, but what the hey if it's a low wager, like $10.

yeah, it's crazy like that DUBJAY ---- I use sportsinteraction or sportbook.
That's what I get for betting against my Steelers once in a 7-year span haha serves me right

Shoot, I might need to start betting against the Browns! Maybe we'll actually have a winning record!

I had an NFL only parlay like that once back in 2003 and I was perfect the entire day and it came down to the Browns-Steelers game (8pm start). I had Steelers -6 at home and Tim Couch tore the Steelers a new one and I lost it. That wouldve been around a $800 win, too.

Ironically, it was the
lastonly time the Browns won in Heinz./Duff'd It
Not to mention Ike went out on the first series.
Great Steeler win.
that's right, forgot about Ike T.
Ravens success is smoke-in-mirrors this year
