The consensus on this board seems to be that most of us are looking forward to Zeke, Bosa, Barrett, Marshall. I personally cannot wait to see Baugh, Tyquan, and Hill take the field. Baugh's highlights are insane, Hill is a solid SEC-type DT, and I just have a gut feeling that Tyquan is going to tear it up. Who are your 3?

Jalin Marshall, Eli Woodard, and Joey Bosa
Hardly home but always reppin
Marshall -- Dynamic athlete that fits this offense like a glove, versatile player
Bosa -- Dude looks like he has the frame for the college game right now, comes from a great football school, has seen some of the best competition in the country in games
I think those 2 can be first year contributors. Them aside, JT Barrett--Interested to see what a QB that hasn't had to start his freshman year will look like after a few years of learning the system, taking points from experienced/successful QBs in Miller/Guiton. Though I wouldn't hand him the 'Braxton successor' spot over Cordale Jones just yet.
Marshall, Zeke, Woodard in that order. But geez - I'm excited about all of them.
Although we haven't signed 57 players like Texas A&M or UGA, I feel like we have a lot of high quality players. Sprinkle, Bosa, Hill, Burrows, Baugh, Barrett are all going to be big-time players for the S&G, in my opinion. I'm sure I'm missing some but the point is - great class that will be even better by NLOID and with a great group of coaches coaching them!
Champions Bleed Scarlet & Gray
Bosa, Marshall and Woodard. Tyquan Lewis. I wish I could say Trey Johnson and James Quick.
Wayne Woodrow Hayes
Marshall - game changer on offense!
Bosa - game changer on defense!
Townsend - game changer on special teams and a new punter is needed!
Jim tressell approved this message. punter=success.
with all due respect
you are excited about the punter
in 2 years Ohio State wont need to a punter when we are averaging 700 yds plus a game with the likes of Elliot, Jacobs, Marshall, Dunn, Ball and Barrett
I'm a friend of thunder is it any wonder lightning strikes me
Maybe the offense will be unstoppable in the near future but realistically the punter is an important part of each game and since Buchanan stunk up the joint most of the time I think Townsend could play an important role in next seasons run to the BCS Championship.
Also as far as Freshman getting playing time Townsend will be on the field more than half of the class and he will have plenty of opportunities to pin teams or boom big punts to change field position and yet again Buchanan sucked at this!
Its not your Tressel ball Bollman offense anymore.
While hangtimes are exciting, sub 4.4s are a little more to me.
I'm a friend of thunder is it any wonder lightning strikes me
Yeah sub 4.4's win championships..just ask Lamar "flash" Thomas, Jamal Berry, James Louis...
I'm betting Notre Dame and Alabama don't have a bunch of sub 4.4 guys. It's all about winning in the trenches and tough suffocating defense.

No reason you can't have both.
So you also are excited about the punter
and I agree speed isnt important the fact that you brought up the names of three players that didnt work out ignoring the hundreds that did
with Urbans tenure at Florida there were a few that helped
Demps, Rainey, Harvin
My point is that with our offense Townsend wont see the field that much
Ask Oregons punter how important he feels to the team compared to Barner, Thomas and Marotta
I'm a friend of thunder is it any wonder lightning strikes me
Punters win championships and get the lady's.

I'm excited about the punter too! Guy can boot it and really, after Ben "slower than molassas" Buchanan, it will be nice to have a punter that will change field position with a punt!
Where's the italics for sarcasm?
I really hope you were being sarcastic.

Burrows. Class leader, but perhaps a bit too big for a corner. I'd love to see how he plays.
Bosa. For the same reasons as others mentioned.
Elliott. With Jordan Hall back, his role may be limited. However, if he gets an opportunity I think he will capitalize
Sorry, I have to use the positions.
Barrett- the type of QB we need for this offense.
Woodard, Burrows, and Conley- Solid DB play for the future, is at the heart of a good defense.
Bosa, Hill, and Lewis- continue to stack the D-line..
I might have to change my mind..
I'm excited to see Elliott and Marshall in this offense. Baugh as a pass catching TE could make the offense sky rocket!
Gardner, Sprinkle, Jacobs..the unsung guys from this recruit class. they may not be starters right away. but the better the competition is on the practice field, the better the end product is on saturdays
I can dig this. The big names are easy to get excited for, but I am always interested to see how those guys pan out. Also I am excited for the punter (thanks to Tress).
Baugh, Bosa and Mashall.
The 2012 National Champions.
Woodard,Jacobs, and Sprinkle
Burrows, zeke and bosa. Burrows is the ringleader of this class. And he's a big, physical, fast db. you have to love that. Zeke is just a playmaker...and should fit this offense like a glove. Going to be special. And bosa is a man among boys right now...one can only wonder what a year with coach mick will do to further that.
Overall, I'm loving this class. The best part is it can only get better from here!
Bosa- has been my favorite recruite since I saw his grey box, not to mention dude is a monster and his game film is awesome.
Elliot- it seems like everytime he touches the ball he takes it to the house
Sprinkle- I grew up in the Elyria area so I am excited to see how he plays out
Can I have a to be continued??? If Mitchell commits then he will be in my top 3. Right now it's:
Marshall
Bosa
Lewis
All of them
Bosa, Zeke, Marshall
Well said O, I'm right there with ya
Tracy Sprinkle without a doubt. Darron Lee next. The guy is hungry to prove himself. And of course Zeke who could be a Heisman type talent.
Very hard to pick, without regretting it later.
I think Darron Lee is going to be solid and cant wait to see him play. He earned that scholarship.
Ezekiel Elliott and Jalin Marshall are going to be explosive! Also Joey Bosa sackin fools John Simon style!!!
this is exactly the guys i think are gonna be solid as well. I watched Lee in the playoffs and he is an incredible athlete will be interesting to see where he ends up. I think elliott and marshall will get good PT next year for sure. Bosa is just a beast will be in the rotation from day one.
Bosa,Woodard, and Zeke!!Hard to choose just 3!!
SCOTTC.
Ezekiel Elliott, Eli Woodard, Tracy Sprinkle
Elliot, Marshall, Baugh in that order... I want to see more playmakers in this offense.
Marshall, Zeke, Bosa.
Bosa...Bosa...and Bosa!!!
Marshall, Zeke and I know he may not even get a offer, Ryan Timmons. I really think the possibilities are insane with those three and Braxton. Also I think Timmons would be that threat at KR that we haven't had in years.
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
Think Johnny Townsend is worth mentioning. Will more than likely see the field from Game 1, but I'm hoping we won't actually see him a whole lot because the offenese is moving the ball. Although his protection failed him a few times, Ben Buchanan didn't do himself any favors by taking far too much time to get punts off. Hopefully Johnny will have the ability to flip the field when needed, something BB was unable to do.
So that means next year .We will have our own Johnny Football.
Have to echo the popular choices here: Marshall, Zeke, Bosa, and in that order. Marshall's stock slipped a little during camp season, but he's an explosive football player who has the ability to take this offense to another level of menace.
For me its Hill, Marshall and Bosa but development wise im going Barrett, Lisle, and Gardner.
Zeke, Sprinkle, Woodard
Bosa
Woodard
Marshall
EzE (would have been Barrett even if no knee injury just because it will be longer before we see him), Bosa, and Woodard (with T-Jacobs right behind him). Personally I feel Burrows, Woodard, Jacobs and Conley are all going to be very destructive on both sides of the ball. I'm excited to see these guys in action.

Speed, speed, and more speed!
It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog
Do you think 155lbs will contribute? Add the 25 lbs and 4.38 becomes 4.5.
Chris Rainey, jeff demps and brandon james contributed just fine down in gator country for Coach Meyer. All of them are also extremely thin. Speed over size everyday of the week!
It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog
They won the NC with the bigger guys, tebow and Harvin. Not that Harvin is that big but Rainey and demos are small.
Those guys weren't really thin just short. They were all pretty lean and muscular.

For a scatback or slot receiver? Sure.
I don't really get your pessimistic vibe about Jacobs, perhaps besides your love for Timmons. If Mike Mitchell can run a 4.4 at his size, I'm not worried about any of them bulking up. Braxton's gained 10-15 pounds since arriving at OSU; is he slower?
Sorry man, but I'll trust Coach Marotti to optimize his physical capability.
Bucksnut and Urbz have a point. Not your ordinary team. You got one of the best in Mickey Marotti. He's no slouch. Florida had great success.
Hell, he can make big men run, I'm not worried about it.
Jacobs can be our Kickoff/Punt returner if he wanted to be.
Last time I checked he has good hands and great speed.
4.47 40
4.19 20 yard shuttle
31.4 Vertical
Not to bad for a small guy. Jacobs is 165, Marshall 190 & Zeke 195 btw. Not sure who this 155lb guy you speak of. Conley is about 165 too. You have to remember they are kids and still in high school.
Marotti will get work done, don't fret about it.
Jacobs is 155 tops. Might be listed differently but 155 would be my guess. I hope he does turn into another TG Wouldnt be the first time I was wrong, its happened to me once or twice. Not pessimistic at all reality is only 1 or 2 frehmen maybe 3 will see much playing time next year.
My guess would be Bosa, and 2 more yet to be signed (and no I am not talking about Timmons)
this was a 12-0 team with most pieces back and to be sophmore now ready to contribute more.
Way....Jacobs will be just fine with his so called small size. Just watch his Jr and Sr highlights and see if you're more comfortable afterwards (it's like a TD scoring highlight reel on both sides of the ball and his returning TDs are great as well). Jacobs will gain weight under Mickey and will not lose a step. Did you see how well OSU looked as far as conditioning and improvement on gaining lean muscle...no need to worry (tackling...well that's another story). I'd say Jacobs, Marshall, Conley (now and boy do I love that one) and EzE are going to add GREAT speed to a team that's starting to find it with the upper classmen. I'm personally very happy with the speed Urban and CO. have brought in and they're not done yet;-)

Yeah Teddy was a pencil when he came in and you see how that worked out. Alot of these guys arent even 18yrs old yet. I was a twig when I was 18!!
you are wrong add 25lbs of muscle and a 4.38 becomes a 4.33
there is a reason why Olympic Sprinters take steroids

Fast twitch muscle fibers = Speed. I agree.

Zeke
Sprinkle
Woodard
Sprinkle, Conley and Gardner. All are underrated and seem pretty determined to prove their doubters wrong. I thought I read somewhere that Gareon has only been playing football for 3 years. Ton of upside!
Conley is ranked as one of the best 150 players of 50,000 hs players. Not exactly underrated.
Bosa
Woodard
Lisle
Kind of disturbing not a sole took Austintowns B.Price-DT......This is my choice for a exciting player to look forward to.....Just a bigger (Simon)...All NEO-INLAND,Def-player of the year (Inland), All State 1st team DT and shared DEF. player of year with Sprinkle(Elyria),Jones(Moeller).......My order is -PRICE-DT.....BOSA-DE......ZEKE-Rb.........................Tellin ya peoples this kid will be in the mix on D-Line !
sprinkle......sleeper of the class super underrated unreal film
marshall.....lightning in a bottle
hill...big time southern recruit coming to ohio #1 player in sc
O'Deez330
stark county football
Marshall... Urban wanted playmakers, and this may be our best in this class.
Woodard... Taking away the big play is crucial, and Urban loves shutdown corners (see: Joe Haden)
Price... A larger version of John Simon, hopefully they keep him on the defensive side of the ball so he can crush and destroy worlds.
He (Price) is recruited for DT,with the given shot he will crush worlds.......The kid is in the gym 7 days a week and is so ready for this big step in his life...
Marshall, Cam, & EZ!!!
All. Of. Them.

Not the instant impact freshman guys, everyone is thinking but the guys I think will make a huge difference in their JR/SR years.
Offense:
Conley - The upside on this guy is ridiculous. Only his second year of football, are you kidding me? Huge! Reminiscent of Gamble 6'1" 180lbs eventually 2way athlete. A guy can dream.
Baugh - Huge mismatch, a great safety valve for any QB (Barrett/Barker?)
Jacobs - Burner at punt returner.
Defense:
Hill - Space eater. Hankins Part deaux hopefully
Any Linebacker that commits.
BOSA, BOSA, BOSA!!!
Fat fingers + phone = stupid down vote for OP. someone please correct my error.
im excited for bosa and zeke. call me optomistic...but im also psyched for vonn bell in scarlet and grey!
Based off of who has commited so far, I would have to say the following future Buckeyes have me the most excited: Jalin Marshall, Gareon Conley and Joey Bosa.
Marshall is an explosive runner, I think he will contribute right away and bring that little bit of extra *something* that the offense was missing this season. Or, to put it more bluntly, fill that 'Percy Harvin' role that everyone has been talking about.
For Conley, I'm excited to see waht he can do partly due to the fact of the flip from UM to OSU. I think he can really improve the WR position, he was phenomenal this past year as a WR. Also, a very good cover corner. Seems like he could be playing either side of the ball.
Lastly, Bosa has all the makings of a beast. He plays against a high level of competition in Florida and has done very well. I know OSU is more on a national recruiting than under Tress, but it was great to see him come out of Florida given the strength of in-state programs and other SEC programs down there.
Overall, very excited about the class in general. Looking forward to seeing how Townsend, Munger, Gardner, Lee and Sprinkle work out. Sometimes the unheralded prospects end up being the best.
Help is on the way.
Who can pick just 3? There's so much awesome in this class, I dont think I can pick just 3....
Knee jerk response is... Bosa, Zeke, Burrows!
Bosa for sure, especially if he comes in and makes an impact like Simon did as a frosh.
"Sherman ran an option play right through the south" - Greatest.Civil.War.Analogy.Ever
Everyone is going with the obvious. I have no doubt that players like Burrows and Sprinkle will make an impact at some point but I view them as development projects. Since Burrows is enrolling early, I think he may be somewhat polished by the time fall comes. My 3 are:
Bosa- he is physically read to be our strong-side. He is powerful and demands doible temas because of his quickness and athleticism. Only thing that can slow him down is getting hurt
Woodard- I believe that Woodard is our best defensive back coming in this year. He read plays really well and has the actual skills to jump on the ball in deep pass situations and shorter routes. He is faster and better in coverage than Burrows just as long.
Lisle- with Lisle, I see a boom or bust factor. He can barrel some people off the line in the run game. He is currently our only tackle commit, which is good for him bc it is a position of need right now.
I am looking forward to seeing what Woodard, Zeke and Baugh can all do. I think Zeke could be the biggest surprise of them all.
Woodard-Marshall-Bosa (If we get T. Johnson) put him after Woodard
SGTREDLEG
If we can get a secondary to stay on receivers a half second or one second longer, the ends are going to eat up the QBs.
SGTREDLEG
once we get mitchell he'll move in the picture for me. I would also put bell obviously if we can get him. I finish with marshall he's gonna fit right in the harvin roll and probably show up hall.
Like so many said, hard to pick just 3 but...
1) JT Barrett. I keep watching tape and reading about this kid. We all know he can run but they are saying he is the best passer of all the dual threat QBs and is very smooth and accurate. He runs so determined to where he wants to go but also follows his blockers well. But his passing. He is accurate, he can throw a great deep ball and on the run too. Quick release, mechanically sound. They say he is short but he is 205 already and should get to about 220 at least and that is stout for a 6'1'' QB. Think Russell Wilson but in a better situation with the power zone read option. He gets to throw to Marshall, Jacobs, Baugh, Quick, Gibson, and Zeke plus Mike Thomas for the next couple of years after Braxton. Everyone is getting crazy over Barker and 2014. Don't overlook Barrett, kid is a leader and can do it all in an offense talior made for him.
2)Bosa, Bosa, Bosa. Excited about all the Dlinemen but this guy just seems to bleed S&G. Can't help but love that guy. Price, Hill and the others may be better or potentially better but Bosa will be the hands down leader of this line much like Simon was. I have no doubt he will lead but the guy I think will be the best on the line from this class...
3) Tracy Sprinkle - lookout for this guy! Relentless is his middle name and he will be making a mark shortly. He may not start right away but if he gets his chance, might not get him out of the lineup! While everyone else has the talent, this guy gets twice the stats because of work on a very solid skill set. He uses his hands so well and gets so much pressure. could end up being a 3rd down pass rush specialist this year.
but really, hard to not like all of them. I can see this class being the first of many that will have few weaknesses across the board. I don't see one guy that is here just to fill a spot. All have the potential for something special.
Marshall, Easy E, and Bosa. JT is a close 4th.
I'll probably redo this Feb 1st.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
1) Bell
2) Mitchell
3) Quick
