Urban is a UC alum and played there in the 80's. His sister apparently is an administrator there now. Seems they wanted Urban to lobby for their inclusion in the ACC on their behalf. Urban, however, didn't feel comfortable doing this. Pretty interesting stuff.

All that blog proved to me is that ESPIN and the media will always be digging for dirt on OSU. This was a non-story but since Meyer and OSU was involved it becomes headline worthy. And who gives a rat's ass what Adam Rittenberg thinks?

I'm anti-E!SPiN as much as the any Buckeye fan, but there wasn't anything bad in that article.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
^ I see what you did there (E!) and I like it.
Nothing like dancing on the field in 02...
The article indicates that ESPN had to do some legwork to get the Meyer email. They had to expend more energy than normal to get it. That was my point. It seems to me they'd claw and scrape to find anything they can post about OSU, yet we never see them doing the same for the SEC schools. My point was more about how they seemed to dig to get that email in hopes it would've turned into a negative story.

Dude, did you even read the post? The info about the e-mail came from the Cincy Enquirer, not ESPN.
Yes I read it, Tennessee. True, Enquirer broke the story, but ESPN didnt have to report it and neither did Rittenberg. That was my point. That they took something that really was just a small story and tried (and failed) to make it bigger. my point being they will go to any lengths to report anything potentially negative. yes, I am prejudiced against ESPN. All I see is bias. Would we have seen this on ESPN if that was Nick Saban's relative?

Dude, you're reaching. This article is in NO WAY WHATSOEVER painting OSU in a bad light. In fact Rittenberg, an ESPN employee, says Meyer made the right call. So please, enlighten us on how this is a negative shot at OSU? If anything, it shows UC's desperation.
Umm, The Enquirer obtained the email. What else ya got?
Yeah this makes UC look bad, not OSU or Urban. In fact, it makes OSU and Urban look good for staying out of the whole situation. I think ESPN reported it because they think people will see Urban Meyer's name and read it.
Class of 2010.
This info has been out for several days on multiple news outlets...ESPN was one of the last to cover this. Not sure how this proved any anti-OSU agenda.
Urban is the man! He's like a pop star sometimes...everyone wants a piece of him.
Urban-mania!
At least little brother knows their place.
I hate ESPN as much as the next Buckeye fan, but this is a non-issue. Typically, the Big Ten bloggers are not nearly as biased as their more visible colleagues like Shlabach, Herbstreit, Mark May, etc. If anything, the Bug Ten Blog and Rittenberg are a haven from the normal anti-B10 company line.
We can't stop here; this is bat country...
Not all Buckeye fans think ESPN is the anti-Christ. Too often we focus on the negative and forget the positive stories. I agree, the SEC bias is annoying(though it's not just ESPN that is guilty of this) but the idea that ESPN is "out to get" OSU is kind of absurd as ESPN makes money off OSU.
*Big, not bug. Stupid phone.

Good call by Urban.

I have a different theory.
Urban told them "You don't want to go to the ACC. Let them take Louisville. Go hire Tuberville. And then in another year or two, the Big XII is going to come calling. And that's a hell of a lot better than the ACC.
