The timing of his resignation surprised me. He has been on the hot seat since he arrived in Lubbock and has failed to win over the fan base (no one could've won them over though since all ttu fans a still waiting for Mike Leach, the Messiah, to return).
The destination, however, doesn't surprise me at all. When I spoke with Tommy back in August, he mentioned that his wife is from Lawrenceburg, Indiana so it makes sense that she would like to be closer to home. She also has had a tough time since arriving in Lubbock since she was at fault in a car accident that claimed the life of a passenger in the other vehicle. Their son just graduated from high school and based upon the quickness with which he resigned, I'd be willing to bet that they were looking to get closer to home.
Whew.....a collective sigh of relief
I think he was probably on his way out of Texas Tech after he pimp slapped one of his asst coaches on national tv.
