I put this in the football forum because of the football related scandals at PSU we all know too well. I got so sick of hearing PSU football fans being all high and mighty - here's another PSU "shining moment," albeit not related to the football team itself.

This is news?
Edit - Not calling you our Avail, just more surprised this was actually considered newsworthy by Yahoo.
Right - it's a tasty tidbit for us - no doubt - but the only reason this is news (at my best guess) is due to the recent goings-on at PSU. Otherwise, would we even hear about this?
Have you ever read Yahoo! News? This is big time compared to the "top ten cities with the best cab rides".

LOL - upvote
More importantly, clicking this link just informed me that Dave Brubeck has died. That's a real tragedy. Time Out is among the best records of the "Cool Jazz" movement; highly recommended for all you audiophiles out there.
RIP Dave Brubeck
And you're right Hodge, Time Out is a freakin' masterpiece.
Probably #3 of my favorite all time Jazz records. Kind of Blue is first by a country mile, then Bitches Brew and Time Out.
Coltrane's A Love Supreme is up there, as well.
Head Hunters.

Hodge - I knew you were a cool cat, but now your status has been raised.
My top 5 would probably be
Kind of Blue -Davis, A Love Supreme-Coltrane, Time Out- Brubeck, Mingus Ah Um -Mingus, Brilliant Corners -Monk
But man, its tough cause there are SO MANY good jazz records out there.
Ahhh! Forgot about Mingus Ah Um, great record; though, I think "Haitian Fight Song" is probably my favorite individual track he ever cut ("Better Git it in Your Soul" is close, though).
Not a huge Jazz fan but I love Dean Frasier and Pimpers Paradise is my favorite. A bit of caribbean jazz.
Upvoted Time Out, not Brubeck's death. Oddly, I was just talking about Brubeck yesterday.

Somethin' Else with Cannonball Adderly, Miles Davis, Hank Jones, Sam Jones, and Art Blakey. Just "Autumn Leaves", by itself, is brilliant.
Here is a tasty bit from my alma mater, The University of Dayton:

I do not see why this is sooooooo outrageous. It was a joke, nothing more, everyone should relax a little. Having fun with steotypes is ok in my book.
But, I am also one of the people who is still outraged that Speedy Gonzales was taken off the air because it "perpetuated negative sterotypes". I call shenanigan's.
the reactions to a pokin' a little fun are getting so out of hound these days... ugghh... #facepalm

I thought I was gonna see Jerry Sandusky being hoisted up by players and welcomed as a hero by the 1986 National Championship team or something. Would that be classy?
According to PSU fans, maybe!.... Zing?

yahoo is pathetic this a is a south of the border party, which ARE ALWAYS based on stereotypes unless they hire a latino party consulting firm/party planning company.
p.s. yahoo also published an article about how native americans were "outraged" over a Vic Secret model wearing a chief headdress with a piece of lingerie
p.p.s. i still haven't noticed the headdress yet, my eyes are on other things
