Ohio State’s pursuit of a linebacker has taken the Buckeyes to the junior college level, where the squad is eyeing one of the key members of the national runner-up Butler Community Grizzlies.

Outside linebacker Tommy Sanders of Cordele, Ga. will join the likes of Gareon Conley (Massillon, Ohio/Washington), Mike Mitchell (Plano, Texas), David Dawson (Detroit/Cass Tech) and Donovan Munger (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights) on an official visit to Ohio State this weekend .

“I’m looking to meet the coaches and players and see what they have to offer,” said Sanders, who doesn’t have an offer from the Buckeyes just yet. “I’ll be looking at the academics and the community, and how well the program is being supported.”

Ohio State is aggressively chasing sophomore cornerback Rico McGraw.

The standout 2015 prospect from Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth said he spoke with Buckeyes coaches on Monday evening. Recruiters from the school were scheduled to be at his school on Tuesday.

"They just told me how interested they were and were planning for an early offer soon," McGraw said of the Buckeyes.

With his junior season behind him, Jonathan Haden is ready to visit some prospective colleges.

The running back from Washington (D.C.) Friendship said he will visit Ohio State soon and is considering a visit to North Carolina as well.

"I'm very open-minded," the 5-foot-8, 180-pound prospect said. "I have seen North Carolina and I like them a lot. I just plan on getting to some schools so I can see how they are."

Am I the only one uncomfortable about Vonn Bell announcing before he takes an official to OSU? Just sounds weird to me that he wants to announce then take an official.

I think its strange because most take multiple officials, but I think he already knows where he wants to go and the official will be simply a formality.

I went to watch Vonn play last Friday night and the kid is definitely a stud.  I sat next to a former player from the high school who told me that Vonn has been telling people lately he is all Alabama.  And I know this doesn't mean a whole lot, and could be false but just thought I would pass it along.

I sure hope you're wrong WOOD.  Need Vonn in this class!

Just look at Bama's amount of DB's compared to OSU's....Bama has like 20 DB's we have like 12.  Our depth chart isn't as, what shall we say, oversigned.  I'm still going with All Buckeyes.

I personally think Bell's in and has been for a while.  Tenn is in a tornado of crap at the moment and many have speculated that no matter what happens...he's all in with them or Bama.  I don't think so...he came in June for camp and loved it (said it was his best visit)...I think he's going to commit and then take his official to tOSU.  I've heard his family isn't in to making three or more visits when he's already decided.  We can speculate all we want...I'm going with all Buckeye...bc Urban rocks and why not play for a coach who went undefeated in his first year???  Makes sense to me...

I agree with you.

People tend to forget that Bell visited TWICE during the summer for extended trips.

He's already seen all he's wanted to of OSU.

And some Tennessee recruiting sites are picking Bell to OSU.

Like our chances.

Think he is staying home and choosing Tennessee.

Read multiple reports claiming only Alabama and tOSU at this point.

Man I feel bad saying this but I just don't see Elijah Hood at RB at OSU.. He has some shiftiness but doesn't seem to hit the hole very hard or run full speed much. He looks like an end or LB with his size. Jalen Hurd and Jonathan Haden still tops for me!

I thought he looked good. He definitely had some moves and when he wanted to move, he really could. Kid definitely has another gear. I like that OSU is recruiting NC more, especially with how fast the state is growing and with how much talent it is putting out. Although I don't see schools being able to poach as much talent anymore from NC, which is something that UF has done a lot of lately, because Fedora and Doeren have really expressed their want to put up a wall around the state and recruit it heavily. That was always one of O'Brien's failures at NC State, he was a good developer of talent, but he just let SEC schools have free reign in NC. Hell, both of Georgia's freshman running backs, Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall, are from NC.

I thought Hood looked good and shows the staff is still looking at some power backs.  I think the staff will still go after guys like Haden and Hurd.

I think Derek mentioned this in another tread but I think it bares repeating: if you look back at Meyer's recruiting at Florida, he very very rarely had commits for next years class before signing day of the current year. It seems to me like he prefers to keep the focus on the current class and then have the kids start committing in February.

Not saying this is definitely what is happening with Snodgrass but its something to think about.

Well yeah, Ensworth is Corn Elder and Rico McGraw's school so it's a no brainer they did.

Kinda wierd stevens has TAMU on top when they already have like 30 guys committed how many more can they take

EvanstonBuckeye's picture

They're in the SEC now; they can take 20 more kids. 30+20-30 schollies pulled=SEC championship.

SEC math.

The highlights for Shy Tuttle are pretty insane.  He blew through the line when he was double-teamed with regularity and it looks like he could still put mass on that frame...he looks scary good.
