I thought I'd pass this along:
I watched 2014 OSU RB target Jalen Hurd from Tennessee play in the State Title game on TV last night. He had a monster game and set the championship game record for yards and touchdowns. Hurd had 34 carries for 394 yards and scored 7 touchdowns in the game. He finished his season with 3,357 total yards. And he still has one more year of high school!
The guys doing the game were talking about his future and how so many schools are after him (Vanderbilt's coach was at the game). And then one of the guys says "Jalen REALLY likes Ohio State and he loves what Urban Meyer does on offense."
Iknow he visited OSU for The Game last weekend and enjoyed his visit.
As an OSU fan I would love to see this kid playing in Columbus.

wow... just wow..... and still 1 year left???? disgusting man. nice update
here are the highlighs from the game. man the kid is good.

Nice highlights and rediculous stats! Reminds me of Ty Issac a little bit
does he remind you of ty isaac because they have similar builds/appearance? because they run totally different offensive systems...
Yeah just simply the build/ frame. Tall lengthy back just running away from people. Kid looks like a beast
He's a lot better than Ty Issac. This guy can possibly be an early commit and lead our 2014 class with hopefully Drew Barker. Think about that selling point.
Hurd will be the number 1 playier going into 2014 recruting season FOR THE COUNTRY.
Unlikely, Hand is head and shoulders better than anybody in the class. He could easily be number 1 in this years class.
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
Yeah, no expert agrees with you here
I watched the second half on ESPN3. I'll say this: I've never seen an offensive player in high school (other than Pryor) who dominiated his competition at such an extreme level. He's playing in 5A too, which is like Oiho's D1. He has a real shot at being the 2014 #1 with a big senior year.
WOW fastest white kid I have seen in a while! Go Bucks!
He's mixed...
If he's a mixture he might end up being like B. Saine (big, fast, good hands). Saine was more of an athlete though and did'nt have great RB skills. Hopefully Hurd chooses OSU and he displayes the best attributes of all our recent running backs.
"Get him a body bag, Yeah!"
I was gonna say I've never met or heard of a white game named Jalen before in my life.

Why do people always bring race up. The only thing care about his a good football player yes his.
@OSUFORLIFE its simply a white running back being the #1 recruit in the nation is very rare. Thats why its brought up. Nobody means anything by it, its just something people notice. Go Bucks!!!
Wow dude was in beast mode
Buckeye till I'm dead
Race has nothing to do with talent.
Seven touch downs in one game will make someone standout. I hope this kid chooses Ohio State!
You tell the SEC when they can learn to read and write, then they can figure out what we're doing. - Gordon Gee
I agree. I'm not sure if people took my comment the wrong way when I corrected the poster who said "he's the fastest white guy", but it won't let me edit it for whatever reason. The kid is talented as hell, I just hate when people compare/contrast players athletically based on race; analysts do it all the time. Especially with running backs/wide receivers.
Uhh, tell that to about 80% of the world who thinks differently.

hurd will add weight by next year and shoulder will heal. I really think he to tall for rb in college around 6" 3". He plays tough teams every year. His competion is alot better then Elders. Hurd is very smooth he looks like he no Trying at times but he is. I seen him play 5 times this year. Most teams play 8 or 9 in the box when they play him. When he got hurt I belive Wilson Central put 10 in the box. He miss almost 2 games or would had 3600 yeards rushing this year. The game he played after injury against Gallatin all did his played slot and Wr just a decoy.
I am not going to claim to be a recruiting expert by any means. But I don't see how we can make a conclusion that he is definitley the #1 RB based on these highlights. Just watching the video, he seems to be at least 5-10 yrds down field nearly every carry before he is even touched. Sometimes the defense does not lay a hand on him at all. I do like how he seems to set up his blocks, but by my count he broke exactly one tackle on the film...However, he definatley has some jets. And just going by his size he looks more like a receiver type build to me but this video has no highlights of his ball catching ability.
What I do see is an offensive line that is providing some enormous holes to run through. Does anyone know of any of their linemen having offers anywhere? Just a little curious to find that out.
I'm not trying to dismiss Jalen in any way, simply stating I would like to see more video on him before jumping to those conclusions.
“Right now, Michigan is not at the pinnacle of college football, and that’s all Urban Meyer cares about...He’s been there and knows what it takes to get there.”
All recruting expers say when the 2014 class ranking come Hurd is #1
They're already out.....
Hurd will be probably a 5 star, but not number one

Will he actually stay at RB in college? I could easily see him sliding outside depending on his hands
One of the reasons he has OSU at number 1 I've heard is the fact that we are recruiting him as a RB. Bama wants him as a receiver and I heard that turned him off. He wants to play RB in college and I really think he'll be a great back

He has good hands plays wr and Db.
I also heard some teams want him as outside linebacker.
I have heard this as well, but Jalen has repeatedly stated he wants to play RB

James Franklin actually committed a recruiting violation last night trying to talk to Hurd. I'm not sure if he broke a NCAA or TSSAA rule but a local sports writer from the Murfreesboro area was tweeting about it. I'd really like to pick this kid up.
From what I can gather, it's a TSSAA rule that coaches must stay away from teams/players @ state title games. Franklin and some assistants came in to congratulate Hurd's coach in the media area, but supposedly did not speak directly to Hurd (although Hurd was present). Doesn't seem to be an NCAA violation only TSSAA.
yea, he is an absolute beast!!
Moreso than Ty Isaac, he reminds me of TJ Yeldon with his vertical running style + length (I also personally feel that Jalen Hurd and TJ Yeldon are CONSIDERABLY more talented than Ty Isaac). So long as he can avoid being exposed to too many hits (I always worry about that with Yeldon, and Yeldon has fumbled in a few big games based on the fact that his height + running style leaves him exposed to getting whalloped), he should be fantastic. Instant Freshman impact.
Dunn, Jalen, and Easy E in the back field is a scary thought.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Throw in a speed back (like Corn Elder this year or Myles Autry next) and you've got one scary stew brewing!
^ Easy E's dead brah..may he rest in peace.
