I have them 4th on my list of hated B1G teams. Mostly because they ruined my childhood in 1998.

Should have been a holding call, he grabbed his jersey coming out of the break pretty severely.
Also looked like a fumble by Boyken. He was falling backwards and the ball came out before his ass hit the turf.

Well that one is tough, they called his forward progress stopped prior to the fumble. I think refs often let the play go to long on those and just let the defense rip the ball out long after any forward progress was stopped.
This is a terrible matchup for Sparty. TCU's QB is a poor mans BMiller.

The comparison to Brax made me lol. Boykin has 300 yards rushing, 3 rushing TDs, and averages around 3 yards a carry on the season.

I don't think he's been their QB all season...
He moves well and is built like Braxton.

He started 9 of 12. See: the 3.3 yards per rush average, 380 rushing yards, 3 rushing TDs vs. Braxton's 5.6 w/1271 rushing yards, 13 rushing TDs. Braxton is on a whole different level as a runner, that's all I'm saying.
He is a true freshman but even then his numbers don't come close to Braxon's freshman year.

He's a (RS)Fresh BB, Brax was the #1, 5* Dual-threat QB in the 2011 class, Boykin was the #24, 3* D-T QB in that class. Not that stars count for anything (see Manziel), but that's why I was originally familiar with him.
EDIT: (Here since it won't let me edit my post prior to this) Boykin started 8 rather than 9. Played extensively in the 9th but didn't start, my bad on that one!
Sun Devils stadium is nice. I've been out there once and I like what Mill Ave., Scottsdale and the campus has to offer. Hope they are enjoying it out there!

Every play is basically MSU's secondary blowing coverage while TCU's WRs run go routes repeatedly.

I'm going to reply to my own comment after that play. If I'm Pat Narduzzi, I'm just going to line up all 11 men on the line of scrimmage in hopes of getting to the QB, since that secondary isn't helping at all.

Gotta wonder if they go down 14 whether MSU's offense is even capable of digging out of that sort of hole the way they've played this year.
The defense will def need to win it for them if that happens.

My grandmother, may she rest in peace, is long gone but I'm fairly certain that right now, as a dead person, she could get open long against Sparty's secondary.
If I was MSU, next year I'd bench every WR who started a game in 2012 that didn't graduate and start with a fresh 4-5 haha. Dear lord, rewatched the OSU/Mich and MSU/Mich games recently, and has there ever been a corps of WRs who dropped the ball more often? Turrrrible.
Good God, the B1G is terrible. Sparty looks awful. Not just their offense, but defense. TCU is playing a junior high team.
I've really tried to defend the B1G in years past, but this may be the last year I do that. How can you defend this? It's just pathetic.
At the end of the Bowl season this will all be Ohio State and Penn State fault when the B1G is 0-7. If we weren't banned, MSU would be playing in the Little Ceaser Bowl. Brace yourself for the headline.

Let's call it 0-8. Rutgers choked away their bowl in the final quarter, so they've proven they are ready to be considered part of the conference.
I guess that means the B1G will need to add Oregon State, Nevada, and Duke too.
I think I'm ready to turn off this game. Unless Andrew Maxwell channels his inner Kirk Cousins and repeats this, the BWW Bowl is yet another facepalm for the conference.

I always liked Kirk Cousins...but I respect him much more after this year. I think it's fair to say that this is gonna be another B1G loss...let's see if we can pull one win this year.

I don't think this game will end well for ol sparty .. actually I don't think it will end well for any big ten team in a bowl lol. I hate to say that but its lookin that way. Georgia vs Nebraska . Michigan vs South Carolina . Northwestern vs Mississippi S . Minnesota already went down. I don't really think one big ten the will prevail. Good luck .

I don't think the B1G will win a single bowl game. This will just add to the struggle of OSU getting respect for dominating our conference next year and the foreseeable future.
This is just painful. Watching Sparty's offense is like drinking some mix of Kool-Aid and motor oil repeatedly and wondering why I don't feel better about the B1G (and why my liver hurts so much). Even when Maxwell doesn't look completely shellshocked, his WRs run around as if they have ping pong paddles for hands.

Michigan states offense is so terrible
I thought the same thing when TCU played Texas earlier this year, but Gary Patterson is a fantastic coach. If I was the AD at almost any school in the country other than OSU, Bama, or LSU (LSU might be a little questionable haha), I'd kill to have Patterson or Petersen from Boise State. They've done more with less over the years than almost anyone.
This is only a small taste of what's going to happen to the other Big Ten teams

Dantonio and the Spartys must have been hitting the crack pipe instead of hitting the practice field for the last month; they are totally inept and have clue on offense. Right now a toss up as to who sucks more as coach; Dantonio or Kill.

I'm sure we all can question his play calling in why he was letting M. Gray throw the ball instead of nelson and why they weren't playing to score the go ahead winning drive and not running the ball with Gray in as WR but face the facts, his team was inexperienced in these situations and young. Nelson will make for a good QB and they will get better!

I don't think Maxwell has progressed at all as a passer through the season. Not to mention when he does make a nice throw, or good decision usually his "guys outside" drop the ball. I call them that because in order to be called a reciever you must catch the ball.

Well to be the best you have to play the best that's another reason why the sec is so good all year long they play tough oppenents week in and week out well once conference play starts. We will be playing less than average ball clubs all year then at the end of the year we really don't know what to expect going into a huge bowl game against say Alabama. Georgia . LSU . South Carolina . Florida . Need I go on lol All of them are very tough teams I'd say for us. And more of course outside of the conference . We need to start scheduling power house teams in our non conference games so we know what its like playing a championship caliber team so we can get the feel for them. The big ten is not lookin so hot when it comes to football. This year was embarrassing conference wise. For us amazing. I just hope we can adapt from playing poor clubs all year to at the end of the year playing a big boy team haha. Never the less Ohio State is going to dominate the big ten. Go Bucks

I thought the exact same thing. In a weird way, I really hope that Michigan continues to recruit the way they are, and develops that talent--so we have at least one really talented team to play against in conference. Otherwise OSU is going to have to go from 0 to 60 when they get to BCS games and play (the first studs they've faced all year) out of conference.
I despise the rest of the B1G with a passion, but know that the conference being down does OSU no favors. I have to walk that thin line between not giving a damn about any of them and hoping they make our in-conference slate look beefy enough for a title run.

Still had to drive 65 yards for a TD (or in this case hit a 53 yd FG), hard to say that won the game.
I don't know 53 + 15 is 68, and while that kid has a big leg I don't think it is that big.
Different play calling when you aren't in FG range. Hard to just add them like that.

Those timeouts by MSU were a bit strange, but they definitely paid off going into this drive. Although he just burned his last one with 2 minutes left, not smart in my mind when you need a FG.
I think the TOs were to leave enough time for this drive. Smart play, since the kid easily made a 47-yarder earlier.

With Sparty's win, the Big Ten is now 1-1 in bowl games (2-0 against the spread) and Jim Delany is feeling it.
Too bad Minny wasn't Minny and could have held on yesterday...2-0 would look pretty good right now. I still like the Northwestern matchup and Wisconsin match up a lot. I think those games will be close. I'm starting to actually like the Michigan matchup as well. If The OSU/ND Purdue shows up, they have a shot. The only matchup I hate is the Nebraska game, but I hated the Minny matchup as well so we will see. That's the beauty of college football, you never know until you play the game!

This win basically means the BIG bowl season was a success. None of the teams were even picked to win any of the games so this works out well for the BIG I guess. I was talking with my stepbrother during this game and before half I told him that I thought they should have kept Cook in for more drives because it just seems like he throws a much better ball than Maxwell. Glad to see they kept him in for that last drive because im not sure MSU would have won this game with Maxwell leading that final drive. He makes god awful decisions with a football. Cook is going to be pretty decent once he gets a little more time in.
Good job MSU. I'd say so far, the B1G has done better than expected in bowls. Maybe it's a sign of things to come? We'll see on Tuesday.
