But it does seem like we need to get some more solid LB recruits in this class, so if we get Mitchell but whiff on the other LB recruits Sanders could be a critical get. Assuming he does indeed have an offer!

Just read on BN (JC Shurburtt) that Ohio State is in "very good shape" with Sanders for his decision on Wednesday. There are questions as to whether the offer is commitable, but no doubt Sanders really likes OSU.

Whoa. If so (and they want him to commit), makes you wonder where they think they're at with everyone else, and whether they know something the rest of us do not about who wants in or doesn't want in at OSU.
Another update. I don't know if it is pay walled, but a brief summary: Sanders' coach sent out a text to reporters that Sanders had committed to OSU, but he (Sanders) has said this isn't the case.
Makes me think offer was not commitable but that's just an inference.

Just telling you what I'm reading man. Kind of a funny situation, he says he has no offer and that OSU staff is waiting for his decision before offering.. I've never heard of anything like that, but who knows

Haven't seen any footage but his measurables stack up. May need to put on an extra 10 pounds or so. If he does commit, he must be good enough for Urban and that's good enough for me.

^Some Tommy Sanders film if you're curious (think they require you to have a specific player or flash program to play it, I'm not the most internet savvy guy in the world).
He looks like the absolute real deal to me, and I'd definitely say he looks to have 4.45 speed. Only comment I'd make, though, is his body-type almost seems more fitting for a SS (other places listed him around 6/6'1 210) than an OLB at the FBS level. Almost wonder if they wouldn't consider recruiting him at OLB but using him to add some depth at Safety in a year or two (assuming they can get Mitchell and Johnson this year, McMillan, Booker and Garrett next)?
Wow! I love the tenacity in that game film! I agree that he has more of a SS build but hey, he could end up like Brian Rolle and be a great linebacker. He didn't appear to have any hesitation when taking on blocks which, in my mind, is the biggest difference between a DB and a LB. Like Tyler Moeller, he could be an ideal STAR position if LB doesn't pan out.
He does not have an offer unless one was given this past weekend on his visit.
If he commits to us on Wednesday then it tells me 1) Vonn Bell is headed to Bama or 2) Worley hasn't commited to us because he has been told to wait because sanders is ahead of him on the board. My guess is the later.
I'd doubt they'd give Worley a noncommittable offer, I don't think Meyer would want to mess with Glenville when Marshon Lattimore is coming up next year.

Texas A&M will be the end result in my opinion anyways. We are in good shape for Mitchell and Johnson.
Thanks for the update, Gene. My gut is that Bell commits elsewhere so it is good to know that we are still sitting well with Mitchell and Johnson. Wouldn't mind having Sanders or another LB in this class, though, because boy do we need some next year!

Exhibit A: Larry Grant. Was a very good LB at OSU and now plays in the NFL.
He did an amazing job filling in for Patrick Willis at the end of last season, the defense really didn't miss a beat. I hope he gets a starting shot soon.
Grant was pretty good, but did not totally excel at OSU the way he did before and then after. At SFCC (where I think OJ Simpson started), Grant was a legend, blocking punts, sackmaster etc. He came to OSU and they took him out in the nickel (or whatever they called it then) even though he was their fastest LB
Well, now Tommy MAY still announce Wednesday, he's not sure. Will still visit Auburn or South Carolina this weekend though.

I wouldn't worry about it at all. They have plausible deniability until they tell Mr. Sanders that he can publically commit (if indeed they've told him to hold off for now, which is impossible to say).

Unfortuneatly we are also very thin on numbers remaining for this class. Probably 6 at most spots left. 3 go to LB that leaves 3 spots for Gibson, Quick, Bell, Worley, Lacy, Dawson, Elder, Stevens. Hard to tell any of them no if 4 want in

Hope Greenie's right...ususally is. If OSU offers Sanders, it appears he'll be all in. Just wondering what that means with Johnson, Mitchell and others...??? Seems it's a waiting game for them IMHO...I could see them taking two LBs but not sure about three.

Wow. This really is the poker game aspect of recruiting. Shouldn't this be where Mitchell and Johnson (and their parents/advisors) think, "Hmmm.... I really am feeling Ohio State. Seems like as good a time as ever to pull the trigger"? Or, is it Meyer and staff really holding and playing the cards?
Why isn't there a TV show about this? God knows there are enough hospital dramas on. This is serious.
I saw Bill Greene's tweet too... I think the staff is going to make a strong push for a commitment from Mitchell and Johnson over the next 48 hours. If they commit, I don't think Sanders gets in. I believe the staff wants Mitchell, Johnson, Worley to fill our LB spots. At his size a 4.45 40 is pretty impressive. I think he could come in and get some significant PT due to experience, but I'm not sure if he gets in.
My guess is that the staff already know that one of them is in. They are pushing for the other and have bought some time. I think we get 2 more pure LBs in the class and call it quits.
So let's say they get 3 LBs in this class. Will they still get 3 LBs in the 2014 class?
If one of those three is Sanders, then he'd technically be a JR. and out in 2 years, which wouldn't be that big of a deal for 2014, especially if the 2014 LBs are as good as we all want them to be.
