I thought we could all use some school related news that makes us feel good for a change:
Article by Mellissa Seigle on isportstimes.com that reports: http://www.isportstimes.com/articles/4815/20121218/lottery-winners-donation-iowa-stadium-pink-locker-room.htm
A couple in Iowa recent winners of a $205 million lottery payout will donate $3 million of their proceeds to the Bondurant-Farrar school district (their eldest son currently attends this districts High-School).
Just one catch: They must paint the visiting locker-room pink. Awe...those pesky Hawkeyes!! Hayden Frye has taught you well!!

I dont get it. Urban puts ppl in pink shirts and there is an uproar. But schools cant paint a locker room pink and that is ok? Even though you arent singleing out an individual, the connotation is still there...
Honestly, I can't say that I get it either. I simply found it to be a good natured jesture with a sense-of-humor. I have no problem with doing at all, but I do remember the back-lash that Urban incurred over the summer.
My only thought is that maybe Columbus, having a much larger metropolitan area and a larger population of gays & lesbian, whom were 'offended' by Meyer having the slackers donn the pink-jerseys, than any city an Iowa, really. Therefore, the backlash is not as loud of a distraction.
Or maybe the good people of Iowa are simply quick to realize its just a color..and no one individual, or specific group owns it.
“Right now, Michigan is not at the pinnacle of college football, and that’s all Urban Meyer cares about...He’s been there and knows what it takes to get there.”
