I was bored earlier and trying to refute some statement on the article in the Skull Session about the predictions and found this little gem that is the 2009 recruiting class from Scout. Many of you may already know these things, but just thought I'd point them out as I need something to get me through until September.
1. We were the number 1 rated recruiting class in the country and go figure as seniors they went undefeated.
2. Carlos Hyde was the #1 rated full-back in the country.
3. John Simon aparently went by Johnny back in High School. I know some call him that, but didn't think he fully went by that.
4. Jordan Hall was a 3* RB.
5. Zach Boren was a 3* 45th ranked MLB.
Again its all for fun and sometimes enjoyable seeing who turns out and who doesn't and how meaningless these rankings can be in the end.

Good finds. I still think Jordan Hall is a 3* RB, but maybe having him for an extra year in a 5* offense will get more out of him.
I'm glad you said it before me. I was never big on Hall, personally.
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!

I love how you got down voted for saying you liked what somebody sayed I up voted you to cancel it out so it's all good
Great Post!!
Why are we trying to keep J Hall for another year and adverse to bringing an an OL transfer? Hall has been tried at kickoff returns (J Berry 10x better). punt returns (Roby, Brown. Fields better), as feature back (Boom and Hyde way better) and slot (V Reed, Ph Brown better). His pass routes always leave him short of the first down. I have no personal issue with him, but he has brought nothing to the table. Let him go!!!
Really? The only extended playing time we have seen out of Hall was in 2011 with a Bollman coached line blocking for him. Over the offseason he became one of Urbans favorite players and didn't even need to play in the spring game because he had nothing to prove. He then stepped on glass and cut a tendon. When he came back it was for a very short time and he wasn't at 100% and went out with another injury. We barely saw him play this year. If he can get back up to 100% and get back to the condition he was in last offseason then I can't wait to see what he can do.
He had 3 years to show us prior to last year. Other than a couple fumbles and 3-4 pass routes that left us with 4th and 2, I'm not sure what else he has on his resume other than going to H School with T Prior.
More Philly, less Jeanette.
@GoldenBearBuckeye - I'm not going to take it quite that far yet, since we only got glimpses of Hall in Urban/Herman's offense (in his very small sample size he was over 5 yards per carry and 10 per reception). At this point in his OSU career, he seems like a good leader and a great kid, but maybe only an average RB/PR/KR. I'd like to see him in a larger role, but like you said, I'm not sure at what cost yet. After seeing what Hyde (and even Smith, for that matter) did with the ball, it would take some big production for me to take it out of their hands in the backfield.
I remember being excited about Melvin Fellows and Dorian Bell... And battling the Zooker for Fellows...
seeing dorian bell n jamal berry on their still hurts me lol

what will make ya sick is to look how many 4* and above players that should have been studs that flopped and what could have been, especially if we werent on a bowl ban.
4* CB Corey Brown
4* LB Jonathan Newsome
4* RB Jamaal Berry
4* WR Duron Carter
4* WR James Jackson
5* DE Melvin Fellows (gets a pass due to injury)
5* LB Dorian Bell
4* S Jamie Wood
I would also put Jamie Wood in brackets due to injury as well.
I would'nt dare say Johnny to John Simon. I'd be afraid to say anything but Mr. Simon.
thought about adding that. I completely agree
GUAPOOOOOO
Taquitos.
I remember being the most excited about Duron Carter, Jamaal Berry, CJ Barnett, and Jamie Wood the most. Wow, how things have changed...
Personally, I've always been a fan of Jordan Hall but not necessarily by how talented he is. In my opinion, Jordan is a team-first guy who has always given his best. The mere fact that Coach Meyer feels as strongly about Jordan Hall as a team member as he does speaks volumes about his character.
While I am in no way comparing Jordan to Zach Boren, Zach's selfless play and attitude were instrumental in the 2012 Buckeyes being unbeaten. I think Jordan is similar in that regard and welcome him back. Hopefully he is able to have an injury-free 2013. Go Bucks!
What a tremendous deal getting that 3*, lowest ranked member of the 2009 class Kenneth Guiton was! Kenny G at Purdue will not be forgotten!
