(stolen from four letter network blog) Great article in the Toledo Blade about the major factors contributing to Ohio State's success this year. I have to agree with all of them. I may also need to re-asses my presumption that Toledo is in Michigan.

I never troll on spelling and typos while online but "re-asses" is funny!
I esp agree with the players switching positions. Zach Boren filled a huge void that no one was able to grasp and OSU became much better defensively and became a much better team because of it.
Boren's switch was huge, and while there were times that his physical limitations prevented him from making some plays (I remember him being run past by faster players a couple times), the mental aspect and the leadership were very important as it solidified our defense. If someone like Grant or Williams can learn the mental part, their physical gifts will make them scary good.
I saw that too;-) Anyhow, this article in the Blade is spot on. The 2013 schedule is even easier than this years...and winning like we "should" have against Neb (like 63-14 not 38) is going to be important. I also liked the part about the switching positions for Boren and Fragel that was very important to having a 12-0 record.

Woody Hayes 1913 - 1987
I love the line about Meyer, "happened to grow up in an Ohio home that worshipped God, family, and Woody Hayes"
Toledo is most definitely in Ohio but there are certainly (too) many misguided individuals around here as well.
Whether Fickell and Whithers figure out a way to light a fire under Curtis Grant's butt could be the difference between between 12-0 and 9-3. Even Sabino I would say only ended up as above average after being around for so long. but Grant was so bad that despite his athleticism he was a liability this year.
I'm proud to say I'm from Toledo. We consider ourselves Defenders of the Northern Border
