Future Sophomore you're most excited for?

Which Sophomore next year (this years freshman class) are you most excited for with a year in the program?  I am looking forward to Noah Spence with a year in the program to build up some bulk I think he could be great.  He had the speed to get into the backfield, but if he got pushed back it seemed like he had difficulty getting in.  Thoughts?

Adolphus Washington.  I think that guy is going to be a strait BEAST.

Jamal Marcus. Apparently, he's still learning the defensive schemes/responsibilities, but the dude is a beast - a physically gifted athlete with great football instincts.

I recall one play in particular from this past season. Marcus raced down on kickoff coverage, probably 5-6 yards ahead of the nearest Buckeye defender. He took a slightly bad angle on the returner, though, so Marcus had to slow down, reverse his direction, and hold contain on the backside. When the returner attempted to advance the ball laterally in front of Marcus, he grabbed the returner from behind and slammed him to the turf. Basically, Marcus ended up running a loop on the play and still had the quickness and instincts to track down the ballcarrier.

If Perkins can see the field, he will be an absolute monster. Also, Decker is going to be a stud on the O-Line.

I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.

Marcus, Spence, Washington & Dunn...Hoping that Michael Thomas lives up to his potential too.

I think if Marcus can get on the field at LB or even Viper he can be a special player

Diesel and Spence are gonna be very fun to watch once they keep maturing with their technique

My two wild cards that I'm very excited about too are Bogard and Schutt. Meyer spoke very highly of Bogard before his injury and Schutt slowly got better throughout the year and looked like an animal vs scUM. I think he steps right in for Hankins roll

Noah Spence. More snaps=more destruction!

Bryce Hanes. Technically he is going to be a redshirt sophomore. He had some crucial snaps and is an effective tackler in open space. Who could forget that 4th down hold by Penn State that ultimately resulted in a touchdown drive? A another offseason will do great things for Mr. Hanes.

@SIRCLOVIS

Are you from Georgia? or are you just a special teams goo roo?

While being a tad facetious, I tend to lean on the Tressel side of things when it comes to the importance of special teams. But in all honesty, go back and watch the tape of this kid. He is typically the first guy down the field and is a fierce tackler despite being a long snapper. Its guys like this that go unnoticed but make big impacts on games.

I gotta go w/ Washington... Dude is a beast, and had what 3 sacks his year as a fresh in only 8 games and limited playing action...  He's gonna be nasty.   Spence too.  Regardless, we'll be seeing a lot more sacks and an overall dominant D in the near future.  Can't waittttt.

My answer is "insert second year defensive lineman here."  Not trying to dodge the question, but the whole of this unit is going to be greater than the sum of its parts, IMO...

I can't get past Washington! Spence is very talented but I think Washington has blown past him in potential and just utter DAMNest! Reminds me alot of Jevon Kearse! Just a ridiculous specimen and to boot, Hankins leaving just opens up the starting spot!

Looking forward to all of them stepping up to be playmakers.  Great that Spence, Washington, Schutt, Thomas, Dunn, Perry all got PT and much of it against the better opponents.  Decker, Boren, Perkins, Bogard, Marcus, and Murray will also contribute.  My darkhorse to step up is Armani Reeves.  Looks to be super athletic and is built for the part already to step into the defensive backfield.

Torn between Reeeves and Marcus. Would love to see a corner emerge, but we need 2 linebackers to step up this year!

i gotta say Spence.  Showed some playmaking abilities in his action this year and I think he has a big season next year.
